Good Morning, All! It's a beautiful morning here - sunny and supposed to warm up into the 70's, woo-hoo!! I can't bemoan the rain we've had lately too much though - my big rainwater tank (1000 gal) is half full already! Love me some rainwater to wash my hair!

We've gotten a lot accomplished the past several days. The handyman and I got my old washer/dryer set out of the basement on Thursday, and he got the utility room painted so that I could get it scrubbed before the new set came on Friday. I happened on a re-gifting site post where a young family was needing a washer; then when the handyman and I had stopped by the new hardware store in town to pick up a turnbuckle and some clamps to put up new lines on my clothesline, the lady who helped us find the clamps mentioned that she'd be buying some for herself as her dryer had quit and she couldn't afford a new one. I said "I have an older, working one you can have..." So both appliances got loaded on the trailer and were dropped off at the two homes when I took the handyman home; so glad to see them going to someone who could use them instead of just being scrapped out! Friday was spent waiting on the new washer and dryer to be delivered while doing a lot of miscellaneous chores around the place.

Yesterday, Hubby built a new half-door on the utility room doorway - tall enough to keep the geriatric cat in, but short enough to allow me to see over it and to provide good ventilation; and also allow light from the window in that room to brighten the family room - win, win, win!! The handyman built me a laundry basket dresser to go in between the washer and dryer; and they both knocked some of those other chores off the list. In the meantime, I took a drive and managed to add to our preps - a new lab mix (Hubby says mixed with Rottweiler) 2 year old pup joined our family yesterday afternoon :) Journey, you can see a photo of him on my FB page!

Today, as soon as the grandson I somehow picked up along the way yesterday finishes his breakfast, we will head to town to pick up the handyman again. Today is a short day, but will be spent getting all the garden raised beds cleaned out, the older garden spots mowed off and raked, new latches put on my trailer tailgate, and picking up two different tires for granddaughter's volleyball posts. I argued against the 265/70R16 tires that I ended up bringing home, but, as usual, lost the argument - at least for that moment. 3 - 80# bags of sackrete and 60# of sand later, I have one post set and the darn thing is so heavy that it takes 2 men, a boy, and a dog to move the darn thing. It's going in to a permanent home as a tetherball post in the boys' play area, and two smaller tires are coming home to be made into volleyball posts. Hopefully, those will get done by the handyman tomorrow...

I have to have the handyman home by 2pm today, then have to pick up the other grandson by 3pm, feed both a snack and then take them to 'Ninja school' (tumbling class lol!) from 4 to 5pm, then it's feed them again before having them at the T-ball field by the VFW a little before 6pm, where we will meet their Dad, aka: Coach. The younger one has a game and I'll run herd on the older one until the game is over. Note to self: throw a lawn chair in the van! Then I plan to come home and collapse

Tomorrow, I'll pick up the handyman again but it will be another short day as I'm going to need to get some rest before going back to work on Thursday and Friday! I won't be very surprised if the grandkids end up spending part of the weekend here...

Off to see if I can con the short guy into changing out of his pjs for the trip to town...

I've been working so much I haven't had much time to do anything else. However, tax season is now over (finally!) so that should partially change. My other job keeps me busy with overtime as well.

Today I stopped by Walgreens to pick up some OTC meds I needed that were on sale. Just happened to turn around and see the vitamins. Their version generic multi, box of 130, on clearance for $3.99. They rang up at $1.99. I bought enough for 3 years, as they were dated out until 7/20. Eight bottles for about the cost of one name brand bottle. I thought that was a good deal :)

Working a 60hour week with alternating shifts - ugh - but I did it to myself. Worked calves this morning, and DH just left to take them up to their mamas in the pasture (we hauled the mamas this morning to make working the calves easier). Got the water tank running and the corral fixed (not a huge deal) this morning as well. Heading to bed so I can make my 7p-7a shift.

Working more this week, so that'll be bringing extra $ in to pay off bills. Cukes I planted are up (huzzah!!!). Waiting a few more days to get more seed in, and the hens are laying again, so that's about 4 eggs/day :D Definitely got some quiche in my future ...

You all have been really busy wow.

For us we got our meat bird chicks, got 5 week old turkeys for the price of 3, 2 bronze breasted and 3 whites. Plus week old Jersey Giant chicks 3 white and 3 black. Picked up hubby a baker's dozen of white work socks for just under $10.00 that were on sale :).
