Prayers for continued improvement ff.

I started pruning fruit trees yesterday. I have to get my electric chainsaw out for some of it. A couple of the oldest trees won't have a lot left. But we still have enough. Our son bought 9 more fruit trees and some muscidines. They are all hilled in the mulch pile with our cherry trees till we are ready to plant them. We are blessed with some Spring like weather to get some work done.

Our son and his family spent the night at their camper on the farm last night. Our grandson spent a couple of hours with Hubby looking for fire ant hills and treating them. Son and his wife worked on fences. It so nice having them on the farm. I look forward to them moving permanently.

I tried something different for supper last night. I wanted soup and a sandwich. Hubby wanted the soup, but salmon patties to go with it. So I made salmon patties the size of a hamburger pattie and we had them on hamburger buns. It was pretty good. We have enough for 2 more sandwiches.

Have a blessed week everyone.

Prayers, ff!

I grew up eating salmon patty sandwiches with mayo, occasionally. I didn't care for them much then, so I haven't had any, since Cary and I have been married. Cary doesn't like the smell of salmon, so he has never tried any. He's not a fish person, but will eat fried filleted catfish every now and then when our fire dept. has their bi-annual fish fry.

I drug out our luggage for our trip, yesterday. It's been covered while in storage, but I wanted to open everything up to air out. I'm waiting until the last minute to pack, so I can see what the temps will be that weekend.

I'm giving myself a mani-pedi, today. I have a doctor appointment for a checkup with my PCP, tomorrow. I'm going to ask him to make an x-ray of my right hip and thigh. 4 months ago, my rheumatologist said the pain I was having was just bursitis without even checking it. It has only gotten worse, since then. As long as I'm up, it doesn't hurt too bad, but when I sit for awhile or try to sleep at night, it gets quite painful. The pain I'm having with this is something quite different from sciatica. I hope it's not from side effects of the Prolia injections I have every 6 months. At least with x-rays, we can hopefully see what's going on, and possibly rule out a few things.

Nothing going on here today. High temp will be 66. 73 tomorrow.

I'm cooking breakfast for supper, tonight. Bacon, cheese omelets, homemade hash browns, and biscuits.

That does sound like bursitis, Sherree. Did they give you any exercises to do? I developed B bursitis in my left hip this winter...first time in my life. I dug out the exercise sheet hubby used when he had it, and within a few days, it was pretty much gone.

Good Sunday morning, wow another week.

I took my morning supplements this morning for the first time in awhile. I don't know why I resist taking them.

Its going to be in the 70's for the next several days. typical for here.

I'm blessed and i know it.

Yes. My rheumatologist did, but they haven't helped much. This has been going on for over 4 months with no relief. The pain is so bad at night, I have to take 2 extra strength Aleve, before bedtime, just to get a bit of sleep. During the day, it doesn't bother me too much. If the x-rays show nothing, it may well turn out to be nothing more than a severe case of bursitis. I already know that I have degenerative arthritis in my thoracic spine, and I want to make sure that is not what's going on with my hip, or a slight fracture from the side effects of Prolia.

Gearing up for what is hopefully our last round of repair and clean. 3 properties in 3 years has us both ready for real time off. This is not what we planned for our later years but ya do what you gotta do. At least there is no heavy lifting. DH has decided he still isn't ready to deal with his parents things so it is all going into storage. Fortunately there is a building on the place that we can fix up and secure to put things in. Today I will empty it so we can see what is needed. A door, a floor, and lots of sealing up is my guess. There isn't a lot to store, thank goodness.

Dug out a pair of coveralls so I can check under the house. I want to do that now while my chances of disturbing some crawling creature are low. Mostly I just want to get it done while I can still do it.

Spent yesterday putting up meat and fish in 6oz batches for DHs diet. Will cook a week's worth today. I don't like using a microwave but with me working long hours it is the only way DH can have 3 hot meals. We brought a small microwave out of the closet for him to use. He is losing both weight and inches so this is good.

Our snow and ice are finally gone. Now it's just mud and more mud. I have been keeping our good rig pristine but that is about to change. One of the reasons we got it was for the 4wd and rough road conditions as a backup if the need arose. It was great for getting us out to the nursing home when conditions were spotty and now it will get us through the mud. It's nothing a good power wash won't fix. Might, just might, join the kids for some off road camping this summer now that DH is feeling good enough to enjoy driving.

Prayers said for you, FF! I hope you are released soon!

It's mid-30s and wall-to-wall sunshine here. I'm headed out in a bit for socializing & brunch.

The weather guessers are discussing a 60 degree day for tomorrow, which is both exciting and scary. That's getting warm enough for tornadoes to form. It's only one day, so I'm worried about the bulbs and fruit trees, but I don't like this trend of warm weather followed by sub-zero temps. That's enough of a swing to kill plants and produce violent storms.

I predict a wild weather month if this trend continues.

"Weather Guessers"! I like that. I'm going to start using that, LOL.

You're right about those 60 degree days bringing violent weather when a cold front hits it. We are going through the same down here. It's going to be in the 70's for us the next few days, then turning cold again. It's typical here this time of year. That's the reason our primary tornado season starts in February.

Prayers said, ff.

Good afternoon.

I'm tired. Another purging with help. Another two large contractor bags and a can of trash. And another pile in the van for thrift. Some stuff to the garage but we still haven't come close to filling the space we cleared.

And honestly I love it. I'm going to have to take measurements so I can look at getting bookcases.

I had to explain to friend the difference between a stepper and an under the desk bicycle. And I'm hoping to tackle two more chunks of the mess during the week. That should help get a large part of the desk cleared.

At the same time, Another friend stopped by to help with the van door issue. The electric track for that door is now disconnected. That should stop the problems until I can order a replacement one.

But my body is now somewhat pissed about all of the bending, lifting, flexing, etx, so I'm going to chill for a bit.

Meemur is right the crazy temp changes can lead to nasty stuff. The same year we lost our home to a tornado the last of June, my cousin and his wife lost theirs in March. The next year my aunt and uncle lost their home to a freak tornado that did some damage to the town, but their home was the only one lost. I'm north, cousin central and aunt & uncle southern Iowa. Our tornado was much larger and took out 100 or so homes plus damaged others, took three churches, middle school and several businesses. A friend said they were glad they weren't related to me!

I made it to church today. Low attendance today with whole families missing. Probably some traveling and some ill. Guest speaker who was interesting. We have so many new families that I've not met and lots of new kids running around. It is hard to get acquainted with younger families as they migrate towards their own age group.

I have no enthusiasm for cooking supper, so my mind is going through easy options. I have a frozen pot pie that is at the top of the list at the moment. I have some French bread in the freezer and baby carrots in the fridge so that may be what I eat and call it good ... not great, just good. I have several meals of leftover crockpot pork chops and potatoes I made yesterday but I want something different tonight.

Yes, meal fatigue happens. The pot pie sounds good! I was going to have an open face hot chicken sandwich with chicken gravy, the last of the leftover chicken, but I ended up making bacon and eggs, plus re-heating some of the pancakes I was given from today's American Legion breakfast (I'm friends with one of the cooks and get leftovers sometimes).

It'll be Lent soon, so there will be lots of opportunities for fish dinners. I'm looking forward to that.

I’m home and relaxing after a full day with the grands! Mom and dad were trying to finish up a couple projects they can’t do with the kids underfoot. Dh and I were both down yesterday helping and dsil’s mother was supposed to come today but didn’t feel well and the kids both have little colds so dd asked if I could come back. Of course I could! I’m not a germaphobe and I was already with them lol.
So I spent the last two days entertaining a 3yo and a 8 month old who felt kinda off. It was fine. We watched some paw patrol and built a pillow fort and crawled around….oh and we ate. Neither one of them are going to miss a meal lol. Only time dd had to come in was to nurse him twice and eat her lunch. I tell ya though….. I ain’t as young as I once was lol!!
Tomorrow I get the stitches out of my head and I can’t wait. They itch! Then to a group meeting at church and home.
I don’t have anything planned again till Friday when I’m going to a big fabric warehouse sale with a friend.
Oh and I finally got my get home bag packed and in the truck. That way had I ended up staying overnight I’d have everything I needed. I still need to get a few other things moved into the truck but hopefully this week that will happen.

Digger tonight I went to make fishcakes from canned salmon and found the can opener broken. Weather's incoming so I pivoted to a sandwich and a cold veggie, fruit cheese platter. After dinner I finally remembered the P38 in my BOB. Insert forehead palm slap here.

It's 1 degree right now. Warming to 29 I think? After that, way up!
Fixed the basement step and cleaned a little more down there.
Softener place will have to come look at unit, might have to replace part that always seems to freeze in the polar weather.
Son was up all night tending stove and running water. Let me get some sleep. He and I are sick of this weather.
Been up since 4. Coffee. Holy smokes forecast calls for near 50 end of week!

Coffee is all that keeping me going this morning. I couldn't sleep last night and finally drifted off at about 3:00 and at about 4:30 the alarm for the shop went off. It was like I was in another world, I was in such a deep sleep, my brain couldn't register where that sound was coming from and it seemed to take forever to get it shut off. The part of the alarm that makes noise is at the peak of the roof of our house. I can't even explain how irritating it is and that is a good thing.

DH jumped up, grabbed the appropriate equipment from the bedside table, slid his shoes on and took off while I was trying to figure where I was lol. There was a feral cat that sometimes hangs around and that was all he found. My theory is it was somebody that lit out as soon as that alarm went off. We've acquired some shady neighbors. As for the cat hanging around, I suspect my very tender hearted hubby is slipping it some food ever so often. We have rabbits and squirrels among other wild things that hang around and they never set it off.

In my defense, I was right behind him and immediately woke up teenage grandson who was spending the night and then I took off after him but only got to the end of the porch before he told me not to bother.

He knew I was having trouble sleeping and told me to stay in bed...as if I'm going to roll over and go back to sleep with him leaving while it was still dark and the alarm had gone off for the only time since it was installed several years ago except for test runs. Later, when it's a little lighter and has warmed up some, I'm going to get DGS to go with me to do my own investigating.

I've taken Benadryl for years as a sleep aid and to help with my chronic allergies. I just take 1/2 of one at night but I decided a couple weeks ago to give it up. My sleep has been hit or miss since then. Last night my allergies were acting up and my right eye was itching so bad, it was miserable. I also take melatonin and I'm still taking it. If my allergies are that bad tonight I'm going to go ahead and take the half benadryl for just tonight.

A high of a wonderful 74 degrees, today. It's going to feel like Spring for a few days then a drop in temp is coming. It won't be a big drop, though. Back into the 60's for the most part.

Doctor appointment this afternoon. Since Valentine's Day is coming up, Cary wants to go ahead and take me out, since we won't be back in Tupelo, til after Valentine's Day. Need to stop at the bank, and Cary wants to check on buying 3 cords of firewood to replace what we've used this winter. Doing it himself this year has really kicked his butt. He can still do it, but it does take a toll on him. It would be easier on him to buy it already cut, and there is plenty for sale around here every year. Cost is not so bad, either.

I pray that you and DS can find a warmer spot to land before next winter. I admire you for being able to do all the things you do but you deserve a break after all you've been through.

We are suppose to hit 79 and way above normal temps for the next couple of weeks but we still have snow on the ground in patches. They must have put some antifreeze in that stuff because we've had so much warmer than normal temps since it fell and it's taking it's time melting. I've never experienced weather this warm, consistantly, for this many days at this time of year and I've lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. I'm loving it but, at the same time, it concerns me just a little. I can't imagine what kind of summer we are looking at. I'm just hoping we get some rebound on the pollinator population with this very mild winter...except for the recent winter storm.

Yeah, other than a couple of these artic blasts, we've really had a mild winter. I hope the freezes helped to kill off a few bugs, though, except for the bees. I'm allergic to honey bees, but they do wonders for the garden. I'm ready for the heat of Summer. These hard freezes we've had has me wishing we lived a bit farther South. It's a "Southern" thing, I know, but I hate cold weather.

It's supposed to hit 60 here today, but I'll believe it when it happens. It's in the upper 30s right now

I've got to get some loofah and marigold seeds started today without fail. I've been trying to do that for the last several days. I'm starting the marigolds early for morale reasons: they grow easily in without a plant light in the south kitchen window. I'll also plant more in March. They will hang out with the tomatoes. I think they are helpful in keeping deer and rabbits away, even if others don't. They're pretty and cheap for me to grow.

It's also haircut time, again. I think I'll take another shot at trimming it since the flu is still going around.

Wishing everyone a fun and productive day!

Marigolds and zinnias are my favorite summer time flowers. Roses are Cary's. I sow the seeds all throughout my tomato and pepper beds each year when it's time to plant. I don't have anything eating on the tomatoes or peppers, either, plus, they make for a colorful garden. I thin them out if necessary as they grow.

My hair needs trimming again, too. I love the "beard trimming" method, so I do it myself. That only works for long hair, though. I always hated to go to the "beauty shop" to get my hair done. When I wore it much shorter, I kept perms in it all the time. I colored it myself.

The forecast on computer says it's 58º but my car thermometer says 41º and doesn't feel like 58º. Low to night 32º. Newspaper weekly forecast says possibility of snow on Thursday and low that day forecast 26º so ...

Today has been a slow day for accomplishments as I did not sleep much last night. I did take recycling to bins which cleared a lot out of the garage. I last took recycling in November, and all my garage bins were full or overflowing. Plastic had graduated to a large garbage bag in early January.

Friend and I went to the nursing home to visit two friends. Had a lovely visit with each of them. The local nursing home is one of the best in the entire country which is a huge blessing. In the six years my m-i-l was there she only had one bad incident and that was with a contract weekend employee not local staff. I reported it and that lady was never seen in the facility again.

Both friends had new study Bibles and after reviewing them, I think I might order one. Henry Morris Study Bible, King James Version. My study Bible is 42 years old a King James Scofield which is showing its age. I have a newer New Internation Version that I mostly use, but it is not a study Bible with all the footnotes, concordance etc. The Henry Morris Study Bible has footnotes in regular size print which I appreciate as the Scofield footnotes are sometime difficult for my old eyes to read.

I just put an acorn squash in the oven to go with cheeseburger for supper. Tomorrow's supper will be the leftover pork and then Wednesday spaghetti. That means a leftover cheeseburger another evening (I always cook two), two more leftover pork meals and 4 or 5 spaghetti meals. No more cooking for the week! I would like to bake some dinner rolls this week which would go great with all the leftovers. I wanted to do rolls last week but my hand was hurting so much I was afraid I would not be able to finish shaping them.

Me too. It hurts me physically. At this point I will take any kind of pollinators. We've learned to welcome wasps into the garden. Without them, I wouldn't have any pinkeye purple hulls.
