I just got back a little while ago from wm. I was in there what seemed like forever and thought I wasn't going to make it when I got out to my van to get my purchases in the back. I always like to bring DH something to eat when I go to town but was unsure I could do it, but after resting in the van for a little while I perked up and got his food.

I looked again for the crockpot liners in the place where wm told me they had 86 packages of them, same place all ya'll said they were and still could not find them. The must be hidden, I'm going to order some from amazon.

I saw some nice long sleeve shirts from omar and bought three, nice colors, all have red in them, its my color.

I've been wanting a 4' table, 2' wide and found one at wm. I need it to sort through things and a place to do my jar sealing on instead of the table in the mud/sand room.

I bought two cans each of beef gravy, mixed vegetables and diced potatoes for storage. Oh and I may have gotten two cans of pickled beets, can't remember.

DH slaudered one of his wild pigs today, and while I was gone he got it processed and vacuum sealed in the freezer. He had three more to go. He's doing more steak than ground right now. He's got jerky going in his dehydrator out in his processing shed.

Today was a beautiful fall day. DH separated the goats, the youngest ones in the south pasture and the older breading ago ones in the north pasture up near the house. I stopped and visited with the babies when I was coming home.

yesterday when I was in walmart I had to sit down and rest and the only place to sit down is at the pharmacy. There were two ladies sitting in chairs where they wait for their shots. I asked them if they were waiting for shots and they said yes. I said flu or covid, they said covid. One was younger and the other older on oxygen. The younger one kept turning away from me. I actually got up and stood in front of them. I asked the younger one if she'd had covid shots and she said yes, all of them. To which I said Oh! The older one said she was just trying to stay alive. By that time the younger one got up and moved to the other side of the older one and stood up. I realized I was upsetting them so I left.

More often than not I start conversations with strangers, I'm generally not particular who it may be. Sometimes I ask if they had the "shot", some say yes and some say no. If they say yes, I say "God Bless You" and move on, if they say no we have a conversation.

Of course, I have big opinions on vaccinations, but I am trying not to voice them with vaxers. No sense in really saying anything, its their choice, just like its my choice not to vax.

I just need to pray harder for God to keep his hand over my mouth.

Or perhaps you are planting seeds that they will think of later.

Trying to figure out what must be canned before surgery as I won't get much done the following 3 weeks. So far, I've started roasting apples for sauce, cooked a load of beets, and started cooking some pork to can. Got a freezer reorganized and a load of laundry started.

I will let you all know when surgery is scheduled and will have DH update everyone when I'm out. Surgeon said within 2-3 weeks, so the clock is ticking for all the stuff I need to get done.

Splitting and stacking more firewood, doing laundry, and cleaning the house. Today is our anniversary, so I'm making Cary one of his favorite meals.... bacon cheeseburgers with all the trimmings and homemade French fries for supper, tonight. I've got the burgers marinating already.

Happy Anniversary SB and CaryC.

And Prayers for Moldy.

Its a lazy fall day, really nice outside and not too warm inside without a/c. for some reason DH has been burning pine in the wood stove. Its not like we don't have three years of cut hard woods, Pine smokes and gives me a headache and makes me stuffed up and my nose running. I mentioned it but refrained from bitching about it. He just brought in hardwood.

I finally got the remainder of the groceries out of my van and in the house. Now to get them put away, there isn't much to put away. I bought a 10# bag of sugar, although I have four of them that are hard as a rock. Two fits into a 3 1/2 gallon tote so I'm putting them in the she shed. I have other sugar to use first. The one I got yesterday is going in a canister before it gets hard. Since I only use cane sugar I want to keep getting it while its still available. WM was completely out of their granulated sugar in 10# packages, which I would not buy anyway. Super 1 has their own brand of cane sugar, so I may have to buy it there, price is not bad.

I can't seem to get motivated today to get much done. I've still got part of the mess DH made processing the pig to get washed up.

I wanted to go to Dollar Tree yesterday but when I got out of wm I was so wiped out I just could not do it. We go to another town after church and I'll go to the dollar tree there. I'm seeing more and more of the dollar tree and family dollar combo stores, that may be the wave of the future for the dollar tree. With the cost of goods getting so expensive that may be the only way they can half way survive. Getting stuff for a dollar will just be a memory.

Next month I'm going to get a spare tire for my van. It didn't come with a spare or a donut. Hopefully I'll still be able to find one.

Happy Anniversary SB and Cary, you have one year on us. We have only 45 years together.

Windy here today. I have been mowing the field areas close to our buildings for fire mitigation. Still have a lot to do and will do more this afternoon. I did wash and slice a bunch of strawberries that are now in the dehydrator.

Happy Anniversary SB and Cary!

Had 25 wild turkeys in the front yard this morning. They love the swamp. Unfortunately, it isn't turkey season. Besides, they are my babies. Been watching them since they hatched, and I am not that hungry yet.

Got 4 racks of venison ribs in the pot. I will finish them in the oven when they get tender. Fortunately. It is deer season!

Congratulatios, Sherree and Cary!!

SwampMom, I'm waiting for the pheasants and quail to show up under the birdfeeders again - might take a while for them to pick the fields clean before they venture the bird feeders though

Moldy, prayers continue for you..

The two younger grandsons and I just got back from the local greenhouse/pumpkin patch - it was great!! They had a cool trail through their woods, and one of their labs joined us - guess we didn't need to worry about getting lost  We bought pumpkins and mums after we got back from the trail.

Judy, do you want a 'donut' or do you want an actual spare tire? If you want an actual spare or replacement rim/tire check at a junkyard. Take a pic of your current rims, and make sure that everything is the same size. Hubby said 'You can just get a donut; there is a place to mount it under your van." I told him to figure out a way to safely mount an actual tire in or on the van - A: I'm not crawling under a vehicle; and B: that way if one of the current tires/rims gets damaged, I'll have one that matches. A little under 5K miles till I hit 100K; but the word is that the Dodge Caravans go 200,000 easily. I've got a few more years to work, so it should get me through.

I want a spare tire and I know that I have to get a rim. There is a hidden well inside the back of the van that I think it will fit. I have a 2004 Honda Odessey . The van belonged to my mother and maybe they did something with the donut or spare and didn't replace it. I just barely have 100,000 miles on it and have only some minor work done on it. The strangest thing that happened was the motor on the two side windows in the front broke at different times. Once before DH and the second one after that he repaired.
