Remember the hose on a BBQ grill is for very very low pressure 'after' the regulator. Appliances that are designed to take the 1 pound propane bottles directly are designed to have the propane enter the appliance at full pressure. Don't try to cobble up a hose and run full pressure (maybe 200#) through it. The BBQ hoses are made for about 5#.
Otherwise I am 100% for repurposing items and I do it constantly.

thanx for f___ing insult - nobody is "cobbling up" anything - the OEM grill BBQ hoses are EXACTLY the same hose & fittings used for the FACTORY manufactured extension hoses sold for the puposes >>> this FED regulated - not some BS garage shade tree crap >>> don't be responding to my posts with your insulting bullshit

Sheesh... chill!! If you knew the info, great! There are almost certainly people reading who don't know that, and it may save a life.

If you don't take every post or comment as a personal insult, you'll be a lot healthier...

I meant no disrespect. Like I said I am all for repurposing stuff. And I know that you know many things from reading your posts. But many people do not so I just added some additional knowledge. A little caution never hurts anyone when doing new things.

Here is a common replacement BBQ hose.

Thank you, I was on my own when shopping and was a bit confused about what to get. Hubby is going to go over everything with me again so I can do it when necessary.
