I'm seeing the word in several places lately. I looked it up but was still unsure what it means. TIA

I had to look it up, also. Never heard of them before today. Same with the Houthis when they were all of a sudden front page news. Houthi who?

It seems like these obscure groups are vying for their 15 minutes of fame.

Both groups were causing all spurts of problems back in the 90s

Eritrean=negroid
Eritreans are not negroid. At the time they were considered black caucasians. ( I guess caucasian is no longer a racial group? When did that happen? So now they are not black caucasians.) I have no idea what they are considered now. (For that matter, I have no idea what the caucasian part of me is now called.) I was told they have racial ties to Egyptians.
I lived there as a child. Most of the Eritrean people are good people, just like anywhere else in the world. My family helped our maid's son by paying his way in advance through high school. It wasn't free there. Mabrot was a lovely, loving woman whom I still miss. She spoke seven languages. I played with her son. He wanted to learn to fly jets and come to America.

My Dad was a volunteer teacher at the university in Asmara. He taught physics and I think chemistry. On his last day, his students all stood as he left the room, in respect and to honor him. I had gone with him for that last class. It was hard for him to leave, but we had to return to the states. He inadvertently left his briefcase in the classroom. Every student was still there, standing, when he returned for it. He enjoyed teaching there. The students were all very eager to learn and worked hard.

The world has changed. Eritrea was part of Ethiopia at that time. It became a free country in 1993.

Their war of liberation was brutal, I heard it described as a WW1 style in tactics

They are called black caucasians because no one wants to admit that there are more than three races! There are three archetype races and each archetype has a minimum of three sub races. It doesn’t mean that these sub races are inferior, they are simply not the main arch type. Wikipedia has a decent article on the topic.

Did you mean sangfroid??
No Just Sand Groid.

Meaning like all the other assorted Arab/ African areas in and around the middle east , Egypt etc...are all desert dwellers, still just Groids in the grand scheme, hence Sand Groids. ( Similar to Island Groids)

2 of my favorite places to visit are in the bottom 10
Last, Nepal
Close to last, Nicaragua.

The people in both countries were very kind, especially, Nepal. In my 2 weeks in Nepal, I never heard a child crying or acting up.

Small country north of Ethiopia on the Red Sea run one of the worlds most brutal dictators. Half the country supports him and the other half tries to rid themselves of him. Lukewarm warm IQ in the 60’s with a chance of splattered brain matter.
