I won't be able to go into details of course but suffice to say that this afternoon Hubby and I were rear-ended. We were stopped for a road construction crew and the fellow hit us pretty bad.

We are both home tonight. No broken bones. Car is a goner.

I'm ok but hubby is a mess upstairs. Please pray especially for him tonight.

Thank you all.

Oh, dear! Often the effects (some quite serious) of rear end collisions aren't evident until the day after or even long after. Hope our Colonel Holoman can give you some suggestions while the rest of us pray for you and DH.

Dang Minky sorry to hear that! Prayers from me, just south of you a ways. Try to take it slow, use Ice and alternate with heat on the sore spots. Ibuprophen and lots of rest. Hope it all turns out ok.

God's Peace be upon, within, and surrounding you both. Glad you weren't injured, sorry about your car. Hope the "assailant" was well insured... Rest in the Lord, and the Power of His Might...

Sorry to hear that, MinkyKat. Nasty business, getting into a car accident.

Prayers for you both, and calming wishes especially for your DH.

My two daughters were rear ended on the way to school years ago. A few days later, they both had terrible headaches and slept a lot. Dr. said whiplash but it sure lasted awhile.

Very true! I was rear-ended when I was much younger, and at the time thought I was fine. Later that evening I got an excruciating headache with neck pain and stiffness and ended up in the ER. It was a classic whiplash, the subject of many jokes, but honestly it was horrible. Had to wear a cervical collar for a few weeks and take some meds, muscle relaxants I think.

If either of you begin to feel unwell or experience pain, please don't hesitate to get it checked out right away. It's serious. Adding our prayers!

so sorry to hear this - prayers up for you and DH - as many others have said - expect to feel worse tomorrow and I am afraid more likely than not even worse on the third day.

Prayers for you both, be careful, I was rear ended pretty hard and had brain damage from the headrest, along with disk issues in my neck, I still have one bone that sits somewhat sideways and causes me tons of grief. My back hurt for a long time, and the chiropractor realized after 4 months I was getting worse, much, much worse. Once I got the right xrays (fluoroscopic) you could see the bone in my neck moving all over the place.

I was strong from the work I did at the time, so my dislocated shoulders, hip and jaw weren't recognized until almost a year later, the pain in my back was so bad I didn't realize the damage to my joints.

Moral of the story is, wait and see how you and hubs feel, it may take a few days to weeks or even a month or so before the total extent of the damage is realized.

Prayers to you both....Having been there done that in very similar circumstances I strongly suggest that if neither of you have been checked out medically to do so ASAP! There's all sorts of things that could be longer term than just soreness with this kind of event....

You need to go to the hospital, you both need to be examined for whiplash & concussions? Go now, you have 24 hour window to blame it on accident driver or lawyers will say it is from previous incident or something you did after that caused it. Please go get checked out. The guy who rear ended you is at fault and his insurance has to pay for medical expenses. That includes chiropractor or physical therapy or both.

Will pray and hope you decide to get check.

Thank you all so much for the prayers, kind thoughts and good advice.

We were taken to ER in ambulance and received treatment. I have 3 Staples in the back of my head. Glass sliced a nice gouge in there.

Hubby is an emotional wreck and has a bad headache.

I am trying hard not to think but to give thanks for that didn't happen.

No one is promised tomorrow.

Long after, as in 6 months going on 8 years.

Minkykat, make sure you document EVERYTHING and if you suspect anything is wrong with either of you, have it looked at and on record from a doctor that it's from the accident, if possible. All too often these sorts of injuries surface long after the insurances involved consider it a closed case. Believe me, it can mess up you up long term.
