Misc Will the Left make the IRS the “New SS”?

Trying to keep up
With the passing of this ‘Inflation Reduction’ Bill, I believe the door has opened for them to enhance, or should I say militarize, the IRS. The afternoon talk shows are hinting this way, saying that, even last year, the IRS audited families earning 25K or less 5X more than any prior year.
IMO this is yet another squeeze to our personal freedom!

Could be but I always thought DHS & ATF were in the lead for that "honour". ....

when you take a good look at the IRS they'll typically pick on people who do NOT have the financial ability to "return fire" thru the court system.

another group of individuals I often wonder about as regards their ability to sleep at night

This will make matters so much worse.

Punishment for being independent individuals.

Every dollar one makes with their labors .15 cents or 15% goes to the United States Treasury plus the cost for compliance.

Then if you happened to die early after working your whole life and die before collecting even one red penny of those monies that was stolen from you for your own good they say...

To bad so sad sucker!

All the money you pay in the social security tax is spent before you ever think on collecting your portion of the entitlement.

Tax planning isn’t just for the elite wealthy. Every person that pays taxes should be strategizing before you pay the first red penny or digital dot.

I personally hope they take the gloves off. More faster.
I hope they inflict so much pain on us that people want to make them disappear. Even those in our circle of friends and family that work there. Right down to the newest janitor.

Then implement a flat tax. Never to have payroll taxed again in perpetuity.

Problem is with the level of hatred going on for government at all levels, if they start going armed, it will literally backfire. Government cronies do not like prospects of incoming lead. The ghettos as that sounds more like the segments they will target, will cause the IRS folks to disappear to never appear again.

IRS, to me is a legal body, to deal with.
I deal only with GOD ALMIGHTY, himself.

that's a good opinion and it should be reality... should.

Sort of goes without needing much saying that the govt crooks don't care about good or bad PR anymore, nor what the public thinks of them. Most of them and their minions are un-elected bureaucrats with near permanent tenure. And more importantly, they have the power to freeze or seize bank accounts and property, regardless of what the pubic thinks.
These agencies are politicized with a hard left bend, although really it's just a 1% vs 99% bend, so the weaponization must be being done for their self protection, via direct use or more likely just intimidation of use.

If it's accurate that the IRS will be targeting the low income end, that would be more a psychological attach than a money grab - after all, the big money isn't with the low income category. Or, how to create a new generation of Joe Stacks.

The question was always in the background of why they needed so many guns and ammo. I think it comes to the forefront now.

"...the irs is indeed busting down doors and arresting citizens with its own “swat teams.” It has stockpiled 4,500 guns and 5 million rounds of ammunition for this purpose, and it’s not the only federal agency doing so. A December 2020 report from American Transparency highlights how 103 executive agencies outside the Department of Defense spent $2.7 billion on guns, ammunition and military equipment between 2006 and 2019. The Department of Veterans Affairs spent $11.6 million on guns, ammunition, body armor, chemical weapons and military supplies. The Animal and Plant Inspection Service spent $3.9 million on rifles, ammunition, dart guns, night-vision equipment, unmanned aircraft and the like. Even the Railroad Retirement Board spent $50,088 on guns, ammunition and similar gear (though train robberies aren’t much of a problem these days)."

What can the new congress do to stop them. The way I see it. The new congress can defund the IRS. Or the new congress can pass a flat tax then figure out how many agents to lay off.

Biden is trying to double the amount of IRS agents to nearly 200,000 and hardly anyone is talking about it

The 87k newcomers equals appx 7 Army Divisions...

2 more points you need to think about.

1) the IRS just pitched a shit ton of ammo. They are well over millions of rounds. Why?

2) the IRS is one of the two agencies (the sheriff being the other) who NEED NO WARRANT to enter your home.

Maybe 2 is the reason for 1.

It's not an accident that these two ideologies share common consequences. Fascism is a kind of communism, the only reason people don't believe this is a century-ish of propaganda from communists. Mass murder and genocide are deeply rooted in the "DNA" of communism.

I don't think it is an either/or when it comes to what agency will enforce a US Police State if current trends continue but rather a yes/and one. Administrations from BOTH political parties have flirted with this stuff during most of my life starting with Nixon's "enemies list" (and probably before, but I remember that one) and marching forward bit by bit through the decades.

The excuses vary depending on the political party - Democrats may use collecting taxes and Republicans "The War" on Drugs; both use non-declared "wars" for "emergency" powers.

I've had several friends that got jobs with the IRS (two of them gay by the way) and they ALL quit after a year or two because they couldn't stomach what they were forced to do to people. It is correct that they go after people that can't fight back, rather than people who have a lot of money (most of the time. They also have a cash cow going in the overseas Americans using an act that was supposed to stop billionaires from relocating to tax havens and still enjoy being American citizens, but 99 percent of the time is used against overseas Americans on lower incomes who don't realize they have to file US tax forms anyway and in some cases were simply born in the US but had no idea they were US Citizen. Sometimes they have never even lived in the USA (both parents were citizens but they were born aboard and never applied for a US passport).

That is also why dual citizenship will continue as long as the IRS gets all that lovely money - plus an "exit" tax of several thousand dollars for even the "not born in the US" citizens who didn't know they were citizens in the first place.

They will now start seriously going after low and middle-income people who make honest mistakes, and it may very well end up as part of a growing attempt at overall social and personal control by the government.

Just remember that these new IRS agents will have to justify their new jobs and get results.
Let's hope they have a hard time getting new workers like other businesses so hopefully it doesn't go as planned.

The more the thugs push many independent individuals, the more individuals will just stop producing. This to will increase inflation and at the same time increase less services normally avaliable to the public.

The news will continue to blame capitalism has failed and that Americans just don't want to work, why we need more immigration BS!

Grrr..
