Has No Life - Lives on TB
I do have to tell you that I have discovered what may be the greatest secret in medical offshoots. I was told by several in my luncheon Bible group that MANY of the doctors here are DUCKS.....
you know, as in QUACKS!!!
BUT,n there is a man and his daughter here, who are specialists in Natural Health. His name is Jim Hill and he has a couple of PhDs in NUTRITION and in Natural Health.
I saw another doc yesterday, and was basically told that my spine has pretty much totally "demineralized," which is to say there is precious little BONE LEFT and I am at major risk of multiple breaks in my vertebrae!!!! Now, I am also upset with my docs from Missouri, because I had multiple X-rays and an MRI there and I am sure this did not just happen over night!!!! And no one even thought to mention......oh, BTW, you need to increase calcium and stop doing certain other things which are destroying your bones (like drinking sodas, which I have basically stopped for about the past 6 years).

Well, anyway, this guy, Jim Hill, went back and got his degrees, because he was met with the same problems I am having, when his wife's back had ruptured discs also, and the doctors allowed her bones to deteriorate also. Anyway, he interprets medical tests and tells you what they actually MEAN, and how to FIX your body with VITAMINS and supplements!!

One of the women in my group had also been diagnosed with osteoporosis and by taking a calcium supplement that Jim showed her, she was able to change her situation into osteopenia, which is NOT AS BAD as osteoporosis. Jim told her that she would have to take the meds for a year, but they would relieve the issue and that is EXACTLY what happened!!! I am VERY EXCITED!!!! I just emailed Jim and he sent me the info and that I can order from Amazon.
It is VERY SCARY to me that here is someone who apparently knows far more about medicine and how to heal people than any of corporate medicine!!!

He reminds me of SUMMERTHYME and her knowledge and ability to heal!!! THANK YOU GOD that I found this guy!!! I have ordered the calcium and other mineral supplements he advised me to get and I feel that I am VERY BLESSED!!!

I had a bone density test done a few years ago. It showed that I was borderline osteopenia. My rheumatologist suggested I take Citracal with D3 which is a calcium supplement. I've been taking it, plus more D3 for my condition. I plan to keep taking it just in case.

Please make sure if you are taking D3, to include vitamin K2, so the calcium you ingest actually gets into your bones, not your arteries.

Also, if your doctor pushes Fosamax... don't! It actually messes with the rebuilding of healthy bone... bones look better on bone density testing, but they aren't any stronger.

I refused to take Fosamax. It made me sick, so I threw it away. That's when doctor recommended Calcium with D3 and extra D3. I didn't know that about K2. I'll have to add that. My last bone density test showed all was good, compared to the one I had a few years ago.

MARANTHA!! Even so, come LORD JESUS!!!
Don't you find it terrifying that we pay these doctors a tremendous amount of money and either they don't know what they are doing, or they just DON'T CARE and are more than happy to charge for multiple tests, but then refuse to provide information to the patient to HELP them get better!!

The collagen powder also contains the nine essential ammo acids that you must get from foods as your body can not produce them....Uber important..
At 77 I have never had a broke bone ..I have strong bones..
I have read that you should only use live calcium.... or from foods like cheese milk veggies fish and so forth... foods your body can digest and process naturally
Of course iodine plays a large role in bone health...we use kelp and plenty of seafood in our diet...while avoiding, chlorine, bromine and fluoride which block iodine being absorbed by the thyroid.....

We are back from town and at least got the cold and frozen stuff put away. The other things will have to wait. I'm worn out. They were out of four things, one of which was cut okra, there was no okra at all. Got it at a different store and they were low on it.

Sherree, I told DH about the tuna noodle salad and he said it sounded good. Thanks again for the information.

My big prep for the week is completed.

Health care is a necessary prep!

I was scheduled for a colonoscopy on Thursday. I called the doctor’s office Wednesday after I had started the colon cleanse prep.

Low and behold the office lady royally FUBARed the appointment time.

Due to my being on a CPap my original appointment was changed from the low key colonoscopy clinic to same day surgery to have an anesthesia doc attending.

The scheduler told me the wrong day and set the appointment on a totally different day for eight P.M today.

No one caught the timing error till I called. Oops.

After speaking with her she was able to get me scheduled for this morning. So I had an extra day of fasting and cleansing.

My previous colonoscopy was problematic because I was alert during most of it. Thank goodness I was able to have a different doctor for the one done this week. And full sedation.

Both my mom and dad died from colon cancer and I wanted a baseline colonoscopy since my last one was in my early fifties. Thankfully I have Medicare and a supplemental gap insurance plan now.

The doc removed two rectal polyps and a sigmoid polyp.

The lab biopsy will take two to three weeks to get the results.

I am thankful to have an excellent doctor and the surgery and recovery nurses were outstanding in their care.

One of the surgery nurses remembered me from a community college class we took together way back in 1987. What a trip.

I am thankful for my husband being here to drive me home.

Praying that the polyps are benign.

I'm thankful for all of mine and Cary's doctors. They do care and it makes all the difference.

My mom and 2 of her sisters were diagnosed with breast cancer, but all recovered. That's why I'm faithful about getting my mammogram every year. Doctor and nurses there are great, too.

Praying for you.
Thank you so very much!

Dear husband Marshall sure needs prayers as well.

He is older than I by a lot and his mom died from metastatic colon cancer.

He was raised to distrust preachers, doctors and the government. So anything medical is problematic and his mother died at 74. She had ignored her medical symptoms because of her fear of doctors and her cancer was diagnosed when it was at the point of no interventions due to the huge tumors she had. A very horrific time of pain for her.

He gets grumpy when I am sick. His plan was to pass on before me. He hates seeing me sick. He does an admiral job helping me.

He gets grumpy when watching the news.
The only good thing he gets from the news is when commentators speak on their faith in Jesus Christ.

Over forty years ago he would be upset if I attended church. Overtime he became acquainted with strong faithful Christian men. Now he appreciates my Rocky road of faith.

He was raised in an occult anti Christian home. Praise the Lord his mom did come to know Jesus Christ as her Savior before she passed away.

My prayer and hope is having his daughter, sister and in-laws and he come to know the mercy and grace in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

I've been taking the Great Lakes Collagen off and on for several years. I'm also 77 and have never broken a bone, and I've had some bad falls in the last few years. And I take kelp.

I got the mower started! I cut the front lawn for the first time this year. I'll have to look at my records, but I think this is the earliest I've ever cut the lawn since I've lived in Iowa. I have cut it as early as April 15th in Ohio, but that wasn't typical.

This year is not atypical. The one certain thing about Iowa weather is that it is totally unpredictable. We can have frost in June and 70 degrees in January. Temps can drop 30 + degrees in a couple hours.

So glad it's Friday - it has been a LONG day. got home early to 'the cows broke the fence' - so helped a bit with the fence and moving cows (and separating out neighbors) for a bit. I'm tired.

I did get to see a nutrition client this morning - hoping it will add to my side hustle.

I believe my colonoscopy saved my life. (I am currently 53)

November 2022. First colonoscopy. Removed several polyps but one was there that needed to be surgically removed. Fast forward to December 2022 - 15 inches of my colon + removed. Three nights in hospital. Thankfully all benign. Both surgeon and colonoscopy doctor said precancerous.

December 2023 - another colonoscopy- more polyps removed. (benign)

Next one scheduled for December 2024.

Praying for you that all is benign!

My mom went through the same thing. She had polyps, and one that had to be surgically removed. They took 18 inches of her colon out. Hers were all benign, too. The one that was surgically removed was precancerous. Now that she is 83, her doctor doesn't recommend she have another colonoscopy, but she had one every year for about 5 years, then every two years. It does pay to have testings when recommended just so that anything can be caught early while it's still treatable. That's the way I am about my mammograms.

I don't fear or distrust doctors to the point that I'm willing to let my life possibly be on the line by not following their recommendations. Plus, I trust all of mine and Cary's doctors. We've been with them for a long time. Cary's neurologist offered us breakfast in his office the other morning at his visit. We declined but sat in there and had a good time just talking and catching up. Most of them have become good friends, instead of just being our doctors.

You are extremely fortunate, SB, and I hope that I can do as well. So far, I've seen two foreign doctors, neither of whom I could understand, so I won't be returning. I'm looking for an older female NP who at least takes women's healthcare seriously and can speak understandable English.

I don't mind attempting a social conversation with someone just off the boat from India but discussing treatments for health conditions is another kettle of fish.

If I still had private insurance I'd go to Ochsner in Slidell, but I don't, so I make do with the VA. When I first moved here I was attempting to establish myself with a medical facility in a large town about 50 miles away. I went for a check up and they wanted to do all kinds of tests and procedures, it pissed me off because they completely ignored my medical records from Ochsner. I told them to pound sand and went back to Ochsner and had the tests done there, Ochsner advised me to never to back to the place again, and I did not. Shortly after that I lost my private health insurance and got on at the VA. I'm greatful for the VA, but I don't completely trust them.

Yes, very fortunate. All of our doctor's, except my Retina Specialist, are older men. She's probably in her 40's. We haven't gotten to know her as well, yet, since I've only been seeing her a short time as compared to the others. All Americans, too.

Have we ever run into some "quacks" over the years? Absolutely, yes.

Oops. Been having craving that are unusual for me. Couldn't figure them out. Called a friend to brainstorm and her first response was UTI. Nope, no symptoms.

Apparently something with surgery or recovery from meant that I missed signs. My body gave me the definitive sign when I got home. So D'mannose pulled and started. Good chance that the bank apin and edema will go as the infection does.

When my Lupus flares up, and my bladder lining gets all inflamed, it's very painful. I use AZO Urinary Pain Relief in maximum strength. It works wonders for the pain, along with Aleve. I'm sure it will work for UTI's, too.

I haven't been feeling the pain or irritation. I think I put it down to the surgery and mentally blocked it. I figure I'll realize that it's healing as I feel better. I'll run a test at the end of next week. If it's showing there, I'll go to doc for a scrip.

I keep those testing strips on hand all the time, since Cary is prone to get UTI's without any symptoms. Whenever he starts feeling "off", he gets tested.

It's still raining today, and it's supposed to rain through tomorrow night. A few rumbles of thunder this morning. Much cooler today, too. 60 for our high and 40's tonight. It's supposed to be back in the 70's on Monday. I think what we're going through now is called, "Blackberry Winter" according to the old wives' tales. It supposed to be the last cold spell, before summer is here to stay. Our blackberries are in full bloom, so......There ya go.

Busy morning. Home fellowship is tomorrow, so I wanted to get the house cleaned, since I haven't been home all week in order to do much. I've got the laundry caught up, floors all done, and furniture all dusted. I spent a bit of extra time on the kitchen. I'm looking forward to hanging the laundry on the line outside, soon.

Remember, I told ya'll that Cary didn't want to have a garden this year. Well, he bought 12 tomato plants, when he had said that he only wanted 2, LOL. By the time May 1st gets here, he'll be ready to plant the whole garden in veggies! I hope so. I've got plenty of garden seed if that's the case. I bought 4 bell pepper plants, but we've also got seed going.

He's doing really good. He's outside splitting and stacking more firewood from the pile. By the time Fall gets here, he should have most of that huge pile cut, split, and stacked, if all goes well. He doesn't mind working in the heat of summer. I make sure he stays fully hydrated, too.

We're having meatloaf, tonight. I've already got it made up and ready to cook in the fridge for later. I've tweaked my recipe, so it doesn't fall apart anymore. I just added more breadcrumbs, more ketchup, and less water. Tastes better, too. I'll make stir fry veggies for myself and potatoes of some kind for Cary and garlic rolls. He now has sugar cookies for his dessert. Store bought. I'll use the left-over meatloaf for sandwiches and roasted potatoes for tomorrow night's meal.

We had a bit of snow last night, so I need to work inside today. Brunch (cause I slept in majorly!) is a French toast casserole thing. I made a rhubarb cake last week and it just wasn't anything to write home about. The pieces dried out quick and I still wanted to use them in some way, so I crumbled them up and added eggs, milk, and cinnamon to make a sloppy mess. It went in the fridge over night, then baked this morning. Not my best, but it got eaten.

I'm still putting things on Ebay, and selling them slowly. I don't list more than 250 items a month, so my payment to Ebay is minimal (up to 250 items/month are free to list, after that it's 35c. Ebay does take a processing fee, but since all these items were free to me, it's mostly pure profit). I am going to start a blog - the end goal is to make a little money, but we'll see how things turn out. Our plants are doing great in the house under lights, and tomorrow we should be able to use our little Harbor Freight greenhouse to put them in (will save money not using the lights that way). DH is anxious to get things in the ground. We had a neighbor plant a small patch of oats for us and I am excited about those. With the news about additional chemicals showing up in most oat products, I would love to be able to 'grow my own' with that too. We'll see - sometimes my experiments dont' have great results!

I need to do some baking today too. It's a perfect day for it!

Cooler and rainy here to day, and cooler tomorrow.

Getting the stuff I bought yesterday put away. All the canned foods go in the big mixed stack in the pantry room of newly acquired foods. When DH reorganized my pantry last winter, it badly needed help, it messed up my rotation. As I have room I put the new stuff on the bottom on the pantry shelves.

In my order yesterday I had some glass food storage containers to help me get rid of the plastic in the kitchen. And I ordered some more from amazon that will be here next week. I already had some, but I can't find all of it. I'll keep looking.

Ouch. Took a mega dose to start. Now I can feel it along the whole path, kidney to exit. Well, that's the "clean up" so the healing can start.

I got the ostrich ferns, wild yam, and two types of wild ginger planted before I ran out of soil.

On recommendation from a cousin, I stopped at Sherwin Williams. Turns out that there are now mold and water resistant paints now. I now have a gallon of it, matched to my old wall color. And I'll be glad I stopped during a sale because it is $89/gallon other wise. Worth it but ouch.

And got told which paint they have that will work for the steel drum planters. And I can buy it in safety red for the road facing side. And $40/gallon which is much more affordable than I expected.

Got the new heat element for the stove yesterday and swapped it out. It doesn't fit. We bought this stove about 20 years ago. It might be time to replace it. Looking on marketplace. Probably the washer too as the agitator splines are worn out. We have a fix that works ok for a week or less. Take agitator off, put duct tape on the bolt and replace. That helps for a few washings. The washer is only about 4 years old.
Got Scot bundled up and we went to grandsons birthday party yesterday. Most of my kids were there. It was good to get out.
Covered my pear tree for Frost last night. Didn't have anything big enough for peach tree.
I plan to try to get taters in this next week if able. Just planting small what we use.
Wash ups today for us. PT tomorrow for him. Going to try take it easy today though got to get gas for mower.

Watched late client's memorial service Saturday. Then family situation blew up yesterday. Grand wanted to make a cake and eat it hot with butter. Comfort food she remembered from being a kid. So we did. She and I ate half of it with butter then frosted it and helped DH eat some. Granted it was a thin cake - almost takes 2 boxes to make a normal 9x13 these days.

Car trunk is literally full of stuff for thrift store. Went thru a lot of stuff this week. Listed much of it on ebay with still more to list.

Put away several days worth of canning. Have already opened some of the beans. Trying to cook something out of the big freezer every day. Plenty left in it to can.
