Mornin' All! Hope everyone is doing well and having good weather - it's warming up here, should be in the mid 40's this afternoon (after being below zero last week  Oh well, like they always say around here: "If you don't like the weather, stick around for a few minutes; it'll change!"

Stopped at Dollar General on my way in to work last night and did the following deal:
3 - Northern TP 6 Mega Roll packs @ $7.95 each = $23.85 (regular price is $9 pkg)
2 - Dawn dish detergent from the Dollar aisle = $2
Total: $25.85 + tax
Used: $5 off $25 Dollar General coupon and 50 cent off 1 pkg of Northern manufacturer's coupon
Total out of pocket: $20.35 plus tax - left the receipt in the van and can't recall the exact price.

I haven't had a chance to look through the ads or the coupon inserts as yet, so don't know what other bargains may be lurking this week; I'll try to take a look tonight if I get a break at work.

And speaking of work; reckon I'd better head to bed so that I can get some sleep before I have to go back in. You folks all take care out there; stay safe, stay healthy!

There are four areas around here that need cleaning out. My school bus, two sheds and my camper. Yesterday I culled some things out of the two sheds and the bus. Not a lot bus some things. One shed I pulled out some cases of canning jars, the boxes of most are in terrible shape, they are now on the camper porch which is closed in on three sides, so they will be alright there for the interium. Pulled out some totes and took some things to the burn barrel in the other shed. The totes also went on the camper porch. Found a couple of things in the bus that I had forgotten about, but was glad to see. I found two packages of three in each of kitchen size matches. Since they were still in the plastic the matches are fine.

A couple of days ago I found two boxes of 20ea N95 masks. They were in plastic but one packages had had some air get in and the gray strip where the nose goes had decentagrated (sp) and I was able to brush all that stuff off, so I now have 40 more masks. I knew I had some out there but had not checked. There is a lot of stuff in the bus that needs to go straight to the burn barrel.

My goal is to clear out a little out of those four spaces every day or so. Really need to get after it before the weather gets too warm.

I don't need anything from the store, I'm well stocked on anything I can think of. I'm blessed.

I've not gotten much of anything done in either of the four spaces in the last couple of years.

We're going to be bringing in a big haul from our shopping trip tomorrow. I've spent the last week cleaning out nooks and crannies trying to find more places to tuck stuff away. I did some reorganizing in the pantry room as I went along. Got some kitchen cabinets cleaned out, too. I even found things I had forgot about having! Not food, though.

I'm really looking forward to our trip into town tomorrow! Seems like it's been months, since I was last in town! Gonna make the most of it. Never know when it may be our last for awhile.

I do have to go to town to return something via UPS that I got at amazon. While in town I'll check at walmart to see if they have any of the 24 count packages of their water, they've been out of that size lately. And I'll get another 4-6 cans of great value mixed vegetables, just to add to my storage.

I've got gallon size mylar bags coming from amazon today, I thought I ordered the ziplock kind but alas, they are not. One thing I need to get stored in them in flour and corn meal, I'll have to put the product in a gallon ziploc bag and then in the mylar, having to seal the mylar with an iron is a pain in the behind.

I do need to check my sugar supply, although I have a lot, I might get a 25 pound bag. We actually don't use much.

We are stocking up some more. I bought some underwear in a couple of sizes for the grandsons. Socks too. They are far enough apart that the little one gets clothes from his cousin. I looked for shoes at the resale shop, but, none today.

We got the dormit oil spray on the fruit trees and most of the pruning done over the weekend. We need to get all our spray for the year. And I have to get more done in the garden. I bought seed potatoes today, but no more than usual.

Hubby has been getting shop supplies for the equipment and autos. We also talked about taking some money from savings to use stocking up.

Not doing too much this week. I did order some more Concentrace liquid minerals and a few more bottles of Lysine from Amazon so I'm good to go with all my supplements for an extended period of time.

That is a few items often overlooked by many. Most if not all the underwear, socks, t-shirts, ect are made overseas and we import them for sale. Not all of that stuff is made in China of course but these are items that people take for granted and just assume they can pick up at the local store or online anytime they want.

I wish I had a list of what could be hard to find. Shoes is on my list. Hubby needs new boots. We will be getting them in the next day or two. We go to a different town for that. Maybe hubby will indulge me and stop at a resale shop there.

I do have plenty of linens and kitchen stuff.

Working on getting the garden in...tomato, lettuce, cantalope, basil are in the ground with onion sets and potatoes in the next couple of days.

Added on to the solar system so more can be run...not to mention cutting down on that bill.

Added to freeze-dried foods...jic, you know ;)

We got hubby's new boots. He should be good for about 2 years. We also got fruit tree spray, garden dust, and fuel filters for equipment. My list is getting longer all the time.

I bought twenty-four 8 oz bottles of coconut oil from the dollar store (for a dollar each) and another twenty-four 32-oz bottles of light corn syrup from Grocery Outlet for 16 cents each. I don't normally use that much corn syrup, but I couldn't pass that price up. If nothing else, I have it for bartering or donating.

Also pruned the fruit trees and bought three pairs of athletic shoes, since those may become in short supply soon.

One thing that we eat a lot of is pasta. When in town, I bought up a lot more bags of it to add to my pantry. I had run out of places to store food in my pantry, so I had to come up with a place for the pasta. I brought in several canning jars that weren't in use, washed and dried them, and are now filled with all types of pasta. They fit nicely under our bed! I got enough room left to fill several more jars and tuck them under there, too.

Since the cases of canned veggies at Sam's have gone over to the pop top lids, I've stopped buying them there. Now, I'm buying by the flats at Walmart. They stack very well along our bedroom wall. Not going to be stacking them too high, though. Will make several stacks, instead.

With dh in hospital again, I'm slowing down on inventory...……..still on lookout for extreme deals, just like your corn syrup, school marm. That's a great bargain and useful for many things. I don't use it, but barter? oh yes

I looked for canned pineapple. It is either a product of Thailand or the Philippines, depending on which brand you look at. I emailed Liberty Gold products because someone mentioned them, but they replied that their pineapple was a foreign product too.

We went to the local rice mill and picked up some rice I ordered online. If you want top quality rice grown in the USA, try Ralston Family Farms. They grow and mill their rice themselves. Some is marketed through Walmart and a few other stores like Harps. They sell a lot to restaurants and schools. But some of the best is online. We bought Natures Blend, red rice, purple rice, and nature's blend rice grits. They can trace their product back to which field it was grown in. I have been friends with the Ralstons long before they put in the mill. I make no money off this pitch. They are just good hard working farmers, with a great product. The rice is better for hubby's blood sugar issues than potatoes. He will ask for the Natures Blend instead of potatoes sometimes. That is a huge change for him.

Stocked up some more. Found space to put it too. Hubby has been thinking about a Sam's run, but we may just order online. My vitamin order came yesterday. I may need to order again. I am trying cinnamon and blueberries for blood pressure. Not sure if it will work or not, but it is worth a try. I order from Swanson vitamins. My Plexus order also came. I only have a couple months of it. It is expensive, but have improved my health tremendously. I have gone from 5 prescriptions down to one over the 5 years I have been taking Plexus.

I've been looking at all the things that people are buying and I'm covered on those things. But I feel the need to prep more, but i don't know what to buy. I've added more 5 gallon buckets of beans and i have rice, rice I could feed to someone else if they came here.

I'm covered on everything, too. What I'm buying now is just to extend what I already have. I guess you could call me a "prepper for life". I don't think I'll ever stop.

me too for life and I'll never stop either. I prepped a bit for y2k and gave it up (although I've always had a full pantry) but started it up before Katrina (and I took most of my food with me when we evacuated, we did lose what I couldn't take which mad me very sad) and thereafter I was very serious.

The other day I cooked half of a large port loin, and seasoned it with onion soup mix, totally delicious, reminded me I need more onion soup mix.

I come from a farming, prepping family who always had enough to last a year, until the new crops, cattle, hogs, and fruits came in. It was a lifestyle. Once Cary and I got married, I didn't carry on the tradition. We just didn't have the money as newlyweds, until years later when there were fears of y2k being bad, and the grid going down, we got serious about prepping. Had tons of food stored, but when nothing happened, we gave a lot of our food storage to church food pantries. We slacked off a bit, but once the realization hit us that Cary was nearing retirement, we began in earnest again. Been seriously prepping ever since. At the same realization of his retirement, we began reconstructing our home and property to live off grid. Cary had to take early retirement, because of his health. He's been retired now for 3 yrs. Today, we are able to live totally off grid if we have to, and have enough food in storage to last at least a year, and on some things, two years. We enjoy the prepping lifestyle! I won't ever stop, unless there is a situation that comes up that keeps me from doing so.

I use a lot of onion soup mix, too. I buy boneless rib-eye pork chops, lightly brown on both sides, drain, and put them in my crock pot, and mix a packet of onion soup mix with a can of cream of mushroom soup, and a half soup can of water. Pour over chops in my crock pot. Let simmer on low all day. They are so tender, and the gravy is wonderful!

Amazon had some good deals on Dole pineapple with subscribe and save.

Our half of a cow will be here tomorrow, and while I do plan to buy a few more things, I'm pretty much done for now.

Aldis has very good prices on onion soup mix... Lipton's prices have gotten ridiculous.

Summerthyme
I'd love to shop at Aldis, but there is not one in the entire state of Louisiana, I think there is one about 100 miles away in Texas.

Thrive life has freeze dried strawberries. We don't grow our own, the ones in the grocery are tasteless and the freeze dried are too expensive for regular use, plus we never eat cereal.

We're hunkered down in week long blizzard. Once storm ends I am going close down my trap line and set to work processing it all. Decide what to sell and where. Close down my camp and pull gear home. Choose trees to fell for logs. I can cut firewood while the conditions allow it.

Had to go to town yesterday for a couple of errands and a walmart run. I got two bottles or rubbing alcohol, one 91% and one 70%, more Bear Creek soup and Knorr pasta sides. a large bottle of cheap Vodka and 2 six paks of tomato juice, even the store brand seemed high and the cans are tiny. Since we always grow too many tomatoes I'm going to try my hand at making tomato juice. I like a little tomato juice with vodka in it from time to time. And I did get four more cans of GV mixed vegetables. Every time I go to walmart I get 4-6 cans of those mixed vegetables and a couple of pounds of Walmart brand butter at 2.98 a pound. Its not the kind of butter I like which is Kerrygold, but its fine if I need butter for cooking or I'm desparate, its goes in the freezer. I'm giving consideration to making Ghee. So much to do and so little energy to get it done.

I had ordered some more Curcumin, ginger and cal/mag from amazon which came yesterday.

I returned to amazon two of those oil filled radiator heaters, they were very small and were pretty much worthless and returned the break bleeder since it stopped working and even DH could not get it to work and his hands are a lot stronger than mine. I may get another one.

I tempted DH into taking me to another town by taking him out to an early dinner. Fried chicken livers, hot water cornbread, fries for him and fried okra for me.

We went to walmart and this store had the 24 pk of walmart water, I got four to add to the four cases I have of 40 ct. I got a case of 1/2 gallon mason jars, I have stepped up my vacuum sealing of foods, I have plenty of other size jars. I have a bout 200 boxes of regular mouth lids so I didn't need those, but I did pick up two boxes of wide mouth lids. I forgot the boxes of dry onion soup mix yesterday, but I did find a recipe to make it from scratch and I have all the ingredients except minced garlic, I ordered a 1 1/2 pound bag from Amazon, really good price. All of a sudden I realized I don't have a bulk supply of garbanzo beans, so I ordered 10 pounds from amazon and ebay. I like garbanzos and I think they are not so high in carbs.

Dollar Tree was right across the street so I couldn't resist going there. I got several packages of doggie pads, maxie pads and bladder panty liners. DH has been asking for waffles lately so I got 4 more bottles of syrup. He used 1/2 bottle on three meals of waffles. They also had the sinus and allergy with tylenol tablets that we both like and I got 14 boxes, because often times they are out.

I've decided to cut off my prepping by the end of the month, I'm stocked and my pocket book needs a rest. I do need more dog food, but I've got a few days before the cut off.
