What if horses, bicycles and combustion engines were outlawed and the government subsidized 95% of the cost of electric vehicles?
nope again, as seniors we could not take on the cost of a huge car payment without putting us in the poorhouse.
I can't understand how the government or other people in general do not realize most people and families do not have that kind of cash to invest in a car. there are many young families who can't even afford to buy a home.

The problem is Democrats have no idea how to manage anything substantive. The regime in power are the absolute dullest knives in the drawer taking orders from an unseen establishment cabal. Their greatest achievement as career politicians is running up the debt with bridges to no where or the young far leftists are Marxist Community Organizers. They're used to a lap dog MSM never challenging any of their policies, so when they fall apart they're on panic mode blaming anything and everyone for their dumbest woke policy decisions.

They need much smarter and brighter people running our Supply Chain, Power Grid and Federal Reserve before trying to put an EV in every driveway.

Not only no, but he'll no! The new Lucid Air is intriguing but I'll never afford it.
If I were to get an alternative fuel vehicle, I'd want a fuel cell powered one. Like the Toyota Mirai. Put in water it fus the vehicle and spits water out as it's exhaust emissions..

What if you either bought a ev subsidized by the government or your family was forced to relocate to a housing project on the south side of Chicago?

what if we all decided to have dinner on the moon tomorrow?

I'm 64. the ev vehicles are very expensive but are friggin fast. 0 to 60 in 3 to 4 seconds. just a ton of horse power.
that being said, i've always had V8 cars. i now have a silverado v8 pickup. when i start my vehicle, it has to go vrrrooom then settle into a nice brrr brrr brrr. when i get on it, it better sound loud.
the ev vehicles make no sound. sorry, this old dog wants to hear my motor.

I will never be able to afford an electric car. I also do not believe the BS that they are more environmentally friendly because of the mining and production of the batteries and the future disposable of such batteries and the generation of electricity to charge said batteries. It's all a feel-good dog and pony show.

If you buy a vehicle 11 years from now, you will be.
By than, that is all you will be able to buy and maintain.
A bit after that, gas will be unavailable in most parts of the world.

Does not matter what the specs are on the vehicles.

Wife Parents owned a Honda Prius some years back and they bought it used, and for what it is it's a way over priced car.
To replace the battery is a two and a half day job for most people and you have to know what you are doing as the main battery even though its worn out it still has enough power to kill you.

I can't afford one yet, but I would like to have one for my daily commute. I don't see them as practical for long-distance driving for the foreseeable future because you can't charge one as fast as you can fill the average car's gas tank. That's just a deal breaker for me.

Electric cars are a means (scam so far) to usher in big cities. Relocating the masses, and controlling where you go and how far. Not much to do with “ green renewables“ … just tightening the noose around our necks. Not only do they not have plans for the huge infrastructure required, but the maintenance on them will be huge.

Imagine driving from the east coast to the west coast in a EV. As it stands now … never gonna happen. They’re putting the cart before the horse.

Understand they’re robbing the oil subsidies drying up “ big bad oil” putting it into the green industry. Lot easier to hide there … they’re stealing our money.

Never say never, but i still voted no.
The government know full well what they are doing to families and people and they simply don't care.
The idea is to limit your driving so they know who you are, where you are and what you are doing at all times.
The government will even provide a hefty subsidy to make that happen when buying an ev, house or education.
Getting us used to and relying on the free stuff is what is what they do to soften us up for communism.

EV would be alright for me since I seldom drive more than 15-20 miles a day. I still wouldn't buy one since I've never bought a new vehicle for myself and I wouldn't start now. By the time an EV is 6 years old the owner needs to start thinking of replacing batteries that alone rules out buying used since I've never paid as much for any trucks as the batteries cost.

My wife uses her car for work and has to fill up every other day and driving that many miles a day it'd need to be charging almost all the time it's not being driven it seems. How many months of battery life with that amount of charging?

Nope, no EV's here.

MAYBE should have been a poll option. My answer is, only if the current insanity persists and only as a second vehicle.

So far I have been exploring Aptera Motors as an option.
