Good Morning, All! Hope this post greets you on a beautiful day - it's another lovely cool morning here; supposed to get a little hotter as the day progresses, but that's okay - I'll enjoy the cool temps on my way to work!

With preparation for the wedding in full swing, my preps have taken a back seat the past couple of weeks. I managed to stop last night at CVS and snagged 2 cartons of Boost Plus at $11.49 each - $1 off each carton sale = $21. Used $2 off $20 purchase scanner coupon, 2 - $3 Boost Coupons, $4, $3, and $1 Extra Care Bucks to bring my out of pocket down to $5 plus tax; got back a $6 Extra Care Buck. This is a monthly deal and will run through September 20.

I have about a 2.5 month supply at 1/day for Hubby on hand at present. This sale is limit 8 and I have 11 more coupons that I can use - some of them thanks to a lovely friend :D There is another Boost sale going on as well, Buy 2 for $14, get a $3 ECB, which, with the coupons, would work out to a net cost of 2/$5; that deal is limit one, so I will do it once each on my card and Buddy's card, and that will likely run me out of coupons for the time being. It's not a bad thing to have on hand in an emergency situation; some of the types pack a lot of protein in a little bottle - just wish it was a protein source I could use, but at least I'll have it on hand for Hubby.

Only 2 more work days before I go on vacation until the 22nd! Wedding preparations will keep me busy the rest of the week; then I'll be riding herd on the grandkids until the 18th; at least I get three days of it to myself!! I can not believe the grandkids schedules!! Two are in school 5 days a week, one three days a week, cheer practice, band practice, soccer practice, soccer games, cheering AND band at football games, ninja school, club meetings, special snacks for school, a bake sale, at least one program to attend - at least I don't think I have a field trip in there anywhere!! I'll have at least one activity going every day after school; usually more than one - no wonder my daughter loves her crock pot so much - and, hey - I can feed 'em supper from the concession stand at the football games a couple of nights

I printed off a couple of weekly calendars for the time period and foraged in the office/school supply storage tubs for a package of pens with varied color ink - let's see.... Orange for youngest grandson 'cause 'Dat's my fav'rit color!' as he so often tells me. Superman blue for older grandson of course, purple for grandaughter, black for Papaw, and fire engine red for the lady in the corner pulling her hair out

Well, glaring at the clock hasn't slowed it down any, so I guess I'd better go pull on some scrubs and get ready to head to town - you folks all take care; stay safe out there!!

All I can think is that you type really fast, Renee, or you never sleep! The sun is out and I'm hoping the humidity will drop so I can make jam today. Yesterday, I canned up a five gallon bucket of wild plums that I juiced, and a case each of plums and peaches. I got bread and butter pickles with jalapenos started that I need to finish today. I'm hoping I can can up some crabapple jelly and some apricot bavarian cream jam. If the weather cooperates.

I have to work Monday and Tuesday, then I"m thinking about dragging DH to Denver on Wednesday. We need to hit Habitat Restore for a new window for the pasture house that got broken a few days ago (while DH was gutting the inside of the house). It's OK - I didn't like it anyway!! I'd like to hit the bread outlet, and the discount grocery as well. Mom and Dad are coming to visit for a few weeks, and it's hard for Dad to get out and go shopping (he's 91 and mom is 87 - and yes, mom is driving here (yikes!). Then it's back to work on Thursday, parents here Friday, and I work Saturday and Sunday. Then ..... vacation!!! Well, staycation - and I"m great with that!!

To the Colorado folks, Eshs in Greeley (Evans) closed and they opened a new store (bigger and better from what I hear) in Loveland just north of the UPS depot. Their prices are about the same as prior (meaning you have to watch), but they have lowered prices if you buy in bulk. My friend bought almond butter that sells for around $20 a jar at King Soopers for $6.

Never heard of Eshs...........Loveland is too far for us to shop.......miles and miles and miles.....the farthest we go is a 20 mile circle......almond butter is my preference and it's price is escalating again...are almond crops failing??? Yikes.........

I'm concerned about water...........stored some but need more.....just not enough room........I try to buy it in glass containers.......stores longer but expensive.......

you should think about using any surplus canning jars to store water - if you want glass it's as cheap as you'll get ....

80 WPM and not nearly enough, Moldy

Sooooooo glad to be on vacation! Slept in until 7 am, drank coffee, read the 'net, then got busy... Finally got all the canning jars ready to take to the florist for daughter's wedding arrangements and got them dropped off, hauled apple crates, washtubs, buckets and soda over to her Dad's (two trips), picked up the platters (75 cents each on clearance woo-hoo!) for the relish trays/meat 'n cheese platters/fruit platters that I'll be fixing for appetizers for folks to nosh on while waiting for the photographer to finish up, went to the grocery store twice, hit the farmers' market, waited to have a tire fixed (picked up a screw somewhere), popped in to the foo-foo bakery (there was a parking space right in front; it was meant to be ), cut up a couple of watermelons, and now am relaxing while reading a bit more online.

Hubby had to go in for 4 hours of training this morning; not sure what he did this afternoon while I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but he's catching some rest now. He has to work his normal shift tonight, then stay over 4 hours in the morning for more training; he does the same thing tomorrow, but just works his normal shift on Friday - thank goodness!! He's already grumbling about working two 12 hour shifts. It's a little hard for the person who's been working 12 hour shifts for much of her work life, and overtime a lot of those work weeks to summon up much pity - but I try!!

I doubt I get anything prep related done this week. Don't have a clue what tomorrow will bring other than I need to wash Hubby's new slacks and shirt and decide if I'm going to buy him a tie or not. I think I'm supposed to pick up younger grandson after school; might do some 'town' laundry while I'm waiting for him to get out. Still need shoes for the wedding; I was rummaging around in the closet trying to find my black dress pumps when I suddenly remembered that the heel broke off one of them when I was getting ready to go to my Dad's funeral *10 years ago*, and I'd never replaced them, so I guess maybe I need to go to town. Guess I don't dress up very often, do I?!

No clue on Thursday either, other than grandson's soccer practice if it's not storming like the forecast is calling for. I'm just planning on hanging loose in case daughter calls with an errand or something. Friday will be prepping the appetizer trays and taking them out to the spare fridge at daughter's Dad's house. I may pick up the boys Friday night - I have to have them at the wedding site and ready for photos to be taken no later than 3:15 on Saturday; I'm thinking I'll dress them AFTER we get there! And maybe myself, too!

The boys will come home with us after the wedding (and possibly the girl, too!); then we'll be back at the site around 9am to start cleaning up everything. I'll drop the kids at daughters, then run home to pack what I need for the week plus stay at her house - including MY kind of food and my coffeepot lol! - before heading back in to town to begin my stay. I'm going to try treat it as a vacation - there is a used book store, thrift store, foo-foo bakery, hamburger joint, very nice park and a lot of other things all within walking distance of their house :)

Well, I think I hear some of that vanilla bubble bath sis-in-law got me for Christmas calling my name, so I think I'll go pamper myself a bit :D

Take care, all; wishing you a great week!

Worked a 15 hour day yesterday, and 12 hours today. Some were incentive shifts (extra $175 per shift plus overtime). Signed up for an herb class, THEN read the syllabus. WHAT WAS I THINKING???? There are chemical terms in there I don't remember from HS chemistry 30 plus years ago!!! I've got some serious studying to do, but I"m kinda excited. Tomorrow, I'm planning on talking DH into going to a Habitat Restore to browse for home improvement project supplies, and to hit the discount grocery. He is driving out to get my folks on Thursday, and back on Friday.

Had some work done on a shed. In the wood that was replaced a piece was found that was about the size and length of seven inch 2/4. A notch was carved into one side it was about: four inches long, an inch wide and an inch and a half deep. The notch was empty but left me wonder what it's purpose had been.

Am still continuing to work a lot of hours. Overtime is nice :) I've been fighting a cold this last week thanks to the grandbabies. The only liquid that tastes good is Gatorade. I found I have a preference for it over Powerade, though I will drink both. Cleaned out last year's stock and am working on this year's supply. Might have to get some more for the shelves.

I hit the thrift stores this week. Ours are terribly overpriced and don't have great deals like a lot of people seem to find. I did find a nice covered skillet, 2 huge (2 ft long) pillar candles, some pillowcases, some cooking utensils, and a nice stainless bowl, along with a pair of jeans and a flannel shirt. Found lots of stuff for the grandbabies as they are growing into the next size.

There are actually a few things on sale this week, mainly meat, so I intend to do a little stocking up. Some 85% lean ground beef and some london broil in particular will find a new home in my freezer. Some cat food at Publix will probably finish the shopping for the week. Topped the car off again today--price said $2.16 a gallon, but rang up at $2.06 a gallon. Don't know why there was a difference, but I'll take it.

Been doing a lot of going over gear, and rotating food here. Tore out the garden as its pretty much done for the season, and also finally built one of these alcohol stoves I have been wanting to build for years now. Here is my build video. Handy little thing to have around for power outages or for camp/bugout situations as well.

Mom and Dad are visiting, and I am on vacation for the next 2 weeks. Lots of plans, but I may not be posting much. Keep on keeping on, all of you!
