Whew - the graduations are all done and I can - sorta - relax this week. Had the grandsons up until about an hour ago, so taking a minute (okay - 10 or 15 lol!) to start this week's thread before I crawl to the tub and re-adjust my brain for the upcoming work week. The beekeeper dropped off a frames worth of comb honey shortly before I left to take the grandsons home so I may take a few minutes to make myself a cup of lemon balm tea (weeded out of the flower bed and dried on a rack in the kitchen last week) laced with a small chunk of that honey to the tub with me :)

I did manage to get some pantry cleaning and organizing done while the boys put themselves down for a nap - but have plenty more to do. Poor kids - they wanted to play with the hose and some buckets of water, so I put 'em to work washing my van. Older one slowly toppled over on to a floor pillow (dog bed lol!) with a quarter of a grilled cheese sandwich still in his hand, little one made it to the couch at least

Scheduled to work Monday and Tuesday; off Wednesday and hoping to get the handyman out to the farm if the weather cooperates - also hoping to get in a walk or a trip up to the pool with the neighbor lady that day! In to work on Thursday for competency testing (I should have most of them done already) and out to lunch with a group of co-workers. Grandsons to the barber shop that afternoon, followed by a T-ball game that evening; hopefully I will manage to make a dent in the weeding in between everything. I'm pretty much betting the short people follow me home Thursday night, so Friday will be spent hanging out with them while hopefully working in the gardens. Then back to work on Saturday/Sunday/Monday...

No decent sales in the weekend ads again this week; holding out for the mid week ones in hopes of adding a few things to the pantry. I need to spend some time cleaning out and organizing my coupon insert file - been so busy the past couple of months that the coupon shopping has taken back seat to other things; not that there was much worthwhile on sale :p I did find some holes in the pantry while I was organizing today, so it's time to make a list and see what bargains are out there.

That tea is calling my name - between the boys keeping me busy and the lemon balm, I shouldn't have any trouble falling asleep tonight at least!

Take care, All; stay safe out there!!

Just finished a 5 day stretch, and I'm beat. I'm off the next 3 days, and DH has a lot planned. Thursday, some friends and I are making the herb shop rounds - I can't wait!

Today was a bust. Managed to get new phones, get rid of the line for internet, and drop our phone bill by $200 a month. That was great. Then tried to go build fence, but the pasture was a swamp. It may have to wait quite a while since rain is in the forecast for the next 4 days.

Busy three days off work - neighbor lady and I managed one day at aqua aerobics between both our schedules, plus we were able to get in a walk. The handyman and I got lots of maintenance done on the house, shed, gardens and yard, plus got most of the garden planted - on to the raised beds now! I'm losing my handyman - so pleased for him that he was able to find a full time job in his trade (welding) but feeling a bit sorry for myself - and for Hubby, who is really going to miss having him taking a lot of the burden off the Honey-Do list  So proud of the handyman for not giving up on finding a full time job - and for making the handyman job work for him while he was looking for full time.

Still no decent store sales, so the grocery $ envelope is building up a bit. I got tired of waiting for a sale on ketchup so snagged a bottle at Aldi to try - it's a little thin, but the taste is fine, so I picked up a dozen bottles; will use some of it in canning a couple of cases of homemade pork 'n beans next week - if I can keep the grandsons out from underfoot long enough to get it done! Now that the older one can read well and the little one is starting, they have managed to figure out my work days on the calendar daughter keeps on the fridge, so I am getting face timed at 8 am by little boys who want to hang out with Grandma while Mommy has clients  Brought them home with me from the T-ball game Thursday night and kept them until a bit after 6pm last night - and was home, showered and in bed by 8pm (which explains why I woke up at 1am, I guess )

Looks like granddaughter made the cheerleading squad again, so there will likely be a bit more running to and fro in my schedule this year between practice, tumbling, and prepping for camp; followed by football and basketball games to attend this coming school year - plus two nephews moving up from JFL to the middle school football team, and one still in JFL to watch. I do appreciate that the football and basketball games have programs that have the kids' names/numbers on them so I can keep track of who is who - track was a bit confusing this year

Yawning again - guess I'll see if I can get in a couple more hours of sleep before I head in to work the 3 day Holiday weekend. Take care all; stay safe if you are out and about this weekend...

BBQ sauce is on sale also - little hickory flavor goes good in pork & beans ....

I've taken a good two month break from decluttering. Now I have to get back at it for a different reason than being uncluttered. All of a sudden we are having a problem with the large roaches. DH freaks and acts like its my fault. So I'm clearing out everything around the baseboards, scrubbing the floors and baseboards And then putting diatomaceous earth around all of the base boards. The bugs walk in it and can't get it off their feet and it dehydrates them.I've gotten the floor in one bathroom done and cleaned out the other and will put the DE down tomorrow. Unfortunately it will take me awhile because its simply wears my 70 year old body out.

Another thing I working on is repackaging some of my food storage. In 08-09 I packed hundreds of pounds of different foods in one gallon paint buckets, putting the food in two gallon baggies with ow absorbers. I've moved over 100 cans at least 3 times, now some of the cans are rusting on the outside. I've checked the contents in a couple of them and the food is fine. However, I've found a source for 1 gallon food grade plastic buckets and I may be repackaging. The cans are in an outside storage building and for over three years before that the were in an unclimate controlled storage unit. Its amazing how food will hold up if it is stored with oxygen absorbers.
