"Time To Bud Light Them": Tyson Foods Firing Blue-Collar Workers & Replacing Them With Illegals | ZeroHedge

SATURDAY, MAR 16, 2024 - 12:00 AM

Calls for a boycott are intensifying on X following Tyson Foods' announcement earlier this week to shutter a pork processing facility in Perry, Iowa. This move will eliminate 1,276 blue-collar jobs. At the same time, the mega food processor has expressed interest in hiring tens of thousands of illegals.

"While this decision was not easy, it emphasizes our focus to optimize the efficiency of our operations to best serve our customers," a Tyson spokesperson said in a statement to Food Dive.

Perhaps the optimization part of the supply chain is better explained by Garrett Dolan, who leads Tyson's efforts to eliminate employment barriers such as immigration status, told Bloomberg, "We would like to employ another 42,000 [migrants] if we could find them."

Or explained by Charlie Kirk...

The idea that Tyson is firing hardworking Americans while attempting to exploit cheap labor from illegals enraged X users. Many of them called for a boycott of all Tyson's brands.

And it begins.

Ouch. I was lazy in waking up this morning. Then I got going.

Ramps and stinging nettle planted. Removed the sides of the old wood raised bed. Then used the weedeater to scalp the grass that is in the way. Then started moving soil so I can put the landscape cloth and cardboard down before putting the raised bed in place.

And twonloads of laundry. And pool filled. And chlorinator filled.

And right now I have the shakes from moving the soil. So I'm going to rest for a bit before I get dinner going. I still need to do some cleanup from potting things. And I need to get the filter going.

We put privacy screen on the street side of the fence last week. We ended up wrapping it around the end post and back up. I like that. The back yard is completely protected from view.

Anyways, going to take 15 and then make dinner.

No bad weather in our area but was overcast and warm. As a result we got lots of work done. The new turkey poults are quite entertaining. In fact, fixed a sitting area so we can watch them! We think poultry watching is better than TV. A nice way to end the day. Melons and cantaloupe are coming up and corn is boldly up. Looks like the corn will be a good a stand. The only thing that is spotty are the sunflowers. I need to give it a few more days before I truly call it spotty! Seed may be a little too old this year but shouldn't be.
Continue to work on my carrot and onion skills. I am also rooting some native azaleas and roses. That is a whole new adventure for me!
Have a great weekend!
Almost forgot SB...I follow a youtube channel The Zimmerman Homestead. I am sure you have all seen it. She has a Pizza recipe where she uses her sourdough discard. Cooks it in a cast iron skillet. I haven't made it but have it in my "pantry" recipe notebook. Looks simple and delicious.

We don't buy Tysons chicken.. we just don't want antibiotics in our chicken
We buy Perdue or Springhill
We can taste the difference
Don't go to Chick-fil-A since they changed.... They promised no antibiotics but recently changed... and said antibiotics are in their chicken now ..
Plus Tyson bought the big bug factory.. so they are on the big BUG band wagon.. wonder how long before their breaded stuff has bugs in it.

Thank you Wildwood. We have heard from all the kids. The oldest boy has a baby about to turn 1. The mother lost custody of him when he was 15. He was in a youth home awhile, but he was probably better off there. The 2 youngest kids are still with their mother. There are drugs and mental illness involved. The grandmother has been diagnosed as schizophrenic. I suspect the kids mother is too. She has to have something not right to treat her kids the way they were treated.

Hubby had his Urology check up in Ft Smith. They only see one stone in his kidney, but it is 1.2 cm. It hasn't moved or grown since he has been going to this clinic. He is opting to wait and check it again in Oct.

He is still seeing good results with his weekly blood sugar shot. He has lost 18 pounds so far and his fasting blood sugar is continuing to drop.

While in Ft Smith we went to the Aldi store. We bought a few things. I bought several of their chocolate bars to try. I kept seeing on the internet that they are very good. The one I opened is miles better than anything I have had from American companies. Hubby thinks the quarter to get a cart is weird, but works.

We are getting lots of rain. It really poured last night. Later I will have to put some hay in the chicken run to get them out of the wet. Their house is dry, but the run gets wet with lots of blowing rain and run off when it comes this fast. We have several days of rain still to come. I can work in my flower beds though between rains. And I want to divide my Boston fern. I have not ever tried that. I want to make 3-4 pieces. It is getting root bound. I repotted it last year but it needs more room again.

Stay safe everyone, may God bless all my TB friends.
I'm so glad you've been able to hear from them. I called DDIL last night to give her the good news and the little stinkers already knew but hadn't told me yet. Your DS had called them several days ago to let them know. We are all happy for him and all the rest of you too!

I tried that Aldi chocolate but I can't buy any more of it...way too tempting. I agree with hubby about that quarter. I try to look around for someone in the parking lot to give it to.

Dodged the severe weather here. Got out of the hospital this afternoon in time to make Sabbath service.

Around 2 AM the massive rainfall of the past several days reached the point that tonight's heavy rainfall caused large amounts of water to start coming into my basement. It hasn't flooded this bad in about ten years. No floor drains or sump pump.

1.37" since midnight. 1.13" Saturday, 1.82" Friday, & 0.52" Thursday. Total of 4.84" since 1:30 Thursday afternoon.

From an article Cary just posted on "Main".

Climate-Smart Commodities – Planning the Economy through Subsidized Intervention

Under the recently announced Climate-Smart Commodities program, the USDA has appropriated $3.1 billion in tax subsidies to one hundred and forty-one new private Climate-Smart projects, ranging from carbon sequestration to Climate-Smart meat and forestry practices.

Private investors such as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos – who just committed $1 billion to the development of lab cultured meat-like molds, and meat grown in petri dishes, to

Ballpark, formerly known for its hot dogs but is now harvesting python meat, is rushing to cash in on this new industry, and the OneHealth/USDA certification program.

Just one reason we boycott Amazon and anything Jeff Bezos. He owns Ballpark franks. Those python hot dogs I'm sure are great.

Laundry going. Packed up some dolls the great decided were creepy. One of them is a talking teletubby. I agree with her on that one. Bagged them for donation. Looks like we will have great on weekends for couple months. Like having the energizer bunny tied to you.

DH went thru big freezer and organized for next round of canning. I spent yesterday going thru papers. Will fill trash bags half full ( too heavy to carry if more in there) and throw them in the brush pile to burn. Way too much paper to sit and feed burn barrel a page or two at a time. Keeping sentimental stuff. Will be giving the kids all of their old notes, etc. Especially the "my life is over. I am grounded again. Stupid rules" ones.

Once the rain stops we have to fix fence. Neighbors cows want to live in my yard and I refuse to live in a feedlot. Snakes and ticks are out. Blackberry bushes are loaded with blooms.

Used Life360 for first time to monitor grand's road trip. It's an app that allowed us to see where she was at all times in real time on my phone. It was at her request so we weren't invading her privacy. Right now I can see that she stopped in West Plains. I don't like having my location turned on but this is at least for a good reason.

Adding more canned goods to my stock. Hadn't planned on it but the urge is there so I am paying attention. Ordering some backup cpap items from amazon.

Finally ended up with 1.56" after midnight.

Rain finally slacked off aroun 5:30 AM and incoming water slowed down around 6:30. Finally got to bed at 7:10 AM.

Thank goodness for wet/dry shop vacs. Removed around 12 gallons of water before finally going to bed.
