That sucker loves electrical wires, its chewed phone cords in half, it chewed into a directv wire, a lamp wire, etc. Fortunately, dh has been able to repair all but the directv wire we had to have some come out. Mainly because we didn't discover it the tech person did. To date, we have not caught it, DH has several live animal traps out.

It has also eaten into plastic bags. I want to keep the contents that are not near the chewed hole, including dried beans. It got into my stash of baby green lima beans, which are not easy to find. I'd like comments about this please.

When you live in the country, this is something you have to deal with unfortunately. We have several barn cats and one inside cat. They do a great job of keeping the mouse issue in check. However, I still put Tomcat bars in the basement and crawl space, and it takes care of the issue.

Neither here nor there.
Buy it a cage, put a house, wheel, food and water in 5he cage and welcome it home. Or in my case I made that western prairie pocket mouse, that is endangered, my bitch. She now lives at blank park zoo in Des Moines, cause she’s well... endangered. She’s cuter than a bugs ear though.

Our house was built in the 50's so is getting some age on her. When we bought it the previous owners didn't bother to clean so I came in to tracks over EVERYWHERE they had been. Took me 20 years to finally seal up every place they could get in but its rare to see one now. I mean little tiny cracks between baseboard and floor, crumbling plaster at the floor, you name it. We have three indoor cats now and one outdoor along with some ferals the neighbors feed. Two of the indoor cats are amazing mousers. The poor things don't stand a chance against them. Peanut butter does do the trick to catch them on a trap though.

only had one mouse in the house ever - not even sure where he came from or how he entered - fully prepped for the armageddon plague of rodents & bugs >>> but this one little MFer got around the various spring traps with no problems - the glue board got him immediately - went out and tripled my glue board prep supply

I once used a humane mouse trap to get one I had.
Yes, peanut butter does the trick quite well.

Judy, I put some cornmeal and baking soda in a very small Tupperware dish, by the feed cans. Little mouse hole there. It's been eaten down over the last week. Some droppings and no more mice there.

I would throw out anything that the mouse got into. You never know how much got contaminated while the mouse was eating.

Mousetraps baited with peanut butter always works for us, too. I keep them baited all over the house, especially in the pantry room, along with bar bait.

Interestingly enough glue boards do have a shelf life!

DH looked in the live trap near my recliner (ugh) and there it was. Last night the sounds it was making sounded like it was in my cookie sheet pan, banging all night. it was fighting to get out of the trap. And that sucker is fat, that's from getting into so many packages of beans. DH will kill it and dispose of it. Good. DH probably put peanut butter in the trap.

DH will reset the traps.

I've lived here for 48 years and only started getting mice a few years ago. We grated the back yard to be level with my mothers yard next door and I think we disrupted field mice doing it. Every time the weather gets colder, we start to get them for the last few years now. We put out traps, but still those buggers schieve me!

I never had mice around here until I got my old camper moved over here where it had been for a few years. The house where it was near was rat infested. That's when I had issues with them getting into my school bus that I use for storage.

Then DH came along with his rat poison and got a big handle on them. Might not have had a problem with them if I hadn't moved that camper here. I used it for storage for a couple of years and then DH made a chicken house out of it. I hate mice.

We get them spring and fall. I buy glue traps in bulk and place them where I know the buggers like to come in at. This past spring, for the first time in a long time, there was only one incursion and the traps got them all. But then, I took in a cat from a family member that passed unexpectedly. It appears that said cat is a hunter cat. Although she looks and acts like a pampered princess sometimes.

Lord the mice have been awful this year. Just went in pantry, found a 1lb block of yeast I forgot about. Its gone. I'll have to get more as only thing sold out here is little packs. Maybe the mice that ate it will bloat up and be done with.
