Let's see. Well, another solar panel coming that I have to make room for on the array and also ordered a few hundred more feet of cable and MC-4 connectors for the panels. And depending on what happens with the markets in the next few days and level of 'panic' that is building will determine whether or not I replace my battery bank for the system. If this is the start of something a lot bigger and more dire a lot of things just simply are not going to be available in the future.

In my area Aldi's has over stock chicken on sale and it's 10 pounds bagged leg quarters. You can skin and cut the bone out and put it canning jars and fill up to the line on the jar with water and Pressure cook at 10 pounds for 90 minuets or 1 1/2 hour is the same. You can add a bouillon cube to each jar if you like and chicken or beef does not matter it will work. Right now it's two bags per customer and you can go back a little later the same day and buy one or two more bags.

I've pretty much covered my prep buying in several other threads. I think the only thing left to be delivered yet would be some quart size zip loc mylars. I do have to gather up some totes to put the mylars in and save my empty buckets for other things. And as I do just about every day I'll be organizing and cleaning up my prep areas. And I still have all those cans in the crappy shed that need to be pulled out and either repackaged or at least cleaned up and put in the good she shed. A 12x20 shed can hold a lot of stuff especially since DH put in a lot of shelves and hanging rods. Even though I have my wonderful new 10x12 closet I still have clothes hung in the she shed. One thing I'll probably never run out of would be clothes in several sizes.

Got some potato and sweet potatoes set up to start today, started a pantry inventory, and made a list of what I need still. Also planted some early spring seeds in the raised beds. I need to get to lowes and get some dirt to add to one bed and then I can plant it. Tuesday will start more seeds in the greenhouse. I am really praying though that this virus fizzles out. DS has 2 pins in his arm from surgery this past Friday so we have weeks ahead of us of having to be in a doctors office weekly.

More horse manure to mix into the garden, burning some brush, got a new, larger inverter coming for the solar system (out-grew the old setup), bunch of weedwhacking...need to grab some propane in the morning.
Tomato plants are looking good, lettuce is poking through the ground...

God forbid I should start another thread on prepping on the main, so here it is here, so to speak. I am such a prepahololic, I'm starting to get anxious that I'm down four cans of the kind of chili DH likes and I've not replaced them and not planning on replacing them any time soon. On the other hand I have a bout 48 cans of it left. He likes this chili better that what I make. I'm hopeless.

We worked outside all weekend. Cleaned up the fruit tree prunings and got part of the trees fertilized. The rest will be fertilized this week.

Planted potatoes, spinach, lettuce, and sugar snap peas in the garden. We mulched the second asparagus patch. And I planted my strawberries in an old tub.

We have our bee meeting tonight. It should be very informative so we are going. We need our bees. They are an important part of our homestead.

We also got more of the fields cleaned up. It is looking nice and will add a few bales of hay to our count.

I hope to get chicks this week. I have not replaced hens in a couple years. I plan to get enough feed to get them good sized without having to worry if it is available.

I'll stand with you, Judy, and say that I'm a prepaholic, too. I say that I'm done prepping for awhile, but every time I go into town, I have to add more. There's always something that catches my eye that I think I might need more of. We aren't gardeners anymore, and have no farm animals that we can draw from, so we have to buy everything. We only shop every two weeks. We made a huge haul last Friday, but I have a doctor's appt. tomorrow, and I have the strong urge to swing buy Sam's again, just to see what I might find. They have a huge sale going on, until March 22. I'm almost afraid to wait another two weeks for our next scheduled shopping run, when supplies may be wiped out by then.

Today was beautiful, so I got some outside stuff done like pruning herbs. I've almost got all my books moved to the herb business house, and I got the herbs inventoried. This evening, I'm starting two tinctures and I started elderberry syrup this am. Tomorrow, I'm going to a class at my old (ha) herb school and hitting a grocery store or two on the way. I'm debating about visiting my mom over the weekend, but it's an 8 hour drive. I guess we'll see how things shake out the rest of this week.

The bee meeting was very informative. Swarm season has started. It's a couple of weeks early this year, but it has been mostly mild. I need to get my traps out today or tomorrow.

Hubby went to Ace hardware and bought lamp oil while I went to the resale shop. He bought more than I expected. I messaged him to get 2 bottles. He messaged that he had 2 large and 2 small bottles. Yay! My hunt in the resale shop was ok. Bought clothes in the next couple of sizes for the boys. I had no luck finding shoes in bigger sizes. They had a lot of flip flops and water shoes. I did buy a pair of Crocs in bigger size.

We went to Neighborhood Market and stocked some more stuff. I did not notice any holes on the shelves. Just a few in the cold medication, but there was still plenty available.

The other day I unearthed a small cloth tote where I had stored a big supply of jar lids. I did think there were wide mouths in the tote but they are all regular. No problem, I use mostly regular mouth jars anyway. These lids have been stored for over ten years, and not in the best of conditions, however, I've used a few and they work fine. I also found my tote of oil lamp parts, quite a few burners, and even extra globes. Now if on Dh hadn't used most of my stash of lamp oil to start burn piles. Its so much more expensive than it was over ten years ago. About 12 years ago I collected oil lamps of the same style in different colors, vintage oil lamps have gone way up in price since then too. Thank goodness that between DH and I we have a large stash of oil lamps. He used keroscene in his. I don't think I've ever used mine, during hurricane season it was just too hot.

We have added more to our larder. We keep thinking of items and adding to the list. I still think I need more flour.

We worked mulching more of the garden. I will have some weed, but not a lot.

We got out our 3 swarm traps. Now I just hope the bees find one.

The weather's been heavenly here for the last few days as well (70's in Idaho!), so I planted some things in my raised beds too. So far I have onion bulbs in, cabbage, cauliflower, and leek (seeds). I still need to do carrots -- and I hope I'm not too early. It's all new to me here, but I'm going to plant & see what happens!

My youngest son told me that if they have to abandon ship (outside New Orleans) they are coming here. So I just stocked up a lot more, they would add 5 more mouths to feed, wife, two daughers and a hollow leged 3 1/2 year old boy. Lots of pancake mix (probably need to keep most of that in the freezer), syrup, more catsup, salad dressing (can put ranch dressing on many things), I was low on dry blackeyed peas so I bought ten pounds, more rice, some hard candy and more things I just can't remember right now.

We hit Lowes, Tractor Supply, Dollar Tree and Walmart. DH got a sandpoint and pipe to work on his driving a well. We got tomato plants and top soil. Don't tell Dennis, but I was freaking out that I had used three cans of chili that I get at Dollar Tree, so I replaced those three and added three more.

The stores were stocked well in all stores except dried beans were skimpy and they had rice, but there were some holes. And I did not see another person really stocking up. I kept telling the cashiers that I was expecting company for a couple of weeks.

The fruit trees all have been fertilized with potash. So that job is done. Some are already in bloom. I am afraid the fruit will get frozen as we could still get frost till April 15th.

I still want to buy chicks, but the local stores have not got what varieties I want yet. I have decided to try the incubator again. It does not work as well as the first one I bought, but I do get some hatch from it. We have plenty of eggs now. I need a couple more sacks of starter too.

I ordered 2 pounds of bulk yeast and more garden seeds. I needed the yeast, but I probably have enough seeds. I wanted to try a couple new heirloom varieties.

I get a kick out of your husband and his chili - I'm not too far behind >> I settled on the Kroger brand - Hot Chili with beans for a $1 - no idea who makes it for Kroger but it only needs some onions and a little veggie oil splash ...

He just loves the stuff from Dollar Tree, and its has beans which he likes, he does not eat anything spicey. Sometimes, when I remember, I add some nutritional yeast flakes.

I really doubt my son's wife is in high gear. She's going to resist anything that upsets her apple cart. But when my son puts his foot down that's it, they do what he says. They've had to start keeping more food in the house because my 3 1/2 year old grandson is always "very very hungry", definitely has a hollow leg. He even got into the treats for one of their pets. His 11 year old sister had a fit.

Still quite cold at our mountain home though the wife's tulips are coming up on the south side of the house. The only green so far. I have been doing a lot of online ordering at Walmart and having it shipped here for free. I don't like to drive the 70 miles to that store. Bought an extra 50# salt block for the elk because I see they have the last one half gone now. I like to keep that meat-on-hoof around. We are more ready than we ever have been.

thanks, but I doubt they'd come with much except with their hands out. And these people make lots and lots of money. But how could I turn my precious grandchildren away. And I wouldn't turn my son away either and I'd have to take his wife in too. Dear son did say they would be ready and willing to work, and that would be a tremendous help. They do not keep much food in their house. DIL was buying meals from a lady that made them for working mothers, but I don't think she does that anymore. I think she might actually cook some meals. They are really going to be shocked to find that we don't have unlimited wifi, all five of them have some kind of screen in front of them all the time.

Today I actually got all the stuff out of one of my leaky sheds. I hired someone to help, I'd been working on it a little at a time but I was only about 1/4 of the way through it on my own. All the stuff is out in the yard to be gone through, a lot of the stuff will go straight to the burn barrel, but then on the other hand a good amount is still in good condition, just have to figure out where to put it.

There are people around this community that I could hire to help me, but I would not trust any of them except this one fellow that has worked for us off and on for about 5 years.

I'm slowly going through all the stuff from that shed that's out in the yard. I found two large cans of Lysol spray, I know they must be a good 12 years old. Sprayers work fine and it smells like lysol. No telling what I'm going to find.

I found some of my old fat clothes, hung them on the clothes line to air out and then I'll wash them. I can't seem to get any weight off lately and may need some of them. I use to make all my clothes and I found a big stack of shorts that I made years ago, seemed like finding an old friend.

You're doing great, Judy! Turning nervous energy into productive processes is an excellent use of your time! I wish I could get to some of the projects on my "to do" list... I'd like to strip, sort and organize (doing an inventory as I go) both the huge herb cabinet in my herb room, and the equally large bathroom cabinet stuffed with OTC meds, toiletries, gloves, sanitizer, etc.

My spine has been so bad, though, I can only stay on my feet for a few hours a day, and the current local flu epidemic is keeping me hopping.

Keep it up! I'll bet you go to bed tired out, but feeling very satisfied!

I feel your pain, I can only work for a little while at a time, supposed to rain tomorrow so I'll have to dig out the tarps. Working on the shed stuff is getting me behind in my house stuff. I bought extra food and stuff in case my son +4 come here. But I'm doubting they will, son probably told his wife they would come here if need be. She just post on FB that they now have stock in a toilet paper company, so maybe she is stocking up on food too.

Sitting pretty good at this point thank God! I have a new battery bank for my solar panel setup enroute via truck freight and it should get here unless everything falls apart in the next four days and I ordered two more bags of dog food from Amazon to add to the seven I keep on hand so I've done about everything I can. You can only do what you can do and leave the rest in God's hands.

Made our last trip in to our local small town. Bought way more than usual and now we are done. We are going to sit tight for at least a month. Or way longer if required.

Trips to the grocery store last night and this afternoon and some random stops after work have me at "all topped off". Managed to find some wipes and some Lysol spray to add to the stash. Bought a few "nice to haves", got the grandson his birthday present, and called it a day. I am not planning on doing any shopping or socializing for a while. Just waiting on my Amazon order to get here, as it has my yeast in it. Time to sit back and watch.
