Just picked up sweet potatoes from Wegman's Thanks Giving Sale. $0.39 cents a pound! $3.90 for ten pounds of food that will keep in a cool dark basement till spring. It may be eaten long before spring gets here. Where is that happy dance icon?

I bought 40# of sweet potatoes at Kroger for .33 cents a pound. I still have about half a box I bought earlier. I have to make sweet potatos to take to holiday dinners.

I met with the ginseng buyer one more time. I had $57 in herbs and roots. No ginseng on my place. But next year i willhave all growing season to collect, so i should do better. I got a very late start this year. I also sold another $145 in square bale hay. We only got one cutting since we did not purchase the land till August. We will see how hay goes next year. We still have some in the barn to sell. Folks will be looking, especially if it is a bad winter.

I am not cooking turkey this year. We will eat at hubbys parents tomorrow. They will have 3 turkeys. Then our kids work Friday andI have to do my contract job Saturday. So I told everyone that they could come Saturday at 5 for cream tacos and pie. I can get that done and it is always a treat.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Finally have some time. I figured how to sell my antler stash. Curious to see how much.

Trapping is legal, but not too safe. I sold more wood. Not feeling excited to trap as prices are down. Time to check wood stove. We're having restful holiday.

I am working on winter get home bags for my adult son, his wife and my two wee precious grand daughters. Mom has a habit of driving off without even a coat for any of them. This may be Oregon but we do get cold rainy days! I may have to throw the bags in her trunk, but by golly they will have something.

Moldy, cream tacos is a dip. When I was a 4H leader, the kids looked for any excuse to have a club partyso I would make them.

Cream Tacos
1# browned hamburger
1# velvetta
1 can chili beans
1 block chili or equivilent of homemade chili
1 can rotel
1 cup heavy cream
Mix all but the cream heat on low till cheese is melted. Turn off heat and stir in cream. Serve with corn chips.

Thanks, Digger. We just call that Rotel, or Rotel dip.

Drove home yesterday, and today my back is killing me. Not sure if it's my bed, or sleeping in DD's bed the last 3 nights (a full size is just not big enough for my 6'3" DH and me!), or the 8 hour drive. We did find a house for mom - long story, short version - mom sold her old house, went into a rental thinking that was what she wanted. Decided to buy another house (which DH and I are thrilled about). The house is lovely and all on one level (mom is 89). Got to see and spend time with 3 of my 4 kids. I've been doing a lot of work with flower essences (woo alert), and found that this visit caused me much less angst. Since I can only change myself and my attitudes, that's what I've been working on. Got to spend a lot of time with DH, which was awesome since it feels like we hardly see each other while we're both working so hard.

Hope Thanksgiving was great for all my TB peeps!

Your recipe looks good for cream tacos. Please tell us
what a block of chili is or the weight of this item so we can use
the equivalent in home made chili.

Thanks in advance.

I think a block is about a pound or used to be anyway. I have used a can of chili before. I have also used a 2 cup bag of homemade chili that I had in the freezer. I prefer to use the homemade when I have it.
