I'm trying to finish the laundry: car blankets, this week's laundry, and the couch throws. It's going to be a good drying day, and then the humidity comes back.

I've got to go mower shopping in a bit. Fortunately, I found two sales. It's going to cost close to $300 to repair my mower and is only guaranteed for one year, plus it'll take 6+ weeks to get the parts. I can't wait that long.

Hummingbirds have been sighted in my area. I'll put the feeder out later. I wouldn't do that normally, but there's not a lot for them to eat right now.

Cary and I had a great time on the town, yesterday. I got what I wanted for my BD and Mother's Day. I needed new knives for the kitchen, so I got a chef's set that also includes steak knives. I also got 2 new bottles of body spray from my favorite store. Cary got a steak dinner out of the deal, LOL.

We are going to spend the day with Mom, today. Another nice day, but cold this morning. 47 degrees. 73 and windy for our high, today.

My compression sleeves came, very very difficult to get on, super tight. The two of us managed to get the right sleeve on, it’s my worst arm. I do see where it will help, hopefully the fabric will give a little, they had all kinds of colors but I got grey because lol it won’t show dirt as quickly.

I laid down on dh’s bed for a little while this morning and actually fell asleep, I bought him some kind of topper a year or so ago and it makes the bed very comfortable. Makes me wish I had something like that, I think I’m getting tired of the lift chair.

My late dh got very tired of the lift chair and whined at me about not "allowing" him to sleep in our bed. I finally told him to go take a nap on the bed and see how it worked out. Well, he couldn't roll himself over, could not get himself up and had to yell for me to help. End of whining but it was, of course, still my fault. Sounds like you are completely able to get yourself up so why not start sleeping in a bed again.

I'm trying to have a quiet day, but boredom is strong. If I could comfortably read, I'd be okay sitting around, but I can't so I wander around inside and out and keep finding "little" things to do most of which require bending over which is on the do not do list. I keep forgetting so decided it best if I sit again!! Discomfort in the eye is gone but vision is not clear yet.

Wishing you a lot of success with the compression sleeves. Mom now has to wear compression stockings, and she has trouble getting them on and off, too, because they are so tight.

Southern Breeze, happy birthday. :hpbd:

Got up early and went to grocery store to pickup some round steak that my wife wanted. Don't trust online shopper to pick out the best meat. Got what she wanted. The section was pretty picked through. There was one package marked down, but was already turning brown so I didn't get it. There were three packages of 93% lean ground beef marked down that still looked great so I grabbed them.

The quality of their beef has gone down hill the last six months, but is still better than Walmart.

We had a great visit with Mom. I wanted to spend most of the day with her, since I won't be able to, Sunday. She had plans with one of her friends this afternoon, so we had to cut our visit short. She and her friend had plans to go shopping and treat each other to supper for each others Mother's Day gifts to each other.

I gave Mom her Mother's Day gift and some extra spending money for her trip starting next Saturday. She's going to visit my aunt in Alabama for 2 weeks, and they have a trip planned.

I've been wearing the stockings for years. I did not like the brand the VA provided, too hard to get on. I found a brand on Amazon that does the trick and not hard to put on. I'll look for the link.

Well I have work my butt off today so much stuff I can't even remember. But got so much done. I'm going to make an early night of it.
Got my lab work back. My glucose was really high and my A1C is 9.4. well I've had a rough year and have taken to eating too much chocolate. I only eat one meal a day. So I have to really double down on the keto.
Rest of the labs were perfect.

Cataract surgery went well. Very uncomfortable eye today and hopefully less so tomorrow. I had to be at hospital at 6:30 a.m. and was home by 10:00. I had to get up at 4:45 to make it on time ... we were there exactly at
Glad surgery went well!
Those knee pads would be a requirement for me. Crawling around on the ground kills mine. I have a low rolling seat that works well though.

That auger thing Wildwood is what has messed my wrist up. Dh got one and he can use it but when I tried I dislocated my middle finger and did something to my wrist. The finger was fine after I popped it back in place but the wrist has developed arthritis I think.
Only one time down and one up (not sure which is most difficult up or down!). I have knee pads I can use if I remember to put them on.
I'm happy for you that the surgery went well and now you have that chore behind you!

That is pretty much the way I do tomatoes but I do one row at a time. I ordered a small auger on Amazon a few years ago that fits one of DH's big drills so I drill all my holes with it and it makes a big difference. I remember digging them with a sharp shooter but since I do those deep holes, it was a real pain. DH laughed at me at first for drilling holes but then I caught him sneaking my auger to work with him lol. Now he has one that will drill a foot wide hole.

I wear the compression stockings and since I cannot use my thumbs, I have to use my doubled-up fingers to pull them on which is not good for my fingers! Anyway, a friend suggested I use vinyl gloves when putting them on and it does help a lot. Your fingers do not slip like they do naked. I swear putting them on and leaning over to put on and tie my shoes can ruin a day before it's started. Getting them off when sweaty is also the pits.

Mom got her compression stockings from her Vein Specialist. They sell the stockings, sleeves, and knee highs right there in their office, plus they fit you for them. I didn't think the price was too expensive at $18/pair. They had white, tan, and black to choose from. She also bought 2 pair of compression knee highs in black. She also already had stockings and knee highs from the stash my dad had to wear. They have really made a difference in the edema she has in both legs. Stops the pain, too. She's pretty well stocked up for the time being.

We're back into the 80's for our daytime highs and 50's at night. I'm glad to see those temps return. Hopefully, we're over all of this cool weather, so we can finally turn off the propane heater. Cary is going to try and finish stacking the firewood, today, and it's my day to clean house and do laundry. It's cloudy outside, so the laundry will go in the dryer. Rain and storms for tomorrow and tomorrow night. Rain is a possibility for today, also. There was a quick spin up tornado that went between our house and Tupelo the other night. We saw it's path on our way to Tupelo on I-22, Thursday. All tree damage, since it was a rural area with no structures.

The guy who is building the small bug out cabin on his property at the end of the logging road invited me and Cary to come down last night. He had a big campfire going with hotdogs and beverages. It was too late for us when he called. We were already getting ready for bed, or we would have gone. I'm glad he is like minded as we are. An avid Trump supporter and a prepper! We haven't shared anything with him about us being preppers, though. All he knows about us is that we are Trump supporters, Republican, and conservative. I don't know if I like the idea of him knowing anymore than that, even though, we have known him a long time.

Our son came over for a bit yesterday morning. We had a short visit and discussed some things we need to get done on the farm. He got some hay to take home.

After he left to do a couple of things, we went to town. I really prefer to go to town any day but Friday or Saturday. But Friday is how it worked out. We both had list. I think we got everything and a few other things. Kroger had some marked down steaks Hubby snatched up. Still expensive, but $10 off each one. They are nice thick New York strips. We only got sale items but this trip was sticker shock at the register.

We went to Tractor Supply to replace a top link that bent on the tractor. One field was contoured years ago when the government was helping do that to control erosion. It makes it hard to bushhog. But anyway, TS had Buff Orpington chicks. Hubby insisted I get some to go with my lone chick. I got 6 which is the minimum. They are straight run. But if I get 2 good roosters, I will replace the ones I have now. Hopefully at least a couple will be pullets.

I took down some electric fence that we weren't using. That has been on my "to do" list way to long. But it's done and I am glad. I just have to load it in my yard part and put it away. I found what I think is a pecan tree that has come up under our big pecan trees. I am going to dig it up and put it in a bucket till it gets bigger.

Breaks over. Have a blessed Saturday everyone

I got some of the best looking Buff Orpingtons I've ever seen from TS a couple years ago. I hope yours are as nice. They are my favorite chicken...hands down. Americaunas are my second just because they are tough and long lived and I like blue eggs. I've got one here that has to be ten years old and she still hangs with the young girls.

I know what you are talking about. You have to get one with a second stabilizing handle and they won't do that....ask me how I know lol.

I knew something wasn't right when I used it last week but couldn't figure out what was wrong. It had seemed so easy the day before and last year. DH came home and saw the handle on the floor of his shop where I'd laid the drill the day before. I guess it came unscrewed or something. He put it back on, it was night and day difference. I always make sure I have a good grip before I turn it on and now I make sure the second handle is attached.

Yep! Dh can use one without the second handle which is what he handed me..I can't. I tried a couple times and it just wrenched my wrist pretty bad. Of course I didn't go have it looked at cause well it's me and I don't do drs unless I have to. I wrapped it up and went on about my business. But now that wrist is almost unbearable at times. When it rains I have to use a brace to help. I can't lift a carton of milk out of the fridge some days it hurts so bad. Then once the moisture in the air clears up its fine and I can do whatever.

I'm the same about going to the doctor and have been for years. With Medicare it only cost a modest deductible and I still hate to go. I've suffered through a shoulder and then a hip issue that each lasted a year or longer. When my kids were little I'd go if I needed to but some kind of old woman syndrome set in at about fifty lol. I can't take any of the nsaids so that just makes it worse.
