USA Who Is Going to Restoring Honor 8/28?

I had firmly decided we would not be going until just over a week ago.
I cannot explain what changed my mind, but when I did it all fell into place for us.
We will not even be staying overnight, and we're flying.
We found roundtrip tickets for less than $190 per person.
There's just no way we could do the charter bus as the travel time would not fit our work/school schedules.
I cannot tell you how excited we are as a family to go, despite my original security concerns.

Not currently able to afford this kind of trip. Not an avid follower of Glen Beck, even tho I do like him and find him entertaining. As far as security goes, I would not feel any more at risk than if I had to travel to DC for any other event. I do think this is being hyped up a bit for effect and TPTB would love to intimidate possible attendees and keep them at home.
All these things are "bread and circuses" for the peons, i.e. you. Waste of time and money. TPTB have to keep the herd entertained, so they control both sides of the coin. Nobody with any sense really believes that people like Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, and all those on the other side would be allowed to continue unless they were useful tools, do they? All of it is propaganda, mind control, etc. Read the literature, be informed. But always keep in mind that God is in control of it all and His plan will be completed in the end.

As long as we believe that 'all is lost' ALL will be lost.
Yes.... TPTB have a lot of power but when I stand in the midst of my sheep and they get an idea in their heads EVEN though I am their PTB they carry through with their action.
Yes....there is a boatload of "bread and circuses" crafted to keep things under control because they understand how quickly the tide could turn.
But there are 300 million people in this country....and therein is our strength. We must believe in ourselves as a people...as a country.
Quisling...I am not taking you to task here....because I totally feel your frustration...it too is my frustration.
And if our Congress people totally ignore the grass roots movements in this country it will be the opening to sweep the floor.
Look at it this way.
Do any of us know individuals in our respective states that we TRUST enough to send to Congress?
If we do not know anyone these grass roots movements will help us find them.
Can't come to this event right now but you are in my prayers.
I'm not frustrated at all. That is just plain reality. I've studied it for 40 years, and even been "on the inside" to a limited extent on occasion. Someone once said, very wisely imo, if oversimplified in many respects, that God gives the people the leader that their hearts truly desires. We, we got a buch of them. There is not political solution. There is no military solution. If you really want a true solution, get down on your knees and repent before God. There is no other solution.
Go away. If everybody listened to you nothing would ever get done.
Nothing meaningful WILL ever get done by human willpower. IT won't happen. Never has for any length of time, and won't happen now.

Bread and Circuses
There is certainly never any shortage of "bread and circuses," but that does not mean we should simply give up or become disengaged. Loved Dio's comment about the post number. One must maintain a sense of humor. I was only loosely aware of this event and will not be in a position to attend. However, I think it is wonderful that such an event can still be held. For how much longer remains to be seen. In a general sense I think Glenn Beck is an honest and concerned citizen. I do find some of his dramatics to be unnecessary and off putting at times, but I guess we live in a world that expects to be entertained while being informed. For all who can attend I pray that it proves to be an educational and enlightening forum. By the way, I also enjoyed the survey questions. Again, keep a healthy sense of humor.

Again I totally agree with you.
I too studied all of my adult life. I have been politically involved and became convinced that my efforts were largely wasted...the time was not right.
But I will not give up...I will never give up.
This country was founded by some of my ancestors and I will not dishonor their efforts or memory by turning my back on their sacrifices.
So I became non-partisan, I only speak up when the time is right so my effort is not wasted and I wait and pray.

We've seen the cost of complacence, he's sitting in the Oval Office laughing his scrawny ass off at these conservative demonstrations. He's got over 2 years left to complete his agenda of dismantling what was once the United States that most of us remember from our childhood.
The trouble is most conservatives are nice people. They think that the violent demonstrations that the lefties put on are just a bunch of whack jobs who the government puts up with. They put up with them because they can't control them.
Until the conservatives get truly pissed off and start this little revolution that we all keep hearing and wanting to take place, we're destined to sit at home, watch TV, and check our preps while the rest of the world collapses.
If you can't go to this event, then help somebody go! Support the organizations who are sponsoring it. Talk, Talk, Talk, to all you know about what the latest attack that o is doing to the country.

I have bolded the lines that impressed me the most out of your tremendous statement. The bread and circuses sure isn't the patriots, it's the ENTITLEMENTS. Review the history of bread and circuses in the Roman Empire. It was not those who loved the Republic that were captivated by it, it was those who continually had their hands out for the freebies.

I bought my airline tickets months ago.
Even before Sarah said she was speaking there.
I'm gonna spend 3-4 days before the event just walking around DC and seeing the sights.....as I have never been there before.
My cousin and his wife are going too.

What I know about 8/28 Restoring Honor:
- The biggest cost of this event is security
- The security is being provided by the same people who provide personal security for Glenn Beck
- Capital Police will also be part of the security detail
- Apparently secret service are also participating in security
- Charity auctions have been going on for several months now to secure funds for this event
- You would be surprised at the people who've donated to this auction
- There are many backers/supporters of this event that Glenn will not publicly name at this time to prevent them being attacked/smeared, but we will know at this event who they are
- NO signs are to be taken/waved at this event
- It is not a political event, but about RESTORING HONOR
- Military hero's will be honored at the beginning of this event
- The gal that sings "I am America" will be there (GREAT song/video)
- The artist who painted the pic in my sig had donated a lot of prints of this piece to be auctioned to help pay for 8/28
- He died a week before he was to sign these donated prints
- I heard Glenn break down at the end of one radio show when he was given a note of support from the head of an organization....he was blown away, but will not "out" them to protect them from attack (I'm sure we'll know on 8/28)

As far as I'm concerned, Glenn Beck is a Patriot. Eventually he will be brought down, or We the People will gain some freedom back...either way, I've listened to him for years and believe he is doing what he can for the country.

It would be a great way to disseminate knowledge about our most important document.
