Good Morning, All!

Woke up to a little boy wanting breakfast this morning - at 5 am! Both are fed and have now set up camp on opposite ends of the couch to play on their tablets; volume level on both boys and tablets has gone up since Papaw came downstairs  Me, I'm waiting for the aspirin I took a while ago to kick in to see if I'm willing to move very far away from my comfy recliner - apparently taking two little boys to the pool is more of a workout than I usually do there  At least the little one is tall enough now that his head is above water in the shallow end....if he's on his tiptoes, that is!

Was looking out the kitchen window as I prepped their breakfast and saw the first Red-Wing Blackbird of the season - that was my Granny's sign that spring was here. Me, I'm a little more skeptical than Granny was having been through multiple March blizzards; but I am still happy to see them back. We have been seeing multiple huge flocks of geese heading north lately - not two or three V's following each other at a distance, but thousands at a time, so maybe my blackbird isn't too far off as to the arrival of spring.

Co-worker Buddy will be coming out to bring me my Sunday papers later this morning; I will peruse the ads then to see if there is anything on sale that is also on our needs list. I will be taking the boys home later this afternoon; will be making a run to the grocery store for more soup for Hubby's work lunches while I am in town, but that will probably be the extent of my shopping - well, unless I run into some really low clearance priced items in the kids department - managed to pick up 4 sets of marked down long underwear, and 2 packages of regular underwear in the next 2 sizes up for each boy during the past week.

The cousins that hunt our ground were down last weekend while I was at work; they told Hubby that there are no shots of the wild turkeys that we used to have several flocks of showing up on the game cameras, but they have mutiple shots of a bobcat or bobcats. I've not seen any tracks close to the house - yet. Don't think we are running short on deer though, if the tracks under my birdfeeders are any indication

Well darn, reckon those breakfast dishes aren't going to do themselves; better get up and get started on those, then on the really amazing amount of laundry two little boys can create in one day

Take care, All; wishing you all a safe week...

Driving backhome from helping mom move to her new house. Right now, we're making a 'quick' stop at a gun show.

I hit a thrift store that was running clearing out their men and boy clothes to put out spring and summer boy wear. I got some stuff for the little grand boys. At .50 an item they can grow into some of it.

I got into my bed hive. Numbers are increasing and I see brood. I found what I an pretty sure was a swarm cell. I removed that and closed them up.

We bought 7 new fruit trees. 3 apple, 2 peach, a pear, and a cherry. We got them planted and fencing around each. Worked on the garden some too.

I ordered a turtle trap for the ponds. I want to stock them with fish, but the turtles would eat the small fish. So they have to go. We also removed some barbed wire that was strung across the biggest pond.

I sold some more hay. We have now sold enough to make up buying the hay equipment.

I felt we accomplished a lot this weekend and week. All this work would have killed me just a few years ago. I would have been done in for days. But I am not even that tired, but I am a bit sore. Working to restore my gut health has made all the difference. I kicked my autoimmune disease instead of it kicking by butt..

Caught a good deal on pork roast this week, so bought enough to run one canner load of large chunks of pork in broth - this will mostly be used for pork bbq sandwiches. Also did more cleaning and sorting - don't know how stuff builds up, but it sure does! I'm still waiting for kids coats, hats and gloves to drop to a better clearance price before buying - I'm good a couple years out anyway, so don't NEED to buy right now unless it is a good deal. I also stocked up on batteries - CVS has their brand on sale buy one/get one free, and I had some extra care bucks/pharmacy bucks that needed used before they expired.

I've been shopping sales on new Spring and Summer clothes for myself. Oldest son is getting married in May, I wanted something new to wear. I bought two $50 tops for $10 a piece. Bought three dresses and one top for $4.99 each. All of those were over $50+ a piece. I think I did good. DH was certainly pleased, LOL! Belk's is my favorite clothing store, and they have huge sales like this all throughout the year.

Made a big run at Sam's, yesterday, too. Loaded up on some cases of food items that were getting low in the pantry. Going to rearrange some shelf space to make way for the new items today. Cases of baked beans, Rotel tomatoes, canned chicken breasts, coffee, gallon jars of pickle relish, 2 jar packages of mayo, etc. I'm waiting on a new sales flyer from there, before buying anything else, which should be a couple of weeks from now.
