HEALTH Where to Buy Cheapest Injectable Insulin?

I didn’t read the whole thread. Recently FJB ordered that companies price their insulin low wenough for everyone to afford. I believe that order has gone into effect.

I can afford it only because we prepped for medical issues ... just not this early in life. But what I'm seeing people pay, or their insurances pay, is not long term affordable. It takes medicare and tricare to cover my parents' medication costs and they still get caught sideways on occasion when the rules change and something is no longer covered and the doc has to change their meds.

Now if I could just find in-home care for my dad. Just enough to help my mom by helping dad take a shower, some OT, some PT, and give her the occasional break just to get away for an hour or so. She wants to go out and have a girls day but no way can we take Dad with us. Sigh. That's a completely different topic.

Yes, once again, exactly! One way to prepare is financial.

I will add a very important note; get thee thy assets into a trust! Do it now! Many states have a five year look back.

Your second paragraph is what I am referring to in my previous post.

They likely would need to go through the Aging & Disability Resource (ADRC). This agency will put a lien against their personal property (i.e., hose, vehicles, other assets) to pay for said in-home services.

Done a decade ago when we started estate planning. And our business is in multi-member LLCs and a partnership. We also have life insurance out the whazoo that acts as an investment as well as a payout. We also have a couple of things that have Long Term Care attached to them. We were never interested in being dependent on social security and pretty much never trusted it to be there if we do need it. I've seen too many people go broke despite social security, pensions, insurance, and medicare.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Trump was the first to lower insulin prices then FJB screwed that up then reintroduced the bill and took credit for it.

The wife and I take a new insulin ( I think it's new ) Humulin R U-500, it's 5x concentrated. It's amazing.

Nor do you ever want to be one!
My last A1c was 6.2

Not good, as I was 5.6 before that. Saw my regular Doctor last week, and he acted like no big deal. He did let me know, he's joined the diabetic club. Started on Ozemptic, and he's down in the 5.5 range. He said his weight just dropped off him. He wants me to do a glucose tolerance test, and another A1c. I hope to surprise him, as I've gone Carnivore for almost a month now. We'll see.

Yes. It takes planning.

I'm almost amazed at how few people have life insurance, especially when they're young, healthy, and married. It's easy to get riders for family.members. Seems like everyone expects the government, or GoFundMe to take care of them.

When I was working, the companies usually provided life insurance equal to our yearly salary. I could also buy additional coverage cheap, like $30 per two week pay period for $100,000. I had my son, who was in his early 20's most of that time, as the sole beneficiary, as his Mom was deceased. With a double indemnity for accidental death, he would have received almost half a million dollars. It probably would have ruined him, and or he would have blown through it in a year. What to do?

To help everyone here, if they qualify, here is the Novo/Nordisk website that will help with various meds-including Ozempic and many other diabetic meds and even pen needles or syringes. If you have medicare and your income(for a family of 2) is less than $81,760 you qualify.

I am hoping that now that I have a plan for the gastroparesis that I can find a way to get off the insulin.
Ozempic can be a cause of this.

Everyone who is considering taking ozempic, or is taking ozempic, please watch this video by Dr Ardis, about it.

Have it go to a trust you set up for him. There are ways to do this, I just don't know all of the legalities per state. We are looking at "gifting" to avoid some estate taxes. We haven't finalized everything, but we also have life insurance for them that if they so choose, that if we pass before them, they can continue to pay on it then get a pay out when they turn 65 and then change the beneficiary to be whomever they choose.

We've matured our view and are of the mind "Die with Zero" which is why we are looking at gifting the kids money each year to try and control what, if anything, is left at our passing.

I only took one dose of Monjourno (not Ozempic). It did not cause the gastroparesis. It was the septic shock from last year.
