This is a sad story. The Judd’s are a family that seemingly had it all, talent, fame & fortune but the reality is that they have been plagued by mental illness, addiction & tragedy.

Wynonna Judd’s daughter Grace Kelley hit with prostitution charges after waving ‘Ride for a Ride’ sign while naked on Alabama highway

The daughter of country music legend Wynonna Judd was slapped with prostitution charges Thursday — for allegedly flashing her breasts on a busy Alabama highway while flaunting a “Ride for a Ride” sign after a suspected drug-induced frenzy.

Grace Pauline Kelley, the troubled 27-year-old daughter of the famed “Rock Bottom” vocalist, was picked up April 5 after exposing herself at the bustling crossroads of Interstate 65 and Highway 14 in Millbrook.

She initially was charged with indecent exposure and obstructing governmental operations, but authorities hit her with a soliciting prostitution charge nearly a week later, records show. All three are misdemeanors.

Kelley — who has a history of drug abuse — is still sitting in jail on $2,000 bail.

Police received two calls about the troubled woman’s public behavior — and at first offered her the opportunity to go home without incident.
They found the scantily clad Kelley strolling down the highway near a Walmart carrying her explicit hitchhiking sign.

“And when she made contact with our officers, she argued with them about the legality of what she was doing. And that it was not illegal for her to offer herself in exchange for rides,” Millbrook Police Chief PK Johnson told the Daily Mail.

Kelley left the scene when asked, only to storm into a nearby Circle K gas station an hour later, declaring that she had been robbed.

“While there, she apparently caused a disturbance with some of the customers,” said Johnson.

The clerk called 911, but Kelley ran from the store before officers could arrive.

She didn’t make it far, however — she was found at another nearby highway flashing her torso and lower body, as well as the sign.

“She was not appropriately dressed. She didn’t have the things covered that needed to be covered. And she was holding the ‘Ride for a Ride’ sign while she was in that state and with drivers going by, displaying herself,” said Johnson.

The police chief had previously reported that Kelly “became irate” and refused to identify herself or cooperate with cops.

Because of her argumentative behavior and disturbing state of undress, police placed her under arrest for obstruction of governmental operation, later adding additional charges.

Johnson voiced suspicions that the bizarre incident may have been drug-induced.

“She might not have had drugs on her at the time she was arrested, but if you look at the booking photo, but it hadn’t been long,” he said.

In her booking photo, Kelley’s face appears swollen and bruised, with her right eye nearly shut from the inflammation.

What Kelley was doing on the Alabama highway is still not clear — her last listed address is in Franklin, Tennessee, where her mother lives with third husband Scott Moser.

Insiders told the Daily Mail that Kelley’s famous mother — who boasts 20 No. 1 hits throughout her long career — has not spoken with her derelict daughter since her most recent arrest.

Instead, a representative for the family has been in contact with the court concerning Kelley’s condition, and only her father, businessman Arch Kelley III, has spoken with police.

“I have dealt with parents in this situation who don’t have the means that these people do. But I don’t think it’s as much about as, what are they going to do? Sometimes it’s about what have they already done to help,” Johnson said.

“I got the feeling in talking with him, and this is just my opinion, that they’ve tried to help her and to no avail to this point. There have probably been many attempts on their part to get this young lady help.”

Judd feels “distraught and powerless” over her struggling daughter, but is prepared to take custody of Kelley’s daughter, Kaliyah, should she be sent back to jail.

“She just doesn’t know if there is anything else she can do except for what she is doing already,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“Wynonna truly only wants the best for her and prays for her non-stop, but she does blame herself for Grace’s misfortunes — especially her addiction. Wynonna feels that her fame caused her to not be the best parent that she could have been to Grace growing up.”

Kelley has a lengthy criminal history that includes meth charges and a probation violation that earned her an eight-year sentence in a Tennessee prison in 2018.

Kelley — also the niece of actress Ashley Judd and the granddaughter of late country star Naomi Judd — was later paroled, according to news reports.

But she was arrested again last May on charges that she violated a restraining order and broke the conditions of her parole.

Moms got enough money to stick her in Betty Ford for years.

I wonder what the disconnect is.

I don’t know. Who knows how much the family has already done for Grace? I think there might be something to what the Police Chief said. Sometimes there is nothing more the family can do for an addict and they have to let them go. As painful as that may be. Grace has to want to get clean, accept help & do the work.

"Having the money" does NOT equal "Having the legal authority" though these days, the statutory authority seems to be a LOW BAR under similar circumstances.
Plus, she's probably had several stints in rehab, to no avail. Mama may have decided she's gonna need to hit rock bottom and ASK for help. Prayers for them all, and especially that poor child.

Mug shot looks like amphetamines to me.

I liked the Judds music back in the day. I also had a small crush for Ashley until I found out she was so far left when she protested along with the crowds wearing those pink P* hats.

I think Wynonna and her Mom were very nice people.

Sitting in the slammer with a low bail amount tells me she has burnt her bridges with loved ones.

Had a "relative" once in a similiar situation. Judge lowered bail to $300.00. No one helped BECAUSE of past history.
Yep... at least while she's in jail, they can figure she's probably getting clean, and they don't have to worry if she's entertaining dangerous men while her innocent daughter sleeps (or cowers) nearby.

Terrible situation, just like so many others we never hear about in the everyday citizens.

We had a guy working for us that had a VERY RICH grandma. He got on drugs as a teen. She set aside 20M for him but he had to test clean once a month for 2 years straight. He once got to 20 months clean but fell off the wagon. He is now 27 years old and still working menial jobs and no 20M. Drugs are a terrible thing for some people.

Unless she self commits, there's a host of steps to take in Courts to get her into someone's control, even a parent. Probably enough related fees for some legal eagle to fund a new BMW i7 M70 AWD.

A bloody tragedy in any event.

Pretty sure I don't want to see a list of her tats.

I don't understand why an innocent child is living in these conditions. She needs removed from a dangerous situation right now. If grandmas too busy even a stranger would be better. She has enough money to hire endless nannies for her so why hasn't she? I'd be asking for custody.

I couldn't agree more about those stupid pussy hats. And the attitudes they all had.

It sounds like she is past the point of no return and it seems there is nothing love or money can do. One of DS's friends, he loved like a brother, got there and even DS was powerless to do anything though the good Lord knows he and his wife tried.

His parents felt they had done everything humanly possible. Prison didn't have much of a long term impact...he went twice. It was the only place he was safe from himself, or so we thought until he od'd on fentanyl in there but they saved him. There was nobody more loved by all of us and he was such a wonderful soul. We will grieve his loss til the day we die. The ironic thing is, an overdose did not end his life, he committed suicide which left all who loved him hurting even more but we understood he couldn't take any more.

When his parents get overwhelmed, DS and wife go spend a day or so and it seems to help. They adore them for trying so hard.

Having said all this, I believe there is one thing that makes a difference if they are truly ready to get clean and that is methadone, in a strictly controlled program. I have a couple close relatives...not DH or kids, who had gotten to that point...I prayed without ceasing for years. They decided they wanted to give methadone a try and had heard from some of their buddies how much it helped them so I begged our family to make that happen. They did and both individuals have been clean for close to twenty years but they still take methadone...they pay for themselves now becuase they are productive, hard working people. I realize that is just another drug but it is strictly controlled. They no longer crave anything else and the pain that got them both started is well managed with it. I talked to the parents of DS's friend about it but they were skeptical. I would have paid myself but he was never ready...sadly.

My feeling from my experieces with friends and family, when someone is a hardcore addict, you can't take away the drugs without replacing them with something more than counseling. I don't know why I've felt compelled to share all this...maybe someone on here has a family member struggling and needed to hear it. Feel free to message me anytime if you need to. I'll be glad to share my experiences with trying to save a loved one.

1. Thanks to the demoncrats, the mentally ill now have to GIVE THEIR CONSENT to be hospitalized for drug / mental treatment--and can sign themselves OUT any time they want (and there ARE no more "mental institutions")

2. Also thanks to the demoncrats, the "prime directive" for all child "protection" agencies is NOT "the best interests of the child" but "the REUNIFICATION of the family"--even if that family is more dysfunctional than Satan himself.

Check it out if you don't believe me.

It makes me furious every time I think of the little ones suffering--and those who due to mental incapacities are not capable of taking care of themselves any more than a 2-year-old because some self-described "compassionate" person thought they were better off being "free"--yes, free to live under a bridge.........

God has a plan, Trust it!
Something is very wrong in that family. Each of those "kids" have some serious issues trying to get attention of parents who obviously did not spend much time with them at all.

Rehab doesn’t repair the brain. When the brain is damaged to a certain point, there is likely no going back. Some people may turn to drugs for fun, others to deal with something like abuse. Whatever the reason is for first use, after that it is pure addiction as the brain is altered.

I knew a young heroin addict. Parents had money. He grew up in the rich area of the city. He was a partier, but maybe he was looking to escape some trauma he never told anyone about. During college, someone offered him heroin. Not sure if it was snorted or injected. He did it and said it was the best feeling he ever felt. He said it was such a great feeling that his first thought in his mind the next day after waking up was that he wanted to do heroin again. No thoughts of a sporting event, or school work, or what friends or family were doing, or the weather. The very first thought through this guy’s mind was getting that same high.

It took one time and the brain was chemically altered. Not many people can get that issue fixed in rehab. Last stat I heard was on five percent of heroin addicts who try to quit in a given year are successful for quitting for life. My guess is some people’s brain chemistry allows for less damage and thus they can work through chasing the high. With heroin being replaced by the more potent fentanyl, who knows what the recovery rate is.

Wynonna Judd’s daughter thinks her mom blocked her number after getting slapped with prostitution charges: ‘She thinks I’m out here doing crazy s–t’

"My mom won't listen to me, she won't believe me. She thinks I'm out here doing crazy shit," Wynonna Judd's daughter, Grace Kelley, told The Post in a jailhouse interview. Grace Kelley/Facebook
Wynonna Judd’s daughter says her famous mom won’t take her calls.

“I think she’s blocked my number,” Grace Kelley told The Post during an exclusive phone interview from jail.

Kelley, 27, is cooling her heels in Alabama’s Elmore County Jail after being arrested April 5 for indecent exposure.

This week, she was slapped with an additional soliciting prostitution, according to jail records.

“My mom, she thinks I’m on drugs, right? She wants me to go to rehab. But when I came to jail, I took a drug test, and I passed it. I’m not on drugs. My mom won’t listen to me, she won’t believe me. She thinks I’m out here doing crazy s–t.”

Kelley, who said she lives “here, there and everywhere,” is being held on a $2,000 cash bail.

She said no one from her famous family, including her actress aunt Ashley Judd, or her brother Elijah, a “game warden in the state of Tennessee,” has contacted her.

She wonders if her grandmother Naomi Judd’s suicide in 2022 contributed to her misfortune.

“I don’t know if when my grandma shot herself she like cursed me,” she said.

Cops said they spotted Kelley holding a sign that said “Ride for a Ride” on the side of the road in the Montgomery suburb of Millbrook.

“I was doing it honestly. I literally had a sign that was like, ‘Help me with my ride,'” Kelley insisted.

When officers from the Millbrook Police Department first approached her, she said, “I gave them all my information. I was like, ‘I’m not doing anything wrong. I don’t have any drugs on me.'”

As she crossed the street, away from the cops, she heard sirens.

“The officer that pulled up, he literally told me to get on my f–king knees . . . so I get on my knees and put my wrists out and I said, ‘I am going to keep walking that way because I have a right to travel,'” she recalled.

“He’s like, ‘If you walk that way I’m going to take you to f–king jail.'”

She said she was initially charged with criminal impersonation.

“I said, ‘Well, I hope your body camera is working because I’m gonna have your ass in f–king court because I just gave you all my correct information.”

After her identity was confirmed, she claims her charges were changed to disorderly conduct and obstructing government operation.

She said that was only the beginning of the nightmare.

“They done me wrong, they put me in this chair where they had me strapped down where it literally broke skin. They put me in a padded room with a hole in the floor and they put the lights off on me and I was in there for three days strapped to a chair. No water, no toilet, no nothing,” she claimed.

“My wrists are literally scabbed over from the restraint chair because they did it so tight on me because I was basically cussing all of them, telling them to go to hell because they had no reason to arrest me. When I go to court, all this sh-t will be dropped.”

On her third day in jail, Kelley was hit with the soliciting prostitution charge, according to jail records.

She claimed she was never dressed indecently.

“I was wearing a bra, ok? On top of my bra I had on a sports bra. On top of that, I had on a T-shirt,” she said. “There are women that go jogging every morning in just sports bras.

“On my bottoms, I was wearing a skirt and I had panties on, not a thong, actual underwear. No nipple was shown. No vagina was shown. Nothing was exposed.”

She believes authorities are treating her differently because of her pedigree.

“Cause of who my family is, it’s either a blessing or a curse, it’s almost like they’re trying to throw the book at me. It’s like, ‘Let me do everything I can to make your life hell.'”

The Millbrook Police Department did not return calls for comment.

Kelley — Judd’s daughter with businessman Arch Kelley III, her first husband — has a history of trouble with the law.

In 2015, she was arrested in Nashville, Tenn., and later pleaded guilty to possessing meth.

After she left her court-ordered rehab program, she was sentenced to eight years in prison, but was allowed a temporary leave to welcome her daughter, Kaliyah Chanel, in March 2022.

She was released in December 2022 but by May 2023 was arrested again for violating an order of protection and her parole.

“I just flattened an eight-year sentence, so I’m trying to get back on my feet, but I have no help from family. I have no help from anybody,” she told The Post.

“And I’m trying to do it the right way. I’m trying not to sell drugs. I’m trying not to sell myself. But when you don’t have anybody, what do you do?”

When asked what she would like to say to Wynonna if she could, she said, “I’m innocent.”

Wynonna Judd didn’t return messages seeking comment.

She sounds like an addict I know. Every excuse in the world and nothing is ever her fault. And a complete lack of understanding of what she has already put her family through.

DH has a family member who is the exact same way.
Even now, as he sits in a federal prison for a hideous charge he STILL blames everyone else but the mailman.
If I suggested he blame the mailman I’m fairly certain he’d mull that possibility over as well.

It’s just beyond sad.

No, actually , at this point his constant victim mentality and denial just makes me angry.

Sounds like our DH‘s might share a relative. I’m sorry your family is going through it too.

Some people even here understand this. It's called cigarettes, but those don't count because they are legal. But I remember that first cigarette at 17 and I was completely hooked. I was always craving that next one!

Two months after that first one, I was leaving early in the morning before school to have a few. Sneaking off at lunch to go to my car in the school parking lot. Having my next cigarette was as important as chasing girls.
