It sounds like it. I'd definitely use some ivermectin..which we do routinely at the (fortunately rare) occasions of "flu like symptoms" showing up. The stuff works...

Praying you'll be feeling better soon!

Thank you. I just called DS who teaches high school in the city to see if they'd had any cases of it and he said they had. One kid just tested positive for covid and one of the flus...poor kid.

This week is starting out so much better than last. Followed up about the guardianship gig - they want full time for about half of what I make now. "I don't think the job meets my current needs." It never hurts to be polite. Helping with the committee for the NE CO 'Junk Jaunt' - miles long garage sale in October. I'm hoping I can off load some of the Ebay stuff that is not moving.

More work tomorrow and working on cleaning a house. Yeah, the house next to it just sold and had about 4 inches of cat poo throughout the house. Oooofff! Better someone else than me!
When my hoarding neighbor's house was first cleared out, due to all the cats and no litter box, they used hazmat suits and respirators. First man from county that originally went in came out and vomited. Definitely better someone else than you!!

Are you doing okay with the second line that came through? That was a bit intense for awhile.

We had a severe warning in the evening...and one real loud rumble ...but not close..then the bottom dropped...I haven't heard rain like that in a long..it finally let up..we were under a tornado watch ....but just real hard rain..I think the worst of it was down closer to Richmond...

Good morning all.
Still very windy and cold. A couple more days and then warm again. Snow squalls but nothing stuck.
Colds in the chest now so making it's way.
Have to take laundry in to town. Washer on the blink. Will pick up meds and stuff.
Daffodils are up and other stuff. Hoping this is last of the winter.

I haven’t heard wind like we had in a long time. I thought it could have been a tornado. The wind “howled” for 5-7 minutes. It was weird. Thankfully we kept power and have no damage.

I have been out sick. I haven't been this sick in at least a couple of decades. I felt fine Friday morning, but by mid afternoon I was running fever and coughing my head off. Hubby wanted me to go to the dr Saturday morning, but my temperature was down some, and I really didn't have the energy to go. Hubby took me yesterday. Dr. Jeff said it wasn't Covid or flu. My ears were both hurting. He looked at the one that I have had fluid behind the ear drum for over 6 months. He gave me a very strong antibiotic and prescription cough syrup, and a prescription for Allerga D. Our drug store won't give it out without a prescription. Hopefully, I will finally get over this.

I bought a cough and congestion syrup on Friday that compares to Mucinex Fast Max. That is undoubtedly the most horrible stuff ever. It worked if you could keep it down. I managed 3 doses, and barely kept the last one down. I told Hubby it taste and smells like a mixture of turpentine and coal oil. Hubby smelled it and said to throw that mess away.

Hopefully everyone will have a good day today. I think I am going to lay down again.

I'm saying a prayer for all of you who are feeling "under the weather". Hopefully, you will all feel better soon.

I was dragging, yesterday, but I got a good night's sleep. More energetic this morning.

We had snow flurries, until around 9 am yesterday morning. No accumulation. After today, we will be starting another warming trend. Upper 80's by the weekend. It's still only going to be in the 40's, today. 32, tonight.

I have a few things I want to accomplish, today. Nothing major.

I'm sorry you are going through that pain and not feeling well. I'll have to try the Mucinex Fast Max. I still had part of a bottle of the Robitussin flu stuff they came out with several years ago but gave it to DIL. When I looked for it to buy a new bottle, I realized it got discontinued back when they took the active ingredient out of all our cold meds a while back. I hate that because it worked so well on respiratory infections, viral or bacterial.

My latest issue besides not being able to smell anything is insomnia...not one wink of sleep all night last night.

Thank you SouthernBreeze...much appreciated.

Last night was low twenties but it was our last bitterly cold night for a while...thank goodness. I've been cold for a couple days and by this weekend, it will be warm again...can't wait.

We are still under a freeze warning for tonight. I checked our extended forecast for the rest of the month, and we have no more freezing weather in it. Mid to upper 70's almost every day. I hope April doesn't throw us any surprises!

Y'all usually get our same weather 24 hrs. later. I think we get down to 40's tonight, close to 60 tomorrow and 72 for Saturday. The next four days are set to break the high temp record for those days. We have 90 and 91 for Saturday and Sunday!

We aren't going to be that warm. Saturday and Sunday highs will be 85 and 88. 63 for our high, tomorrow. It's still only 37 outside right now. Not as breezy as yesterday. At least, we don't have any more storms in our near forecast.

I had a little outing. I picked up more apples (for dehydrating) and looked at lawn mowers at two dealers. This will likely be my last mower, so I want to get something easy to service that will last with proper maintenance. I also looked at several used cars but now that I've been to that dealership, I can see why a lot of folks think that it's really sketchy. I won't be going back.

After having a big meal last night, I'm making breakfast sandwiches using English muffins, tonight. Fried egg, ham, and cheese. I'll cut up some potatoes and fry them for Cary's hash browns. I made a big pan of fudge brownies, yesterday, so that will be dessert. Now that the price of eggs have come down, we're eating more egg oriented meals.

I do enjoy a good pot of soup, too.

It's 19º/feels like 4º with snow in the forecast. I'm skipping Bible study this afternoon in favor of a nap hoping to get rid of my headache. I think it's allergy as I'm stuffed up.

When I get bronchitis, I always head to the doctor as I know if I don't chances are good it will turn into pneumonia. BTDT too many times to risk waiting.

I don't like breakfast sandwiches especially the dry egg McMuffins from McDonalds. I don't like French toast either, but I like breakfast casseroles with egg, sausage or bacon, bread and whatever else goes into one. It's not a flavor thing but a consistency thing. Muffins are too dry and soggy bread of French toast doesn't appeal either. I like English muffins toasted with butter and jelly and had one for breakfast this a.m. One time I was at my grandmothers when I was sick and she kindly fixed me "milk toast" which she thought was the thing for me. I literately hated it ... hot milk and soggy bread ... double yuck. I absolutely cannot eat something like milk toast even to please my grandmother when I'm sick. I'm generally not a picky eater and I will eat McMuffins or French toast if I must but that doesn't mean I like them!!!

Prayers for everyone sick that whatever crud you're dealing with goes away soon.

That's the way it was here yesterday.
28 degrees this morning with highs not predicted to get out of the 40s. Good day for my homemade vegetable soup.
Great minds think alike. I have a huge pot simmering right now. DIL is going to come by and give it a taste test in a little bit to make sure I don't mess it up. I can only taste the salt and it keeps seeming like it doesn't have enough so before I ruin it, I'll get her opinion. I made enough to use those freezer cube knock offs I got. They worked so good for the chili that I'm pretty sure they'll do for this stew.

I told DH that is exactly what I think I have. I had chronic bronchitis as a child and I told DH last night that I think that's what my last two viruses have turned into and I can see right now that I will have to go straight to the doc, first thing in the future to avoid pneumonia. I ended up with it in December and I have it now. Lesson learned.

I thought I had outgrown it but apparently not. I think I had such a good immune system as a teen and young and middle aged adult that I could fight it off and now it's rearing it's ugly head again...figures, I'll be 70 this year.

Several years ago, I was having a really bad flareup with Lupus. At the same time, I caught a bad case of bronchitis and pleurisy. I was one sick lady. Stayed in the ICU for a week. Bronchitis is no joke.

That is a scary bad combination. I guess I'm going to have to be more proactive and get myself to the doctor asap from now on. I'm not doing such a good job of treating myself lately but I hate doing the walk in thing and my doc is so popular that there is no seeing her as a walk in.

There is a dedicated nurse practitioner that sees all the contagious folks. Next time, that is the route I'm taking. I usually go years between bad viruses, not months. I may get a common cold in between but I guess at this age, even those can get dangerous. I think I've pulled through this time...we'll see what tomorrow brings. I still can't smell a thing even though my nose is not stopped up but I'm hoping my taster gets better. DDIL says there's plenty of salt in that stew so I'm not touching it even though it seems to need some IMHO. Since I usually err on the side of less salty, we are going with it as is. There is almost three gallons in that big pot that I could ruin.

Nasty nasty nasty today. Lake effect snow all day and squalls. Everything's done now so I think I'm going to go back to bed.
My neighbor is a big wig at CEO she works all the storms and she is I believe upstate because of the big blizzard up there right now. I thought of Hfcomms when she told me she was up there

Good afternoon everyone! Its a cold day here. 34 degrees this morning after our warm spell last week where I actually had shorts on outside. I'm over winter ok?

I got a quilt quilted today. Yay me! It needs the label put on and binding but I'm done with it for the day. I got almost to the end of it and realized my backing had slipped and I had a big wrinkle so out came the seam ripper. Time to move on to something else. Back to hand quilting this auction quilt for the guild I guess. I'm ready to be done with it also.

As caught up as I've been in all the goings on of the world I haven't quilted much lately. It never fails to amaze though how much it relaxes me. Just put something mindless on the tv or some good country music on and I can easily spend the day totally focused on quilting and ignore everything else.
Supper tonight was leftovers. I’ve gotten off track in my diet again, I wanted pizza but decided I didn’t need to spend that money on it and had no mozzarella here. If I buy cheese no one eats it and it molds. Hard cheese is cut it off but not mozzarella! If I don’t have it in hand we always want it.

I must say after working in the guild quilt all afternoon I am beyond ready to be done with it! Sadly I have at least two more good weeks of quilting to go on it. One thing I’ve learned, I will never volunteer to help hand quilt another one. I’m the only one that ended up doing it and it’s a queen size!

I agree. I got over volunteering for anything years ago. I always ended up regretting it. There may have been a few rare exceptions but not many. I'm just too busy.

YES! And I greatly dislike how many churches and other organizations seem to think that retired women have endless time to donate to their cause. I may have more time, but my energy is limited.

I don't mind working the occasional shift at the food pantry or mowing the soccer field at the church (on their riding mower!) when other people are tied up, but in no way do I want regular volunteer hours doing that each week. Ugh!

I could easily do 40+ hours each week if I didn't say no.

Cary fell in love with McDonald's egg McMuffins years ago. I've been making the homemade version ever since. Sometimes, I use sausage patties, instead of ham.
I get the Steak and Egg McMuffins from McDonalds. They also have cheese. The "steak" is just an oblong ground beef patty that is fairly moist. I get it without the slivered onions and with extra butter, so never dry.

I sometimes do a similar sandwich at home, but with turkey bacon or turkey sausage instead. I have some egg rings that I use on my electric griddle, or if I am feeling lazy I just do a scrambled egg or two in the microwave.

Sky was spitting snow a few hours ago. Overcast with a high of 39 degrees today. Forecast for tomorrow is mostly sunny and 72. Working up to a high of 90 on Saturday. Then another strong cold front. Talk about weather whiplash.

Yes, we just had a clipper go through about 5 pm that left some snow, just a dusting! So no shoveling. I can deal with that. 50s are on tap for tomorrow. I might go for a short bike ride later in the day if the trails are in reasonable shape. Otherwise, I'll wait until Thursday.

Added:
I've got to stop drinking tea at lunch. I'm still awake. I bought a box of PG Tips (English tea). That stuff is like rocket fuel. I used to have a rule about no caffeine after 9 am, unless I'm going to be driving somewhere that evening. I need to return to that.

I've been drinking "breakfast tea." That's what it's called. It's pretty weak, compared to the PG Tips.

My sister quilts. She has made me a beautiful quilt out of me and Scots wedding clothes and is done with the second one that I haven't seen yet, it's all of his keepsake shirts. She makes quilts for everybody all the time I don't know where she gets the energy. She says the same thing though that it relaxes her and they are some beautiful quilts.

It does really relax me and i just get into my own little world. The quilt I messed up on yesterday is a beautiful quilt if I do say so. I saw the pattern in a magazine. Its going to my bonus son, a friend of ds' that ends up camped out here half the time. He's a good kid and for the most part has his head on straight, at any rate he can hold a conversation with you. He asked me if I would make hime a quilt, that he would buy fabric and pay me. I laughed and showed him my fabric then told him I do NOT do quilts for pay. Yes I could make money if I did but it would take the joy out of it. So I would make him one for free. He's been watching it go together as I've made it. the other week he brought his girlfriend for me to meet and give my opinion and he just had to show her that quilt lol. He went to Boston for St Patrick's day with his dad I think so my goal is to have this quilt ready to give him next time he shows up here.

The only reason I volunteered with the guild quilt as i thought it would help me make some friends in it. Well that flopped but I have made a couple friends.
Oh and good morning everyone! Hope everyone that has been sick feels better. I may try and go get a load of cardboard for the garden today. Found a place that will load your truck up with a pallet load of thick cardboard for free.

Mom has always quilted. I have several of her quilts that she has passed on to me, already. When my dad passed, Mom gave all of Dad's dress shirts to DS thinking he could wear them. Instead, DS gave all the shirts to his ex-Mil. She cut them all up into quilt squares and made Mom a large quilt from them as a keepsake. There were so many shirts that she also made 2 small lap quilts for me and my sister and 4 small pillows for the 4 grandchildren. Family treasures.
