The news story said the total downtown damage was now $24 million, but they added $6 million in PPD overtime pay, and $5 million in damage to government property. I don't know if that is a gross figure, Federal, State, County and City property. The price tags on the statues, most of which just had an upgrade, cleaning, recast some, etc is spendy. The ELK statue had $100,000 in it alone.

I wonder if the Portland Chamber of Commerce goes to a convention and tries to drum up some convention business for Portland, whether he will get his ass kicked, or just laughed out of the room.

2000 plus business in the total business group and I wonder how many hundreds of them will NEVER REOPEN?

You can be sure the state welfare checks will go out on time. Delivery will be a problem, except for those with direct deposit.
Having humans on the dole is NOT assurance of non-violence, however. In fact it might be an active attraction. In fact it might be part of the game-plan. Get humans reliant, dissatisfied, and critical of entrepreneurship, have them drive out the middle class leaving the reliant to be relied upon to provide justification for government's existence, then (hopefully) the reliant don't turn on YOU.

I predict a strong police force going forward once the wagon is fully loaded with indigent.

IRAQ—High-ranking officials in the U.S. Military have been watching Portland closely in recent weeks, keeping a keen eye on anti-fascist vigilante group, Antifa. "These great Americans are really passionate about fighting fascism. It's inspiring to see," said one general. The decision was made to gather up as many Antifa members as possible into a large plane and fly them into the Middle East to a territory where ISIS still held some power.

While it is true that the Islamic terror group ISIS has largely been dispersed throughout the Middle East, pockets remain and an underground network continues to threaten a comeback. At least, until now.

"With Antifa walking the streets of these war-torn villages, we're pretty sure ISIS won't be coming back," said Captain Harvey Kittle, one of those who headed up sending Antifa on the mission. Asked if they had any fear that the terror groups in the Middle East might kill them on sight, AntiFa leader Thistle Matrix Harlequin said, "we have anti-Trump signs. As soon as we flash those, they'll realize we're not the bad type of Americans and will immediately shower us with praise and want to touch our faces."

Harlequin's partner, Moonshade Wolflust said he doesn't want to fight ISIS, only learn their secrets. "The way I see it, ISIS is doing what we're trying to do in Portland, only we use more vegan coconut milkshakes and stuff."

The Antifa group was released into a hostile Iraq territory last Wednesday and have not been heard from since.

Anyway, he didn't hit any body but they brought out the media, went the whole gestapo regime etc. Next, the story interviewed the police chief who basically said ppd can't respond.
Good thing I just bought 100 rounds of 38 special ammo and 5 more magpul AR-15 30 round.
Oh, the hate crkme made the news 2 white guys one black guy total bs from the tweet likely a drug deal gone bad in lents a real crappy area.

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) - Shots were fired from a car in the middle of protesters in downtown Portland.
Police said the driver turned onto Southwest Main Street in the area of a crowd during a demonstration downtown at 1:15 a.m. Thursday. The driver then attempted to turn around, going the wrong direction.
Protesters and the people in the vehicle began to “engage” with each other, according to investigators, and several shots were fired from the vehicle.

The car then left the scene.
Police said the shots were fired into the air and not directly at any people. There were no reports of injuries.


Officers in the area attempted to locate the vehicle, but it was not found.

The Portland Police Bureau stated that, “Due to the demonstration, officers were unable to canvass the area for evidence until later. No evidence was recovered from the scene.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the non-emergency police line at 503-823-3333. A description of the car was not released.

Anyone who sees a gun crime in progress should call 911.

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) - Police are investigating an assault with a baseball bat against a Black man in southeast Portland as a possible bias crime.

Officers responded to the 9400 block of Southeast Mitchell Street at 11:37 a.m. July 3. Details about the investigation were released by the Portland Police Bureau on Thursday.

The victim told officers he had been assaulted by two men with a baseball bat.

“The victim gave various accounts as to what led to the assault,” according to the Portland Police Bureau. No further details were released about those accounts.

Police said they did not locate the suspects at the time of the incident.

The victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury to his arm, according to police.

A witness reported to police that a “derogatory term” was used by a suspect toward the victim, according to PPB.

Police said the victim is a Black man and the suspects were described as white men.

“Investigators are looking into reports of whether bias played a role in the assault,” according to PPB.

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV)- Police are investigating a shooting that struck a car carrying a mother and four children in Southeast Portland Wednesday.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 13400 block of Southeast Harold Street just before 9:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found over 25 bullet casings on the street and two cars hit by gunfire.

A 10-year-old girl suffered a non-life-threatening injury near her eye when the glass from the car she was in shattered from a stray bullet, officers said. The driver, the girl's mother had a bullet miss the back of her head.

Officers said there were also three other children in the car ages, 11, nine and seven were not injured. It does not appear that anyone in the car was associated with the shooting.

Police say it is an active investigation and are asking for anyone with information about the shooting to call the non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A federal officer was struck in the head and shoulder with a hammer during an altercation in Friday night’s Downtown Portland protest, according to a tweet from the Portland Police Bureau.

Federal Officers reporting a subject was breaking down a door of the Federal Courthouse with a hammer creating a hole in the door. Officers came out and one was deliberately struck in the head and shoulder with the hammer. An arrest was made. Pepper spray and CS gas deployed.


Police said the incident began after federal officers guarding the Federal Courthouse reported protesters attempting to break down a door into the building with the hammer.

PPB also reported having apprehended to suspects accused of pointing lasers into the eyes of federal officers.

The reported criminal activity follows a largely peaceful day of protesting in the greater Portland area. Earlier in the evening, a few hundred people gathered at Roosevelt High School for a march through the St. Johns neighborhood.

Details on the arrests from the 42nd straight night of protests have not been released yet.

Er... that describes the reason for probably 99% of the errors these days. I dunno how you can say that's not a typo! Sort of by definition... a typo is hitting the wrong key by mistake (as opposed to misspellings and other errors of knowledge)

Better get used to it... I doubt tablet or phone keyboards are going to get much better!

I was sitting on a park bench at about 5pm yesterday within feet of where this happened. ANTIFA. BLM has started to take over the park area there. They put up a shelter tent directly over from the nw corner of the federal court house.
I got my Multnomah County Concealed Handgun Carry permit in the mail yesterday so I was sitting there watching their BLM shit with a loaded snub nosed 38 Special in my pack. Looks like I will have to move out of the park since it is now a defacto "occupied protest zone" now. The loaded 38 makes a difference. I will start to carry my 357 Magnum also.
Some people did a wedding there earlier with all the BLM types running around.
This must be what Berlin felt like the summer before Hitler took over in 1933. This mixture of farce, chaos, brutal violence, and desperate attempts at normal life. Portland is finished. Downtown will never be the same. The walled up stores are now a permanent feature of life. Doomer Doug will make it just fine.

And if you ever have to shoot, life as you know it is over.

Yup. Downtown Rochester got destroyed 10-15 years ago now. No stores, no shopping, lots of empty spaces. Disgusting. The downtown here in St. Pete isn't like a regular downtown either, but it's not destroyed. People live there. I can get anything I need all along 4th Street North, or go to Target.

It’s a gray area. But - Doug has expressed a tightly-reined-in willingness to use deadly force. That’s not good, both from a legal as well as self-control PoV. It’s critical that a person who is allowed to carry NEVER provoke or participate in a verbal or physical altercation. Right now I am listening to David Suchet, Poiroit, read Isaiah on my cell phone. I just finished Taylor Anderson's final Destroyerman book last week. I am now reading David Weber's final book in the Safehold series, named aptly, "Through Fiery Trials." :lkick: I move in the spirit now. At 5 pm yesterday I was within 3 hours and 100 feet of where this shit went down. I have been reading in that SAME PARK for DECADES. SCREW THEM.
