Well, that was a busy several days!! I'm glad to be down to just babysitting the grandkids for the rest of the week - won't get any prepping done, but at least the pace is (a little!) slower! I discovered that Common Core Math is being taught in older grandson's kindergarden class - so I guess I'm going to have to spend a little time brushing up on it (oh yippee); his other homework isn't giving me too much trouble yet
Sometime today, I need to find some magazines to go through with younger grandson to look for things that begin with the letter T and letter P, then cut out so he can take them to school tomorrow. Granddaughter - thank goodness! - has a friend who is helping her with her Algebra homework while her Dad is gone. This evening is ninja school for younger grandson, followed by a supper of leftover meatloaf from last night with some sort of vegetable older grandson will eat. All the kids get out of school at 11 tomorrow; granddaughter has a friend coming home with her, so we will have to figure out something to do between then and when the girls go to their tumbling class at 6:30 - maybe I'll let the girls fix supper!! Wonder if granddaughter's friend likes tuna cassarole??? If not, it may be fajitas made from the leftover wedding dinner smoked pork loin and peppers from the relish tray
Thursday the older two will be in school all day, so if the weather is cooperative, younger grandson and I may go to my work town and get a load of mulch; then come home and get it put down in the flower beds that still need it. I also need to harvest some herbs for drying before we get a sneaky frost. Then, after supper, we have soccer practice for older grandson from 6-7 pm - I sure hope I don't have to take Son-in-law's place as coach! Maybe I'd better watch some youth soccer videos tonight so I'm clear on the rules! Friday, my morning is free after the kids go to school; Friday afternoon I'll be going to Grandparent's Day at kindergarden for older grandson; then Friday evening we have a high school football game where granddaughter will play in the band and we will all go if the kids want. Saturday is soccer for older grandson in the early afternoon, followed by a JFL game that granddaughter cheers at in the early evening.... Hopefully, daughter and son-in-law will get home Saturday evening; that will leave me 4 days of vacation to rest up before I go back to work
It will be nice to be back in the relative peace and quiet of home!!
I haven't seen this week's ads yet, so don't know if there are any bargains or not - not that it matters much as what of my disposable income the wedding didn't suck down has been spent bringing daughter's house up to my standards LOL! Bath towels, kitchen towels, a dish drainer, fly swatter, my preference in food, etc...
Well, I guess I can claim one prep for the week - I had to buy 8 - 10' x 25' sheets of heavy black plastic the morning of the wedding to supplement all the tarps her Dad and I could come up with, thanks to a major rain storm the night before. We spread them with straw (which he then used to mulch/seed his river bank area) for the wedding, then we took them up the next day and let them dry out. I picked them up yesterday and brought them home today, so I guess we'll have them on hand if we have any sort of an emergency that they'd be useful for!
Guess I'd better get moving if I want to get everything done I need to do today! Take care all; have a great day!
