Update: Columbia’s pro-Palestine protestors will break up into platoons to defend the encampment in the event of arrests. “WILL YOU BE READY TO TURN UP FOR YOUR COMRADES?”

Nice tight four board fence (you know what I mean, I.e. can't get through or over it) and keep them there until the food, water, sanitation runs out.

They wanted to be "comradery" - they'll have their chance to get REAL friendly - with each other.

They can even call themselves a "hunger strike" in support of Palestine - but anyone with a brain will know its not voluntary and therefore offers no moral advantage.

Meanwhile, anyone who shows up on the outside gets arrested and taken off to the hoosgow.

Those within the fence have the advantage of optics and entrenchment. Those who arrive have neither of those advantages.

Calling in police enforcement on nonviolent demonstrations of young students on campus is an escalatory, reckless, and dangerous act.

It represents a heinous failure of leadership that puts people’s lives at risk. I condemn it in the strongest possible terms.

Um. AOC, you know of course that there is a tent waiting for you on Columbia Commons. You will be welcomed with open arms so why don't you take them up on it?

Sort of like putting all your bad eggs in one basket?

Plus the advantage to you of "joining your comrades."

VIDEO: A REAL interview we had at NYU:

QUESTION: "Why are you protesting?"

PROTESTER #1: "I don't know. I'm pretty sure there's something about Israel [turns to other person] Why are we protesting?"

PROTESTER #2: "I wish I was more educated."

PROTESTER #1: "I'm not either."

The voting age now needs to be raised to 25.

That these "protests" didn't get to this level until the weather improved and the logistical "tells" like same brand and color tents are telling and are a preview of what's going to happen with both party conventions this summer through to the election.
One thinks of the "Cop-City" protests in Atlanta. And Francis Carroll - who likely is at Columbia Commons as I stylus this.

There are a "professional level" protest employment now. These are the scions of the wealthy and privileged who have nothing better to do than adopt a cause - and Mommy & Daddy continue to fork over the monthly support.

Like the Cop-City protests which during colder weather sort of "moved in town" leaving a "coverage" contingent to shiver in their tree-house, but re-surged in the spring.

Protest is protest - but it has to be "fun and convenient."

Alinsky said as much "it has to be fun." Saul Alinsky’s 12 Rules for Radicals

RULE 6: “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones. (Radical activists, in this sense, are no different than any other human being. We all avoid “un-fun” activities, and but we revel at and enjoy the ones that work and bring results.)

Sitting in a tent, stinky, hungry, wet and in the rain with your walkman smart-phone batteries run down is a sure protest killer.

Ref: my post above on "starving out" the active protesters.

Update on Francis Carroll (Jan 12, 2024)

Now, only Francis Carroll, formerly of Kennebunkport, Maine, awaits trial on terrorism charges. Carroll was arrested on domestic terrorism and other charges in December of 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was part of a group of Antifa and anarchist-affiliated leftists who allegedly attacked police at the site of a planned police training facility that the group had been occupying. Carroll was released on bail and was arrested again in January of 2023 on domestic terrorism and other charges, after participating in riots related to that same occupation. Carroll remains in custody, awaiting trial on the charges.

So maybe not at Columbia Commons. He may have a warm jail cell. I expect he now knows enough to not drop the soap.

Even as the next generation of leftists acts like 2024's version of 1938 brownshirt thugs, they will continue to assure us that Trump is literally Hitler, bent on taking away our democracy.

It's breathtaking to witness, and yet it's so predictable.

That was part of the reason I posted the video on the "Night of the Long Knives"; to show where they actually came from and the copying of methods and goals by the current crop of "revolutionaries".

This makes me a little sad. They want to be a part of something so badly that they are willing to risk their future for a cause they don't know anything about.

They certainly never took any college level courses in psychology and studied a little defense mechanism called 'projection' did they?

Avoid the confrontations. Shut down these campuses as a public nuisance. Shut them down. Turn off all the utilities and shut them down. Turn them OFF. Give everyone 30 minutes to leave and then arrest anyone left.
But, shut them down. Now.

Going to be interesting when graduation ceremony time comes around in a few short weeks. Are they going to kick these people out so they can hold the ceremony, or let them ruin it for all those who worked hard to get a useful degree.

Imagine paying that kind of money to attend these universities only to be taught communist propaganda and be indebted with school loans the rest of your life.

That sounds like almost all "patriots" that I've met, when asked whether they've ever read the Constitution, let alone studied it. Since no one I've ever met has ever said that they've studied it, I don't even bother bringing up the Federalist Papers as a study guide.

There's very little difference between the left and the right, when it comes to wanting to be part of something. They both go about it half-assed.

And, I'm that which is between them.

Want this nonsense to stop? SIMPLE....just EXPEL every protester! Cancel their credits! No degrees issued to expelled students. No transfer of credits. No refunds. Erase them completely from the data base......."Student who? Never heard of them.....Bu BYE!" No $200 dollars, do not pass go, just go away.

Maybe the best thing to do in this situation is show these assholes actual video on wide screen of Hamas cutting off women's breast, or a man's penis or child's hand, then killing the entire family. Let them see what they are really supporting.

….and they would say it was fake or altered video. Thats how a couple crazies have answered me on twitter threads. It’s Israel faking and making all that stuff up.

Hundreds of protestors blocked a police car that was carrying a "comrade" who had been arrested, and after a 30-minute standoff, successfully "de-arrested" him (their words, not mine).
So they "released" him to his own recognizance?

This sort of like in a car trying to out-run a police radio.

They have his name, likely where he lives, certainly his SS#.

They can come for him in a week - SUMMONS - due in court.

Meanwhile, he gets apprehended again. Even if he is released again, his court date will tell all.

This is only the beginning.

Eitan Fischberger

@EFischberger
A few days ago, to little fanfare, organizers from the Yale and Columbia's "Liberated Encampment Zones" published this guide containing 14 points that explains the protestors' strategy in the weeks and months to come.

The guide was endorsed by the National Students for Justice in Palestine (it could have easily been written by SJP members, by the way).

It's currently being circulated among many of the encampments and is being translated into multiple languages.

Everyone who wants to understand how potential widespread anarchy in the US might look should read it. Here are some of the most important points:

Point 2:

"An occupation needs to spread in order to survive. New buildings need to be taken on campus, throughout the city, and across the country. Take the enemy by surprise. Strive for daily or even hourly successes, however small. At all costs, retain superior morale."

Point 6:

"Occupations draw strength from the specter of a riot. The April 1968 occupations took place in the immediate aftermath of the 'Holy Week' of riots in the surrounding neighborhood and cities across the country after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. Campus administrators, city officials, and the police department worried that any attempt to suppress the occupations might lead to unrest in the surrounding neighborhood; Harlem might invade Columbia. An occupation today will be in a stronger position if it is similarly able to build and mobilize support from the surrounding neighborhood."

Point 7:

"The first task then is to open the campus to the community. Students from other campuses, residents of the surrounding neighborhood, and outside agitators need to be welcomed in. In April 1968, five hundred people marched on the gate at 116th St and Broadway. The NYPD stood down out of fear that violence might otherwise erupt. Similar tactics might be necessary today."

Point 9:

"Form committees. Once you seize a building, get organized around practical tasks. In 1968, a defense committee built barricades and coordinated the night watch. A liaison committee established communication between occupations and with the outside world."

Point 11:

"This is only the beginning. A number of revolutionary organizations emerged from the 1968 occupations movement. Pushing the university struggle to its limit might contribute in a similar way to producing a constellation of revolutionary forces in the city today."

Point 12:

"Two, three, many Columbias. Then as now, it will take the opening of new fronts and the spread of increasingly disruptive tactics, such as building occupations, to pull the emergency brake on the war machine."

Gonna have to mull that.

I just know that "Marching Season 2024" is going to last a LOT longer than previous or usual.

AND I am getting flashbacks from 70-71-72.
I wasn’t around in the early 70’s but it sure does look like whoever is organizing now is aiming to make those events look like child’s play. It’s going to be a very long summer.
