The hail has been bigger, but outside of that, it’s been a pretty mild spring. Is this years weather anything outside of historical norms?

Hmmmmm, I wonder if they have blue roofing tiles?
Gosh, I just found this thread. We were without power for the better part of 4 days starting on Thursday. We didn't get this part of the storm, we got the huge blob that hit and came down from Killeen. We missed the giant hail, but got upwards of 5" of rain and wind gusts that took down many, many trees and power poles/lines. Not far from us the NWS is investigating to determine if the winds were tornadic or straight line; significant damage out that way.
I think we've had over 20" of rain in the last few weeks. Haven't gotten the garden in yet, and at this point with our summer heat it may be too late. I'm just thankful that our house is on higher ground.
