Border agents arrest alien wanted for homicide

On Saturday U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien wanted on two counts of homicide.
At 7:30 p.m. Border Patrol agents arrested three illegal aliens two miles east of the San Luis Port of Entry. After bringing the three aliens into the station and processing them Border Patrol Agents discovered that one of the aliens, Andres Aguilar Cruz, was wanted in Racine County, Wis.
Aguilar Cruz had two outstanding warrants there. One was for two counts of first degree attempted homicide. The other for two counts of vehicular homicide with injury. Border Patrol agents discovered that Aguilar Cruz was wanted through the use of two databases: IDENT, biometric immigration database and the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System. All illegal aliens' information is put through these two databases.
"The Yuma Sector Border Patrol uses state-of-the-art technology as one of our assets to identify criminal aliens arrested in the Yuma area," Yuma Sector Border Patrol Spokesman Joe Brigman said.
After discovering that Aguilar Cruz was wanted and explaining to Aguilar Cruz that he has the right to speak with the Mexican Consulate, the Border Patrol contacted the Mexican Consulate and the Yuma Police Department. The Yuma police department transported Aguilar Cruz to the Yuma County Adult Detention Facility, where he is awaiting extradition to Wisconsin.
