Supposedly the rest of the band didn't know about Moon's explosive prank and Townshend claimed that was the start of his hearing loss. Given Moon's short lifetime of antics, I wouldn't be surprised if that is true.

I met T Graham Brown backstage at a venue in 1997, about a year before he released this song. I was heading to the bottom of my years of alcoholism, and he was just about to come out of his. I was a big fan of his music on the radio, but I had never so much as seen a picture of him. The crew was hauling in his equipment for the show, and I thought he was one of the roadies.
We talked for about 5 minutes, one of the nicest guys I ever met. He never even let on who he was, and I kept thinking "You'd better get back to work, dude."
This song has been credited with saving a whole bunch of lives, maybe mine:
