Moving slow this morning, so I didn't have time to get the thread started before I headed in to work - sorry!

Tell us what y'all are doing on the prep front this week!

Folger's coffee sale this week - the 20.6 to 30.5 oz tubs for $5.99; plus there is a $3 off 6 breakfast items coupon in the ad as well. Maxwell House coffee 20.5 to 34.5 oz tubs are on sale at a different store for $4.99 each. I will probably try to pick up at least 12 tubs; maybe 18 while the sale is on - the amount I purchase will depend on the use by date.

Stew beef is on sale again, as is top and bottom round roasts and steaks, so I may purchase enough of those to can up another case. We can make two different meals from one jar of beef; and most of the time each meal has 4 servings - and that's without scrimping on the servings or the amount of beef. Some things we make with the canned beef chunks: beef stroganoff, beef and noodles, beef stew, beef veggie soup, beef Manhattans, Italian beef.... is anyone else hearing Bubba from Forrest Gump in their head as they are reading that? Oh wait - I forgot French Dip sandwiches and hash!

I'm waiting for the mid-week ads to come out tomorrow to see if there are any good buys in them - we lost one of our chain grocery stores, the one in daughter's town; it closed down with very little notice, so that is one store less where I can check for sales.

Neighbor is here to take me to the pool; gotta go - take care all; stay safe and stay sane - there are enough crazies out there already!!

Hit CVS with a handful of coupons--got 3 bottles of laundry detergent ($1 off coupons) for 99 cents each, and 2 bottles of Colgate mouthwash ($1 off coupons) and with a $4 ECB paid $6 and got $2 in ECB back. That's the way I like to shop :) That was also about it as far as deals go this week. Did get 4 jars of dry roasted peanuts at Publix as a BOGO and I had coupons.

Had 10 year old rice from the LTS for dinner the other night. I was afraid it would be rancid, but it was fine. We used to eat a lot of rice, but dh suddenly decided he wasn't going to eat it anymore. Glad I didn't give that bucket to the chickens now.

Thanks for the heads-up on the laundry detergent at CVS, Prudentwatcher; with your help, I was able to pick up 5 bags of the Arm and Hammer powerpacks in time to donate them to the swim team where I go to the pool - they are collecting household/cleaning items for Veterans who are getting out of the hospital. I also managed to get two, $2 off 1 pkg of CVS baby wipes scanner coupons, so picked up 2 packages of those for an out of pocket of 79 cents plus tax each to add to the bag.

While I was at CVS I checked and they finally have the old folks, err.... 'adult' vitamins that Hubby and I take back in stock - and they were on sale buy one get one half off plus I had a $2 off $12 vitamin purchase scanner coupon and a $5 Extra Care Buck so my regular price $17 worth of vitamins cost me $5.75 plus tax out of pocket.

Boost is on sale again this week, the high protein version is $7.99, regular $6.99; buy 4, get $8 Extra Care Bucks back. I'm going to look around for some coupons, but will probably do the deal even if I don't find some - I have a $10 Extra Care Buck on hand to get me started.

I hit the Folger's coffee deal at the grocery store for 6 tubs of coffee (4 half caff for daughter, 2 regular for me) @ $5.99 each - $3 coupon if you buy 6 items, so $5.49 tub plus tax; regular price on the shelf was $10.99, so about half price. I would pick up more on Saturday when I go back up to the pool, but the use by dates are Oct/Nov/Dec of this year - ground coffee is one thing that doesn't hold well at room temperature much past it's expiration date in my experience; and I don't have room in the freezer to store it.

Glad your Hubby is willing to eat the stored rice again, Marseydoats :)

The grandsons and I met Hubby at a gun show after he got off work - quite a bit of stuff to see, but the only thing I came home with were two wrist rockets (slingshots) for the boys. I spent a little more money on raffles, and gave the boys $5 each to put in the donation tub for the nearby Veteran's Home. So proud to see older grandson thank the gentleman manning the booth for his service and shake his hand :wvflg:

I have been busy. I took out my chainsaw and ringed about 30 trees, and marked them on my gps. They will be dry in two years. Each trip to town I carry 3 logs in my sled, that I ringed 2 or 3 years back. I come back to my house two to three times per week, that is six to 9 logs per week. My log pile in town is growing. I keep finding moose sheds running the trap line. I am marking sheds on gps too, just for reference points in future. Trapping seems slow, but it has been a tough year. The freezer filling up. I skin and flesh the hide, roll it and place in zip lock, then freeze. I will tan them later. Although, I will sell dry hides to the fur buyer. Other than that we keep selling seasoned wood.
