Prep Genrl Walgreens, and shopping sales

Yesterday I went to town to check out what I could save. I had a couple of coupons saved to my Walgreens card (how convenient), I got a bottle of Tide detergent that has a regular price at Walmart for $5.24, I got it for $3.99 with the coupon and card, very nice price. I spent 12 and change and saved almost $10. I don't buy anything unless its something I use and only if its the cheapest I can find.

I did however, buy two larger bottles at Walmart for a good price, maybe they are closing this particular type out. I got 24 rolls packages of generic 1000 sheet toilet paper for $12 something. I got two packages. DH calls it John Wayne toilet paper, but I've been using this for years and it works for me, especially since I'm paying for it.

I also got three good size bottles Palmolive Oxy dish soap, seems to work just as well as dawn and its cheaper.

Earlier in the week I's gone to Goodwill and got 6 blouse for 1/2 price and yesterday I found 7 at half price. The two shopping trips together might have gotten me one nice blouse at Dillards on sale. I rarely shop retail for clothes anymore except for bras, underpants and maybe shoes.

I have to go to town (30 miles each way) in the next couple of days for an appointment. I would not have gone yesterday if I had not let myself run out of laundry detergent.

I loved it when Walgreens had their monthly rebate program. I still shop there rarely when they have really good deals.

Our Rite Aid is supposed to be turning over to a Walgreens. I hope the sales are better with them than those at Rite Aid. I hardly ever go there any more since they changed their Wellness card over to Plenti, except for my prescription.

Walgreen's sales and deals are not nearly as good as they were a few years ago; that said, I will still pop in if I find a decent deal. I stopped by after work tonight and picked up two 24 ct Advil children's tablets @ $4.99 each; used 2 - $3/1 coupons; so paid $1.99 each. I also picked up hair bands for 99 cents/pkg for work, and some highlighters for the school supply box at granddaughter's Jr High for 79 cents/pkg.
