Hands down
My single most feel good
I’m kinda down movie
Song of Bernadette

Most don’t know the history of the movie
But
The BOOK was written by a Jew fleeing germany. Franz Werfel
He and his family hid in the region of France where the events of Bernadette happened
So they were very familiar
He and family boarded a train bound for Spain. False identification
At one town. Nazi SS boarded and started checking papers please
Franz prayed to God to get him and his family to spain
As the nazis approached he told God he would write the story of Bernadette if they were spared
Inexplicably. The Nazis went right past he and his family. As if they were not seen
(Cloke of God)?
They made it to Spain then America
As promised. Franz Werfel wrote the book of Bernadette. Which became a best seller. Which became a motion picture best seller
Which propelled Jennifer Jones to stardom

A prayer to protect a certain family

This is how the story of Bernadette was brought to America

The power of prayer against evil

I might add. I have the book. 1st edition. That my mom bought in 1943
All us boys. It was required reading
I hope this little story brings hope and joy to all who read this

The above is listed in the forward of his book. It is not mentioned in Wikipedia

Only one including ones that I've seen and think worthwhile:

A Shot in the Dark

Office Space

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

The Jerk

The Ladykillers

Back to the Future

Up in Smoke

The Hammer

Has No Life - Lives on TB
Besides Christmas movies, I don't do a ton of movie re-watching. There's a ton out there I still want to sample, which I do regularly.

One I have re-watched a time or two is "Dead of Night", from the 40s. It's horror but no gore or jump-scares. More psychological and atmospheric, which is often my favorite.

Also, you can't miss with "Airplane" or "Blazing Saddles" for light movies in the comedy category.

I guess I'd have to add "Two Mules for Sister Sarah". Not a big fan of Shirley McClain, but dayam, she nailed this character!

There are 3 movies I have watched over and over. Dances with Wolves, Calamity Jane with Jane Alexander and Frederick Forest, Buffalo Girls with Angelica Houston and Melanie Griffith.
Back in the day she was hot.

Movies not mentioned (I think)

Family Man
Sherlock Holmes
The Natural
Eagle Eye
Dejavu
Murder on the home front
Fury
Trading Places
The Thirteenth Floor
Bullitt
The Big Sleep
Memphis Belle
For love of the game
True Grit (newest one)
Support your local sheriff
A good year
The Interpreter
Grand Tour Disaster in time
Shining Through
Sherlock Holmes
The Natural
The Two Jakes
Eagle Eye
Doc Hollywood
Chinatown

Kritter

The one and only...
First choice: The original National Velvet. There's something so comforting and warm and joyful about it, always rights my mood. Second choice: The original Roman Holiday. Because young Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck are both visually stunning and had fabulous voices and everything about that movie is enchanting.

Thank you for sharing this. My home parish is "Our Lady of Lourdes" so I'm familiar with St. Bernadette and with the movie, but had never heard this story.
