BREAKING: Chase Bank app is down — many Americans report issues in accessing online banking

BREAKING: CHASE BANK OUTAGE LEAVES THOUSANDS LOCKED OUT

Chase Bank's online systems hit a snag on Wednesday, frustrating customers across the U.S. as they found themselves unable to access their accounts and financial information.

Starting just after 1:30 p.m. EDT, the outage affected the bank's mobile app and website, with reports of around 7,000 customers facing issues ranging from log-in errors to transaction troubles.

Chase acknowledged the disruption, stating:

“We're working to restore all services to the website and the Chase Mobile app right now. Thanks for your patience."

On line banking bad idea. A few years ago the amount of theft being done to people from using on line banking was growing.
Now we have illegal aliens coming into the country and they want nothing more than steal your smart phone or tablet to get into the bank accounts and clean them out.
I refuse to buy into the smart phone thing and we do banking the old way and go directly to the bank.
We use flip phones from consumer cellular as its cheeper than smart phones, there is no internet, my cell phone will not do texting which I'm ok with and I have never setup the answering service so what few junk calls I get find out fast and mark that phone number to never call again.

The problem is if someone gets ahold of your cell phone, tablet or laptop that you use for on line banking they have access to your bank accounts. We have head line stories of people having their stuff snatched from them on the street only to find out the thief has already make off with a few hundred to as much as many, many thousand's of dollars before they could do anything about it.

What happens is they get your routing number from a check and that is all the need. It is a huge problem. We don’t issue paper checks for this reason.

My credit union's debit card system went down for everyone last Friday. CU has sent out two apology emails and texts. Didn't inconvenience me, but it sounds like it was down for everyone's debit card.

We should probably get used to things failing in our complicated, technological society. None of it's protected and there are plenty of organizations and individuals who mean the average American harm including our own government.

buy more ammo and stay away from crowds.

Believe it or not most people have no clue about them numbers and how they are used.
Having been trained as a printer I know the ink used just for them numbers is magnetic the rest of the check is printed with regular ink.

Thays exactly right!

They tried to talk me into the app
No way!
So when I voiced my concerns to the bank tellers who were showing it to me they looked at me with that “oh boy, we got a paranoid nutjob on our hands” ….side eye snicker type of looks.

We’ve been having multiple discussion with all the banks we do busuiness with. The theft of routing numbers is currently the number one fraud issue with losses in the billions.

My bank account took two days to update my balance. Then they fked me with a service charge they won't refund. I told them I'm closing my account.
