VoorTrekker went to Aldi's, stop me if you've heard this one before...I spent the night in a hotel because the big rig was at the dealership shop for repairs. After a breakfast at IHOP I went to Aldi's just to see...

Deutche Kuche soups, 28 oz. cans for $2.09, nice variety and no pork.
Bear Creek rip off brand of dry soup packets serves 8 for $2.49, a jar of dry roasted peanuts 28 oz. (?) $1.75,
peannybutt crackers six pack $0.79, generique chicken noodle soup 18.6 oz. for $1.42 per can, Schogetten chocolate bars 3.5 oz. $1.59, spices $0.95. Total $21.89 for some contingency grubb.

What's your good shopping experience? Oh, I didn't buy the canned and dried beans and rice but they did have the corned beef for $3 a can you know, the stuff that looks like dog food for people.

Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Love Aldi, we wouldn't be eating as good as we are if it wasn't for Aldi! Ours here locally, central Iowa, always has very nice produce.

the "Aldi Experience" differs per area of the country and even per individual store - my new neighbor was an assistant store manager when he moved in - lots of inside tidbits >> constant pressure on the lower rung managers to take on a manager's job in the lower economic area stores - they can't keep employees much less management - just a single day as a fill-in is enough for a suicide watch - it shows in these stores

In my area of Ohio , our Aldi has the best fresh steelhead trout and salmon . I cook it on the grill, and hubby likes it even better than steak, which is rather shocking... he's always been a steak guy until I started buying this fish.

Aldi is a godsend for me, I feed a family of 4. Very good quality.

The local Aldi has a good selection of fruit and veggies that outclass and are more economical than even WM, a selection of whole milk yogurt that I can't find at any other grocery stores in my usual range (say a 30 mile radius from my home), better dairy products with much better prices, an excellent selection of cheeses, cereals that the grandsons much prefer at a price much lower than national brands, and the usual fridge stockers - mayo, ketchup, jellies I don't make myself, salad dressings, peanut butter (their jar lids fit pint jars for storage use), staple pantry items, etc... I like their fall frozen veggie mixes, and also use their regular frozen veggie mixes in the soups that Hubby carries in his lunches. It is probably my main grocery store, though I do cherry pick sales at other stores. I don't buy fresh meat there other than chicken thighs to cook for the cats, but daughter does. We have an excellent local store for meat - lovely window into the cold room where you can watch them cut up the sides, etc...

Don’t let the Piss Ants get you down…
I’ve never been in an Aldi. There’s one just down the road which I’ll have to try.

Sounds like a good place to add to my store rotations.

Today will be the second time I've been in our local Aldi's, since the store opened. The first time I went, a few months after it opened, the store was trashy. The produce had mold growing on it, and the store looked ransacked. I never went back. DS told me that the store wasn't like that now, so I've decided to go back to check it out. I'm hoping I won't be disappointed this time. I've read and heard so many good things about Aldi's that I'm looking forward to the trip later today.

Candies and chocolate from Europe. Great at Easter. Used to have good seasonal non food items in middle of store. I do not live near Aldis but sometimes visit when travelling.
