Hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin’s parents:

“Seeing the video of Hersh today is overwhelming. We are relieved to see him alive but we are also concerned about his health and wellbeing as well as that of all the other hostages and all of those suffering in this region.

We are here today with a plea to all of the leaders of the parties who have been negotiating to date. This includes Qatar, Egypt, the United States, Hamas and Israel: be brave, lean in, seize this moment and get a deal done to reunite all of us with our loved ones and end the suffering in this region.

Hersh, we heard your voice today for the first time in 201 days and if you can hear us, we are telling you, we love you, stay strong, survive.”

The Israeli airstrikes today on Hezbollah sites are very clear indications of a new tactic and a completely new phase, with over 35 airstrikes!

Has Israel decided to completely drain Hezbollah's strength by intensifying the strikes?

We are facing completely different days from what happened 200 days ago.

The protest are a part of what is occurring in the public square around the attacks that occurred on oct 7th 2023 on Israel's people.
Documenting that event, by definition, includes the world's response.
So, short answer, no. It's a part of the story and belongs here.

you can report my posts, or put me on ignore though, if my content detracts from your ability to follow the war coverage.
Hope that helps.

Not to get sidetracked but,

Trump should announce that if Hama’s doesn’t immediately release all hostages with US passports to independent countries for repatriation to US then on day 1,

Hama’s will be locked in as terrorist organization. US will stop any and all US aid including aid from NGO’s using the terrorist designation. The US will use any and all available resources to hunt down and hold all Hama’s leaders responsible up to and including the death penalty for those who may make it too trial for the deaths of any and all American’s. No point is negotiable.

EMP hardening (be that a detonation, or a targeting system) is "Design 101" for modern (Western) weapon systems.
Yeah, but I still wonder how they will work in real life with a strong enough pulse and induced electricity. We were also told how well NATO equipment would work against Russia. But in real life..................

Now running for Emperor.
F-15's and up are designed to DELIVER nuclear weapons... Seriously, they can keep going after one pops off; so can all the ordnance on the wings of their compatriots.

In this case, it actually IS Rocket Science, and, we do a very good job at it.

"Could" somebody create a Directed Energy Weapon that damages a vehicle? Of course they could (memory serves that we have several iterations on-hand), but that is an entirely different topic than EMP Hardening isn't it?

Is the icc going to issue arrest warrants for the massacre of 1400 innocent people. Murdering of babies by putting them in microwaves and ovens? All this when they recognize Palestine as a state? Are they going to issue warrants against hamas leadership that did not allow Palestinians to leave Gaza as they desired but instead shot them. Or for the ones that shot people trying to get the aid?
Probably not. Disgusting and revolting.

We are living in bizzaro world on steroids.

Hamas to disband military wing, but on one condition

A senior Hamas official told the Associated Press that the Islamic militant group is ready to agree to a truce with Israel for 5 or more years if an independent Palestinian state is established on the 1967 borders.

In that case, the group would lay down its arms, disband its military wing and turn into a political party.

It is unlikely that Israel would agree to such a scenario. Since the barbaric attack by Hamas militants on October 7, the Israeli authorities have been committed to the group's total destruction.

That is why I qualified it with the US college campus protests. There is just too much to wade through with the US protests going on that it detracts from the original OP of the war in Israel. I'm not reporting you, just wanted to make sure we kept like topics together. The US College campuses have little to do with the Israel war. Most of them are paid actors, have no clue about the issues and just are looking for anything to disrupt the US. They have no real interest in PA other than using it as a opportune sounding board to cause a ruckus.

While protests against Israel on college campuses have been underway around the nation in recent weeks, students at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) took a stance against Israel earlier this year.

In February, the UAB Student Government (USGA) Senate passed a formal resolution condemning Israel.

The Student Senate also introduced a resolution calling for a Palestinian flag to be added to the wall of flags at Hill Student Center. Dozens of flags represent the home nations of students at the school. Photos show that a Palestinian flag is already on the wall.

UAB wall of home nations. Photo: UAB.
According to Israel Insight, the resolution further states that the Student Senate “condemns the ongoing occupation, settler colonialism, apartheid, ethnic cleansing of Palestinians since 1948” and “plausible genocide of Gaza since 2023.”

Hamas, a Palestinian terror group, led a coordinated attack in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, killing over 1,130 people, mostly civilians. Some people were attacked while in their homes, and others while driving their cars. Many women were raped in front of their husbands and children, and some were set on fire. Those who weren’t killed were kidnapped and are still being held hostage in the Gaza Strip. The conflict has been ongoing as Israel fights to protect its right to exist. Estimated Palestinian deaths have reached over 25,000, according to some estimates.

The Student Senate said it “stands in unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people” and calls for justice and consequences against the Israelis.

This isn’t the first time a UAB group has called for action against Israel.

Nooraldein Alabsi, President of the Muslim Student Association and the author of the Student Senate resolution, spoke at a protest at UAB in support of Palestine. He said the conflict personally impacted him.

Some UAB students showed up to the protest to counter the pro-Palestinian demonstration. They said what happened on October 7 was similar to 9/11 in the United States, and they wanted to support Israel. Even the pro-Palestinian protesters told UAB’s Kaleidoscopethat the Israeli supporters should be commended for their respectful demonstration.

The USGA represents seven undergraduate schools at UAB. Members introduce bills to add or amend the USGA Constitution and Code of Laws.

During its 2022-23 Legislative Session, the Student Senate passed a resolution calling for more inclusive meat options and to make halal and kosher meat options “default” for all students. The resolution stated the student government was honored to represent all students.

Hamas: We demand a 100 percent Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank, a 100 percent Israeli withdrawal from half of Jerusalem – including the entire Old City and the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim holy sites – and a 100 percent "right of return" for five million Palestinians to Israel. If Israel accepts this, then we will have a ceasefire and a truce of five years or more. As soon as Israel concedes everything, Hamas will transform itself into a normal political party and the Hamas militia will disband and become part of Palestine's national army.

The Hell they would.

And, they already had their chance at that... They chose murder and terrorism instead.
Not arguing with you but am in total agreement, the only thing is your comment sounded like it was only one time, when it has been an offer on the table ever since 1947 (note that is one year before Israel became a state in 1948).

Arafat turned it down so many times that he became known as the man who didn't miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Perhaps you mistyped Trump when you meant Biden. Otherwise, I don't see how Trump could effect or enforce any of this right now, good suggestion or not.

Then again, I'm sure Biden is happy about the "cover" the protests give him, for trying to take up both side's support in this war. Because he probably is told every evening when he's tucked into bed, that the only thing that matters is getting re-elected, and the only way to get re-elected is to pander to all the stupid people protesting for/against what they can't even understand.

Why on earth would those students believe that a University could have any impact at all on geopolitics or warring parties? Lord save us from the stupid... like a classmate of mine (20 years younger than I) who was shocked to learn the US had killed people in the Vietnam war.

Gazan terrorists fired mortar shells on Wednesday towards the construction work on the humanitarian pier being built off the coast of Gaza.

i24NEWS has learned that several pieces of American engineering equipment were damaged in the attack. In addition, one person was slightly injured while running to a protected area.

The United States has been building the floating pier in order to channel additional humanitarian aid that would arrive via sea route. U.S. President Joe Biden announced the plan during his State of the Union address in early March, clarifying that there would be "no U.S. boots on the ground."

The IDF will likely be in charge of ensuring the security of the costly pier, and the distribution of aid that comes through it, although there has not been any official announcement yet about where the aid will be sourced from.

Riddle me this. What happens if Israel agrees to everything and hamas, now called the Palestinian army violates the truce. Will the Palestinians all get up and leave?

The ICC has issue warrants of arrest for the terrorists that fired the mortars at us troops for trying to build an aid facility.
Yeah right, no they didn’t.

The British Royal Navy yesterday conducted their First ever Shoot Down of a Ballistic Missile during a Combat Situation as the Type 45 Destroyer, HMS Diamond (D34) utilized its Principal Anti-Air Missile System (PAAMS) also known as “Sea Viper” to Down a Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile launched by the Houthi Terrorist Group in Yemen at the U.S-Owned and Operated Cargo Ship, M/V Yorktown in the Gulf of Aden. Besides this being the First ever Shoot Down of a Ballistic Missile by the Royal Navy, it is also the First Downing of any kind of Missile by the U.K. since the Gulf War of 1991. No typo.

Using the Gipper tactic, the fear of getting slammed with the possible new administration pressuring Hama’s to release the hostage’s now with the radical muslim demo’s in power rather than possibly getting hammered should the WH change hands.
