Well I was down with the flu during the last week. I started taking Synergy 7x at the rate of an oz a day. Two days runny noise, two days with some congestion then over it for all intended proposes. I had been taking this product daily before I came down with the flu. It would have helped to lesson the symptoms of the overall attack. I intend to keep this practice up.

I would advise something like Devils Club Tincture to take with Synergy 7x if you catch H1N1. My bottle got broken in transit along with a bottle of Red Alder Catkin so I haven't tried them yet. They are both very anti bacterial products. The reason I recommend these products to take with Synergy 7x for H1N1 is that about a third of cases that get H1N1 also get a bad secondary infection from bacteria. It can be what kills. There is already some anti bacteria stuff in the Synergy 7x but you are playing with your life with this flu bug so don't approach the matter on a cost saving approach. Tom himself recommends taking vitamin D3 to take besides his products. He needs to become an agent for it I think.

The He Man Tonic that BigFootsCousin mentioned as far as I know is not up for sale yet as it is still going through the Government product approval system. I had a sample that Tom had sent me. It is great stuff to lift the spirits up with a cold. Not good however to take before going to bed as it keeps you awake. I think it should be renamed "Mood Enhancement Tonic." It would be good to take before exams or when studying. Truckers will love the stuff. If you are going for a presentation for something it would give you the wide awake appearance and feel.

Most of the products from Tom it pays to get the 16 oz sizes. If you are a bigger person then you need to take more of these products for your size if you want to alleviate the flu and other symptoms.

Under normal conditions the Respiratory Tincture will help asthmatics breathe a lot better. I did however need to resort to other asthma medication for a couple of days with the flu I just had. I could have got away but without it. Just gave that bit added comfort. A lot of the Respiratory formula is in Synergy 7x so I will be using that instead as it gives lets call it the double effect Flu, Asthma.

Good Lord those prices are high!! Guess we'll manage without.

I am completely and utterly convinced that I would be very sick right now without Tom's Synergy 7 and Black elderberry extract. I have had a low grade fever, scratchy throat, feeling of irritation in my eustachian tubes(ears) and coughing up a little crud in the mornings. All of this goes away by dosing with the above and keeping up with Vitamin D, some Black elderberry capsules in between times and Curcumin/Bioperene for the body aches I have also had (very briefly thanks to the above regimen).

Like China Connection - I'm a big person so the big bottles are the best deal! Having lived 53 years on the planet and gone through many flu seasons and been prone to respiratory crud (colds, bronchitis, pneumonia) I KNOW this stuff works! I've been telling folks to look into whether or not these things might work for them at the large health facility where I work and to everybody who mentions the flu to me.

In the last month I've been required to be in large gatherings of people and on 4 planes the last 3 days. Given the fatigue from travel, a lot less sleep than usual plus the exposure to folks at an international gathering I have not come down with anything serious due to (I believe) using these items at a preventive dosing.

As an RN I'm not prone to "selling" but I am prone to telling people to consider something that could save their lives or at least a heck of alot of misery.

Cost: lets look at it! If you take a small dose on a regular basis then you are up for about $20 a month buying at the large size. If you hit it hard when you actually have the flu and you have a bit of size then $10 a day. I don't call this big costs for keeping out of hospital and being able to work and keep one's job. This product is not something one would take in ounces at a time. Nor is it a product that one can 'easily' duplicate in the home.

Dr. Krebs Uses Lomatium for Influenza Epidemic

The following is verbatim from: Bulletin of the Nevada State Board of Health , No. 1 , Carson City, Nevada , January, 1920

AN INDIAN REMEDY FOR INFLUENZA

In publishing this paper the State Board of Health does not give its endorsement to the remedy until it has had further trial. We merely present the facts as stated by Dr. Krebs, with the idea of giving the matter publicity and encouraging others to give it a trial.

During the fall of 1918 when the influenza epidemic visited this section of Nevada, the Washoe Indian used a root in the treatment of their sick which was gathered along the foot-hills of this slope of the Sierra. The plant proved to be a rare species of the parsley family (Leptotaemia dissecta*), according to a report from the University of California.

The Indians gather this root in the late fall, November being considered the proper month for gathering. The root is used in the fresh or dry state. It is cut up and a decoction is made by boiling the root in water, skimming off the top and giving large doses of the broth. A pound of root is considered about the proper dose to treat a case of fever for three days, which is the longest time needed to break up a fever due to influenza or a pulmonary disease, although the Washoes used it as a panacea.

Whether a coincidence or not, there was not a single death in the Washoe tribe from influenza or its complications, although Indians living in other parts of the State where the root did not grow died in numbers.

It was such a remarkable coincidence that the root was investigated by a practicing physician who saw apparently hopeless cases recover without any other medication or care of any kind. A preparation was prepared and employed in a great many cases among the whites, from the mildest to the most virulent types of influenza, and it proved, among other things, that it is the nearest approach we have today to a specific in epidemic influenza and the accompanying pneumonia. Where used early it proved itself to be a reliable agent in preventing pulmonary complications. Other physicians were induced to give it a trial, with the same results.

It is beyond the experimental stage, as its therapeutic action in this direction is established and beyond any doubt. The cases in which it has been used run into the hundreds. There is probably no therapeutic agent so valuable in the treatment of influenzal pneumonia and, as far as being tried, in ordinary lobar pneumonia if started early.

Its action on coughs is more certain than the opiate expectorants and its benefit is lasting.

It acts as a powerful tonic to the respiratory mucous membranes. It is a bronchial, intestinal and urinary antiseptic and is excreted by these organs.

It seems to stimulate the pneogastries (sic) and causes a slow pulse with increased volume and reduced tension. It is a pronounced diaphoretic and somewhat diuretic, and it is a stimulating and sedative expectorant. In large doses it is a laxative, and in extreme doses emetic.

To make a therapeutically active preparation, the proper variety of the root must be selected in the late fall and properly cured out of the sun. Its active principles must be extracted with as little as possible of the objectionable constituents. The active principles of the root are decidedly complex. It contains a glucoside (as its solutions precipitate copper from Fehling's solution). It contains one or more alkaloids and an acid analogous to benzoic acid, one or more volatile and fixed oils, a resin and a gum. It can be seen from this that it resembles a balsam from the fact that it contains an oleogumresin and an acid besides alkaloids and glucosides.

One can at once appreciate the fact that a reliable pharmaceutical preparation representing the action of the root is not readily made. The volatile oil, which is one of the principal therapeutic agents, is lost in making a decoction.

This particular variety of Leptotaemia* is not as common as believed as some, and it is this particular variety that has medicinal or therapeutic virtues. It grows in dry sandy soil, as a rule, under or between tall sagebrush or greasewood. The plant grows from two to four feet high and has a blossom similar to wild parsnip and leaves like a carrot. It is a perennial, and the older roots frequently weigh from two to six pounds. It sprouts early in April, blooms in May, seeds in June, and withers in July. A number of trials in transplanting the root have been made, but none were successful.

Leptotaemia dissecta * is destined to become one of the most useful if not the most important addition to our vegetable materia medica.

Lomatium Root drew national attention in medical circles during the influenza pandemic of 1916-1918 when Dr. E.T. Spotting the dried root hanging from their lodges, Dr. Krebs asked what it was and what was its use. He was told it was “Big Medicine”, and that it was used to prevent colds and the flu. He asked if he could try this medicine on some of his white patients, and after making a crude preparation and giving it to his patients in San Francisco, he said, “They just stopped dying”.

Researchers from the Florida-based Herbal Science Group LLC, writing in the July 2009 issue of the journal Phytochemistry, reported that flavonoids from elderberry extract bind with H1N1 (swine flu) virus, blocking its ability to infect a host. They compared the elderberry flavonoids' antiviral action with those of Tamiflu and Amantadine.

Recent studies indicate black elderberry extract may compare favorably to Tamiflu in preventing or lessening the severity of swine flu and other flu strains.

Several studies point to the potential of the common, but long-revered elderberry as a potent natural aid in protecting against influenza. A recent study published in the July 2009 issue of the scientific journal, Phytochemistry (2009 Jul;70(10):1255-61), declares that "elderberry flavonoids bind to and prevent H1N1 infection in vitro." Similarly, a study published in the Journal of International Medical Research (2004 Mar-Apr;32(2):132-40) examined the efficacy of black elderberry syrup (marketed under the name Sambucol) in a group of flu sufferers in Norway and determined that their symptoms were relieved on average four days earlier when taking elderberry extract compared with a control group receiving a placebo.
What is Black Elderberry?

Elderberry plants are small trees or large shrubs. Profuse sprays of tiny white blossoms adorn its branches in spring. These give way to small berries in the summer which ripen in autumn. There are many varieties and cultivars of elder, but black elder, also known as European elderberry (Sambucus nigra) is the variety which has been studied for its flu-fighting potential.

Elderberry has a long history as a folk medicine and has played an important role in many myths and legends. It grows wild readily in many parts of the world, and has been used by people for centuries as both food and medicine. Commercial cultivars for the home garden are available for purchase.
How Does Elderberry Work to Offer Natural Flu Treatment?

Elderberries are particularly rich in antioxidants in the form of flavonoids, especially anthocyanins. The anthocyanins give the elderberry its dark purple black color. According to the researchers in the study published in Phytochemistry (July 2009) the flavonoids in black elderberry extract "bind to H1N1 virions and, when bound, block the ability of the viruses to infect host cells." This binding action prevents the virus from replicating.

Researchers who conducted the study in Norway concluded that elderberry "prevent[ed] the adhesion of the virus to the cell receptors." They also determined that flavonoids in elderberries may boost the immune system by enhancing production of cytokines, which are a part of a necessary and healthy immune response. They indicated that anthocyanins have an anti-inflammatory effect comparable to aspirin. In their study the group treated with Sambucol, black elderberry extract reported a lessening of aches, pain and fever as compared to the control group who received a placebo.

Nettle tea has been used traditionally as an arthritis treatment as it supposedly breaks down uric acid crystals in joints


Patients suffering from arthritis have also experienced beneficial effects from YewTip Tincture, reducing inflammation and chronic pain.
My experience with the tincture indicates it to be an effective anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and immuno-stimulant.

Update
Time for a bit of an update on the flu that I have had. I was most likely H1N1 as that is what is going around over here now. I had flu two months before this lot also. My immune system is a shit as I catch whatever is going around.

As I said before I was already taking Synergy 7x from Tom before I came down with this flu attack. I came down on the night of October the 29th. This was a Thursday evening. I had, had it trying to get a hold on me for a few days prior to actually coming down with it. I increased my intake of Synergy 7x to an oz a day starting on the Friday. Friday and Saturday I had a runny noise. The Friday I was as white as a sheet. Saturday I had color back. Sunday the runny noise stopped but I was hacking up a fair amount of Phlegm. By Tuesday I just had a little congestion with just the occasional bit of Phlegm being coughed up but this has kept up until this week. On Tuesday evening the 10th of this week I though that I would go and get put on a drip during Wednesday in an effort to clear things up. Wednesday morning however I woke up feeling really good.

Since October the 30th I have been having an oz a day of Synergy 7x. At no stage have I needed to go to hospital. I have worked the whole time. My entire school had been vaccinated and student’s numbers were only down a bit for a few days during one week.

On October the 31st my order for D3 plus arrived from Brad at Bio-Tech Pharmacal and I have been hitting that hard along with Tom's Synergy 7x. Tom himself recommends taking vitamin D3 and he also buys from Bio-Tech. As Tom has named the product Synergy 7x there are seven different things that work together in the tincture. Adding D3 plus is just adding that bit more to the success of the formula.

So the stuff works well. I currently have another order in transit from Tom and will also get more product from Brad as I think things are going to get worse not better. Besides I get whatever flu is doing the rounds over here. I wish I had, had Tom's stuff for what I've had since coming to China. Three times I have ended up having to stay in hospital for a day or two. I have also had weeks of being on drips every day at local clinics.

I meant to post the results of taking the *ahem* great-tasting *ahem* Synergy-7 formula...

I started taking it about a day after feeling a bit ill. Didn't take it as the instructions say (1 dropper per 100lbs, several times a day.) I took... 1 dropper per 75 pounds, twice a day. The first time I took it in some lukewarm water, and - *WOW* - that'll put some hair where you otherwise wish you didn't have it. After that, I mixed it in my tea (mint tea, mixed with some of the respiratory tea, and a dollop of honey.)

In a nutshell: I didn't get very sick. Had an "itchy" throat on and off and some headaches and nose issues, but nothing bad. So...I'd buy it again. =)

Just thought I'd post an artical as to why people such as Tom can't advise on what they sell. So if you are getting results then post to let others know.

In an effort to censor any online text that might inform consumers of the ability of natural products to protect consumers from H1N1 influenza A, the FDA is now sending out a round of warning letters, threatening to "take enforcement action... such as seizure or injunction for violations of the FFDC Act without further notice."

This vaccine, of course, will be utterly useless because H1N1 will undoubtedly mutate between now and the time the vaccine is ready, rendering the vaccine useless.

In other words, according to the tyrants at the FDA, the only products that may be marketed alongside the term "H1N1" are those products that either don't work or aren't available to most people. Anything that really works to prevent influenza infections -- such as natural anti-virals, medicinal herbs, etc. -- is banned from even mentioning H1N1 without the threat of being criminally prosecuted.

Such are the operations of our U.S. Food and Drug Administration -- a criminal organization that's working hard to do what every criminal organization does: Eliminate the competition! As the defender of Big Pharma, the FDA is also the destroyer of knowledge that seeks to remove educational statements from the internet. Truth has nothing to do with it -- it is verifiably true that anti-viral herbs, probiotics and other natural products help protect consumers from influenza -- but the FDA cannot allow such statements to remain online for the simple fact that people might become informed. And that, it seems, would be a dangerous precedent.

If people were informed about the healing and protective powers of herbs, they would no longer remain enslaved by the medical establishment. Profits would be lost. Power would evaporate. This is why people can never be allowed to attain any real knowledge about herbs, superfoods or nutritional supplements. And the FDA will threaten people with imprisonment just to make sure they don't dare publish knowledge that the FDA does not want the people to see.

Last night I started feeling VERY chilled and I put on extra blankets AND a wool ski-cap. My house temperature was a nice, toasty 69 degrees.

My lungs started feeling heavy and 'froggy', and I had a sore throat, general malaise, body-aches, chills, and a general feeling of 'oh-crap'.

First thing this morning I pulled out the 'Flu-log' that has been provided here on TB2K and I made myself a hot cup of Respiratory Tea with some Synergy-7x supplement and added a generous portion of honey to it. It tasted pretty good.

I've had a few cups of the Respiratory Tea throughout the day with the Synergy-7x supplement and I'm feeling 'decent' this afternoon except for the fatigue and bodyaches. My lungs and throat feel MUCH better, and my sinuses even are cleared up.

When I purchased these supplements from Tom I knew that 'eventually' that I'd be needing them as I work directly with ILI type patients everyday. IMO, this 'prep' is as valuable as having anything else in your home.

If you don't have these products in your 'Flu-Kit' yet, you ought to consider budgeting for them and get some if you can. I am very glad that I had some available to me this morning as I could barely walk/move as I was so darn sick.

BigFootsCousin good to hear that you are finding it helps you. If you get anything into the lungs then try the Lomatium Root Tincture straight.

Two days ago I started using the dropper supplied with the smaller bottle to squirt Tom's preparations into my throat neat, meaning straight out of the bottle. I'm finding the effect a lot more effective than using it into hot green tea.

Tom himself advises putting it under your lip. I can do this now but couldn't at first. Squirting it into my throat is a lot easier and results are good, much better than with letting it stand in hot water and then drinking it. Also you can be out and about during the day and keep a small bottle with drip in your pocket and use it easy this way.

Lately I have also been using the Montana YewTip Salve (ointment) with great success off Tom. It goes into the skin great and fixes things up like rashes and bites.

i just placed my second order for more Synergy7/Respiratory Tea, Black Elderberry/Devils Club/Nettle Tea, Montana Candida and more Respiratory Tea.

The eBay store is a bit confusing, but I made my way through the 22 items offered. I couldn't find Devils Club on it's own so I purchased it with the Elderberry pkg., a much better deal than buying individually, I'm sure.

I would be nice to read some explanation here on the other, less talked about tinctures available, such as white birch, St. John's Wort and the Nettle tea.

I got a cold last Wednesday, sneezing like the dickens, and started on the Respiratory tea, boosted with Synergy7, Yew tip and Lomatium root. Less than three days with mild symptoms of sneezing, wheezing and runny nose and sinuses. Usually it goes into my chest and I develop a hacking cough, but I didn't this time. Was it the tea? I think so. Very soothing and I added honey to it as well. Did the Vitamin C & D regimen, Sambucol and some curcumin. By Saturday morning I was back to feeling like my old self!

Now I'm recommending it to co-workers and friends. Got one started on the respiratory tea yesterday, my stash, which is why I'm re-ordering to help last the winter season.

That tea, does it come in larger sizes? I appreciate the free bags of tea, but each bag is only 8 days' worth per person for preventative purposes, only 4 days worth of mitigation. That's a lot of tea bags for two people!

Update, I think I misread the directions on the bottles. I've been adding drops rather than droppers. 1 drop is not 1 ml. I work with 1 and 2 ml pipettes at work, so I have something I can compare volumes to. I'll be using the correct doses in the future but it goes to show how potent this stuff is!

Just ordered some more of the synergy 7 - DH is totally convinced that a dropper full each day that we've each been taking all winter have prevented both of us from getting sick. Both of us work in offices all day with lots of people who were sick this winter. We are both 50 and have been healthy all winter. Thanks Tom!

I just wanted to share that I used this week Tom's flu herbal med. Hubby had flu two weeks and gave it to me. He took Advil stuff and I took Toms herbs...I got over my flu in three days...hubby gave in and started taking Tom's herbs and agrees it is helping him...Thanks Tom!

I'm taking some of Tom's stuff at presnt as I have a cold again.

At first sign of cold or flu, I drink a respiratory tea with black elderberry, lomatium root and synergy 7, and usually don't need a second treatment. I sleep like a baby when taken just before bed.
