Graham Hancock, formerly a foreign correspondent for "The Economist," has been an international bestselling author for more than 30 years with a series of books, notably "Fingerprints of the Gods," "Magicians of the Gods" and "America Before," which investigate the controversial possibility of a lost civilization of the Ice Age destroyed in a global cataclysm some 12,000 years ago. Graham is the presenter of the hit Netflix documentary series "Ancient Apocalypse."

My mentor in grad school was the father of an archeologist. He (the mentor) told me never to accept the explanations archeologists "make up" for their findings. He said they might be real good at digging, but they don't have the history background to really understand what they are finding.

I think established science's trouble with Hancock's idea of a lost ancient civilization is that it is too close to the Bible's antediluvian world and the flood of Noah. (But then again, I read Donald W. Patten's The Biblical Flood and the Ice Epoch back in the 70s, and have distrusted science ever since.)

There were over 3,000,000 Nefliem (giants) living around the world 12,000 years ago. They were the builders of the mega structures before the flood. Were they wiped out by cometairy fragments per Graham Hancock, or an event that happens every 12,068 years as per Doug Vogt. Or a solar event triggered by the return of our solar twin which causes the sun to nova. Or a combination of all three.

An interesting video...

The time scales are just too great for modern man to comprehend.
It is fairly likely that given another ice age that the current Homo Sapiens populace would revert to stone age or near stone age levels of technology.

Really, how many of us actually know how to create the contrivances and conveniences of the modern world??????
And how many of us could create them in an austere environment, while fighting off the cannibal hordes of dindus??????

The Pyramids had electricity supplied by "Edison" batteries, and the Greeks had mechanical computers.
The Russians had pebble-bed nuclear reactors (in pre-history) and the Africans had irrigation and massive mines.
History is far deeper than we deign to delve.
Most cannot comprehend that our ancestors were as smart or smarter than us.
And they did more with less.

Heck, just look at what's involved in making a simple pencil, never mind a cheap stick pen.

It is recorded in the Bible that Joshua slew the King of Canna. In secular tablets dug from the sight it is recorded the Kings bed was 6’ x 13’. The word bed is believed to be his coffin. It was made out of iron. That is a pretty big coffin for a big creatures. So it seems giants did inhabit the land.

The giants were consuming the earth at that time and had to be destroyed. Noah (Gilgamesh) was saved from the flood with fellow tradesmen needed to rebuild as he was the seed of humanity. 2/3rd Anunnaki, 1/3rd human. The Caucasian race, the house of David? The reason we see the hatred for white people surfacing these days.

I know how to make ink from plants, paints from earth pigments, natural dyes for cloth and fibers, etc., and have been doing so for decades. Assuming I survive any major earth event, I do have some 19th century skills, like knowing how to spin fibers with a homemade drop spindle, make a crude loom to weave cloth, and how to make basic clothings like tunics and leggings. I've even dabbled in making felted moccasins with leather soles... I know how to brain tan a hide, but the body is no longer willing, ditto sheering sheep, etc. I know. how to grow food, can, dehydrate, cure, or ferment it, but again the body is getting to the point where it's a battle to do these things by myself.

Graham Hancock is fascinating to me. I have read and re-read Fingerprints of the Gods. I also have his follow on book Magicians of the Gods and America Before.

Couldn't recommend them enough if you are interested in that kind of topic.

I own all of his books except the one where he investigates the cities that are now under the ocean.

the Bible mentions giants six different times. I have a thread in the Unexplained about Giants in the Americas and someone mentioned this, along with the bible versus. Totally surprised me because the only giant story I was familiar with was David and Goliath.

The Bible is just one source for giant info. After the flood, the world went into a 1,000 year ice age slumber. To me, this cycle might be returning to earth in the form of Christ returning for 1,000 years after the 12,068 year cycle completes. Last time only a few survived to rebirth the planet. This time, way more people. Something tells me humanity might be surviving off planet for a while in the new Jerusalem as earth recovers. Then the new gene pool is planted on a new earth with no more evil people.

Wow, 4 hours of Hancock, should be a gas. Thanks!
I stand, more or less, with Hancock. There WERE great civilizations here before.

Since I teach primitive crafts and skills I have experimented with tipi rings (I also make tipis) The Archaeologists claim that the tipis the Indians used were small because of the tipi rings they left. The Indians used rocks to hold down the bottom of the liner of the tipi which made the tipi rings. I set up my 16ft tipi and when I pulled the liner the rocks rolled in making a 12 to 14ft ring. Then I read about a Crow Indian who was a guide for Custer when asked about the size of the tipis they used before horses. His grand father told him the tipis were the same size as now 18ft. the skins were too heavy for one dog to transport so the split them down the back so 1 dog could each haul 1/2 of the tipi skin. When they made camp they laced the 2 halves together to make an 18ft tipi. The archaeologists blow this off because it goes against their theory.

This is not an attack on neither you, your beliefs nor the bible . . . just a simple note that the size of a coffin does not always relate directly to the size of the individual. I have one relative buried in a 1 foot square box (cremation) and another buried in a marble box about the size of my truck, inside a mausoleum bigger than a single stall garage. Both were regular human-sized individuals.

Think of the Pyramids to bury a person in. They are huge. My point was you had a written Biblical account of an event correlated to a secular archeological find. Biblical calls it a giant and tablet described the possible size. We have no other information one way or the other. The discovery process is what makes it fun.
