Kroger has whitening toothpastes for .88 cents - bought two, added them to the paste pile.
ibuprofen-100 count for 1.49$ We keep jumbo size bottles but these little ones are good for back ups. They also had aspirin but I didn’t buy those. I e had them go bad too quickly in the past.
flu/cold cough syrup, (two pack special for 3.49$ )
all of these were in the sale aisle.
(I do watch the exp dates in that aisle, but always buy these when I see them)

Dh uses dental floss instead of thread. I don't know if that would work for you or not.

I had to stop by Walgreen today for a prescription. Picked up 6 bottles of Dawn dish soap. Now 7 oz a bottle. I remember when the little bottles were 12 oz. At least they were only 79 cents each. I have a bunch, was just adding more.
Broke up another box of sticks collected on my morning walks. Filled another kitty litter bucket 2/3's of the way. Refilled the box with sticks that had been building up outside. They need some time to dry out completely before being added to the collection. Also ended up with several good size pieces that are perfect for kindling for the fireplace. Have a little over half a rubbermaid container full of those now. We haven't really used the fireplace in a long time. Florida just doesn't get that cold. I love a nice, crackling fire (and so do the cats), but my work schedule the last few years, as well as very mild winters, has kept us from using it much.
I also tried Zataran's dirty rice (with the added hamburger) for the first time. How did I make it to 57 without ever having tasted this yummy stuff before? Too spicy for my wimpy better half, but I loved it. Will add more to the stockpile. Will try their red beans and rice version next, adding the sliced sausage. Love red beans and rice, so looking forward to an easy way to make it.

We did our big shopping yesterday and today, dollar stores, dollar tree, WM, etc. We stick to a list I start making about a week prior.
There is a good thrift store in town too. They have a free table about 20 feet long. I always have to go look. Got a really nice stereo speaker (a ball thing) that works amazing. Very loud. Works on phone and chromebook.
Good deals are out there. No canning stuff at all. Even the seal a meal is out. Dollar Tree did have pint jars with lids and rings in the glassware section.

I believe they also have a version with cheese of the dirty rice but I’ve also added cheese to the regular version to tone the spice down for me. We love the black bean, red bean and the white bean and rice mixes although the white bean is harder for us to find. We add smoked sausage to those mixes as well as the jambalaya which hubby likes better than I do.

DH did a little shopping at Kroger this morning. Somethings on the list weren’t on the shelves *sigh* but he did come home with 16 lbs of butter so yay for that. It was on sale $1.99 a lb for the Kroger brand. My family uses lots of butter.

I noticed at Sam's in Springfield, MO on Monday - the 12 lb bags of Member's Mark pinto beans have been in the $7-$8 range for a few years now, and yesterday they were almost $1/lb!
Lots of rice, flour, etc. More TP than they had a few weeks ago but still not much, mostly lots of everything else but they were low on house brand peanut butter.

I need to gather sticks for my rocket stove, especially since we have all these downed limbs from the storms, thanks for the reminder. Here in north central Louisiana it does get cold enough for us to use our wood stove. DH already had way way more wood than we would use in a year, and now he is probably going to have to build something to hold all the newer wood from the storm.
As for Zatarans dirty rice, yum yum, but then I live in the land of dirty rice. I'm not a rice eater but I do love dirty rice, I have some in my stores. I have not fixed any in a good while because DH probably would not eat it because he doesn't eat rice. Before I moved to the woods I would cook the brown rice dirty rice and even my native New Orleanean ex liked it.

Oh, I use Zatarain's all the time. We love the dirty rice with ground beef and the red beans and rice with Polish sausage. I like to use those little smokies in it, too. I also have the recipes for both, but the box type is quick and easy if you want a quick and easy meal. I have several boxes in storage.
Getting ready to sell some ammo to finance a couple of projects I want to get done before Nov. The shack chimney, larger shelter for the rabbits and if I have any money left start my big rainwater system. Wont get the rainwater system done but if I can at least get the gutters and a couple of the totes its a start.

I think we're all in a race for time to get most things done by the election. I know we are. We do need to get another rain barrel for our rainwater system. Cary installed gutters on our back deck which has a partial roof. That's where the new rain barrel will go. We're steadily moving forward.

104 degrees today. I guess it fried the flashing sign at the bank, it said, "Temperature 39 degrees F Have a nice day!" I don't know if I'm going to survive this summer...

DH caught another pig in his pig trap yesterday. Pastor was supposed to come over to get it but he's tied up, so Ross shot it and skinned it and put two hams to chill before we put it in the freezer or he grinds it up to make sausage links. All this pig skinning he's been doing with our young pastor has made him want to process the deer this season. Yuck, but you have to do what you have to do, he's such a good fellow to me, we all have to do things we would rather not do.

We went to Sam's today, after seeing my Rheumatologist. Everything at Sam's looked to be pretty normal again. I didn't need much, so I only bought what I needed for the next two weeks, except a case of canned milk for storage. I use a lot of that, and needed to add more. I also picked up two more pair of jeans for myself.
My pantry room is bulging. The small space in our bedroom is full. Under our bed is full. My laundry room cabinets are full. So is my outdoor storage barn. My two chest freezers and fridge freezer are all full. I'm absolutely done prepping. From now on, I'm only going to buy what I use over a two week period. I'll keep a running list on my kitchen counter as my shopping list. Lately, I've been using money out of our cash emergency fund. Funds are getting too low for our liking, so I need to stop prepping in order to build funds back up. Cary still needs to get that other rain barrel soon.

Their Gumbo mix makes a good base to build on. I have to add my own hot sauces, chopped jalapenos to get it hot enough for me, but it beats starting from scratch when I'm craving Gumbo in the winter time. I always add three meats- Shrimp, chopped chicken breast and real andouille sausage.

We've eaten almost every kind Zatarain's makes, except for Gumbo. Cary won't eat anything that has okra in it! I love it, though.

Smart man.
Got an order from Walmart today. Just a few things we needed. Part of it was two 10# bags of sugar. One bag was ripped open and spilled out a couple pounds and I put the remainder in our sugar canister. Did a three minute chat online with Walmart and they immediately credited me for the one bag of sugar. I think they did okay. Sometimes damage happens during shipments.

I'm about to run out of jars for the first time ever. I've got three empty pint jars, maybe 2 dozen quarts, and 2 dozen 1/2 pints. Got a batch of applesauce cooking now that will use the 1/2 pints. Getting some crowder peas from a friend tomorrow and that will use some of the quarts. I really want to make a batch of apple butter this year but don't want to put it in quart jars. Trying to see if dd has any and looking online.....dh is gonna have a cow if I buy more jars though lol.

Be careful with walmart.com. my daughter and I both had our accounts hacked. They weren't too concerned. My bank credited my money back. Walmart said I would have to contact police and address it myself.

Honestly, you can't really taste or get any mouth feel from the okra. All the veggies in it are freeze dried and very small. My wife hates okra and loves my home made Gumbo, but it takes about 4 hours to make it right. I can use the Zat's and have it ready in 35 minutes.
We also use just about all of the Zatarain's stuff (boxed, spices, etc.) and love it.

Obviously that could happen anyplace that you do business, even at your own bank. Walmart only has my credit card so any fraudulent charges are easily removed. I have had to change my credit card number three times in the last 6 or 7 years due to hacking. Once was for that hack at Home Depot several years back. Its a hassle but not a big deal.

We also had the same thing happen. Of all things the hackers were buying Netflix accounts with it. When I contacted Walmart they blew me off. The Credit Card company cancelled the card and I have no clue if they followed up on it or not.
We knew it had to be Walmart because when we caught it the first time, it happened again and the only place I had used the replacement card was Walmart.

Got scammed 4 times this year. Haven't had any problem with Walmart online, only use paypal and they have fixed it everytime.
Made a 3 gallon bucket of pickled eggs. They are good. Got gallon jars of pickled sweet peppers and one of okra. Good eats.

Cary got a notification from LifeLock two days ago that someone opened a bank account in his name, and a card was issued to this person. It's under investigation right now. Having LifeLock is worth the money. They've done great jobs for us in the past when our bank accounts were hacked. We never lost a penny.
