There are not kittens in the room at this moment in time (about 12 noon in Ireland) but we are also awaiting kittens here; Pishi (Persian for Kitty) the teenage rescue Mommy is busy baking her kitten cupcakes...she says the oven is very full now and they can come out any time (lol) - this picture was taking several days ago and she's even bigger now..so we wait tick-tock..

I had a Seal Point Siamese Cat when growing up, he was great--and talkative. It was like having a dog; I was told he watched in the window to see me coming home from the school bus. Siamese: they're either wonderful, or psychotic.

Thanks for sharing that TP.

Sally is whats called a "Snowshoe" which is a relatively rare genetic cross between a Siamese and an American Short-hair. White feet and chest/stomach and darker body

....frankly, to me sally is beautiful...kinda the Marilyn Monroe of cats....LOL

BTW I was not a cat person before I met Sally....and she has converted me.

Didn't know this . . . we have one like that who ran away from his own home (2 doors away) and moved in with us. Four white socks and a white chest blaze! He was a culvert-kitty before his original home and they, too, just thought his mom "got around" . . .

Peacewithin, you should have a caption of "YOU CALL THAT GROVELING, PEASANT!" LOL

That looks like the Leona Helmsley version of a cat. Taxes are for little people.

I love the video of "Cats are jerks". My cats are exactly like that. It's what they do. Cats are predators first and foremost. They are territorial, not very social to either other cats, dogs or humans, they are agressive and because of all these traits: they are awesome. It's a good thing that most humans outweigh the average house cat by 10X to 20X+ because otherwise it would not not be a fair fight. OTOH, big cats in the wild (Lions, Tigers, Leopards, Mountain Lions, etc.) take no prisoners. I admire them too, but I stay away.

For fun, here's one of my favorite pics of my cat "Seven" who is named after the Star Trek - Voyager character the rescued Borg played by Jerri Ryan. I call it: "Seven helping on laundry day."

That Look! Lol!

I love the name Mimse, how does she like her water fountain? I've been thinking of getting one for my cats as they're driving me around the bend with they're new found joy of drinking running water out of the sinks. I can't go into any bathroom now without all of them running in and begging and vying for sink positions. V

Our polydactyl Maud 'Dib (for the brightest blue eyes ever)- or "Mo" as he is commonly known. Goofball thinks he's a dog. Comes when called, follows me around all day, plays fetch with paper balls, chews on everything he first encounters, growls over his food, he even wags his tail like a dog and has to be involved in everything I do. He supposedly has Himalayan in his mix and was the runt of the litter when we rescued him (he's always going to be kitten sized). Poor little thing was on death's door. Now he's just the coolest cat ever.

The black and white one is Oreo, obviously named by a child. He was found running wild at 3 months old and has an independent streak.
The gray tabby is Shadow, named by me because everyone else gave up. She can hide almost anywhere.
The tortie is Snickers, named by a child. The reasoning was she looks like the inside of a snickers candy bar...
Shadow and Snickers are sisters from the same litter. They keep the house interesting.

Vessie, she "loves" her water fountain. I found out early that she just would "not" drink out of a saucer. Just sat on the bathroom sink and waited...and waited..lol. Apparently wants running water only. I have called her Miss PrissyPaws on many occasions :)

This particular fountain is a Drinkwell Platinum. I have had it about 5 years. It has worked well. Needs to be taken apart and cleaned regularly which I do about once a month.

I see more Munchkin in him than anything else. My tortie is half munchkin.

What I want to know is how in the world do you keep her looking so nice? My Wedgie (Norwegian Forest Cat) molts in June/July each year and he's one hot mess for about two weeks. Right now he looks like a normal orange tabby cat. Come October he'll grow in his two under coats, complete with very furry paws, a huge mane, and ear tufts.

I had a terrible time a couple years ago especially in the summer. Her fur got knotted and I could not get them combed out. Had to get out the scissors.

Then I started with a teaspoon of coconut oil every day. She waits by my chair in the morning till I bring my coffee and her teaspoon of the oil. She will lick it off the spoon. Not all, but most.

I have not had knots in the fur for the past year. I comb every day also. I also believe it keeps her stool soft.

Anyways, methinks it must be the oil working on the knots for sure...lol.

Thankyou Peacewithin!!!

I was looking at the Drinkwell stainless steel water fountain on Amazon as well as the Platinum they have and was worried they would gnaw on the electrical cord. Maybe I'll wrap the cord in a corrugated plastic tubing like for my computer cords.

I have three huge bobble headed British Shorthairs and one 16 year old Norwegian Forest Cat Emily and they'd go absolutely Nutz if I set a fountain up for them that ran 24/7! V

Pretty good review of the [FONT=Verdana,Arial] Drinkwell stainless steel water fountain here.

Creedmoor, that Exactly the Drinkwell I've been thinking of getting!

My Brits are weird though as they like to stick their heads under the stream of water so it shoots off their heads and drink from that trickle. Truly weird! Lol!

So I'm split between getting the Drinkwell Platinum that Peacewithin has for her Mimse which would recreate that 'stream' effect or getting the Stainless Steel with the multiple spills.

Choices choices...

I Love looking at everyone's kitties and Bad Hand's Wally and Spikes pic! V

The reality is though we've been taught otherwise cats absolutely love water, and drinking from a fresh source is the bomb. Hell you should see Jr. my almost four year old labradoodle, go nuts when I pour fresh cold water into his water crock.

Gawd humans are ignorant... sigh... and this IS exactly what my pets think.

And Miss Calikat....she is our resident quilter. She also thinks we are extremely dirty OR that she is a dog as she absolutely must bathe us frequently. She is also the reason I am now an early riser.
