Yes. My friend who was diagnosed with both flu/Covid last summer even had GI coexistence infection. Was hospitalized for a week or so.

Sure. All ya REALLY need is a dozen or so pigs in a pen, with a few of them positive for influenza and a few positive for COVID. Leave them alone for a while and nature takes its curse (Pigs--Gods HIGHLY effective Level IV Biolab)
It's called recombination. Only in this case they really don't have to recombine, just dual infect.

Read the quote. They said it is the same disease. They did not say that it was the same virus. Flu viruses are different strains also.

I was discussing this issue with several friends earlier in a brief Zoom gathering.
I think we need to stop worrying about what illness we have and focus more on what symptoms are
present and what to watch for. Most of us adults have been successfully treating our own colds and flu
without fanfare for many years.
One really good tip: start a "chart" (notes) for yourself or anyone you are caring for. Keep it neat and professional-looking in case you have to share it with a medical provider. Make a graph of the temperatures if it looks like they are spiking. If there is a major problem developing, neat notes
will show a healthcare provider exactly what has been happening and may result in better treatment.

Depending on the variant, co-morbidity, initial treatment, etc, etc,. And seeing as there are so many variables, you as a PA should be treating each patient differently depending on their medical history and situation. This top down, one size fits all, police state policy is not good medicine.
I Do and you are right, it's not. But that's not my experience where I am.

It's what I've been doing, since Wednesday, when we realized we had the virus. I'm keeping a check on our BP, O2 saturations, temps, and any other changes I notice with Cary or myself. We have no plans to see a doctor, unless it's warranted. So far, we're managing ok, but it's some really nasty stuff.

We met briefly because there is so much illness going on. It's been several years since we've seen so many problems. The last time was winter of either 2014 or 2015. We couldn't narrow it down. It seemed like everyone was getting that flu-going-into-a-cold/bronchitis combination that was requiring a Z-Pak in some cases, really nasty stuff! People died from that, too, but they were either in their 80s or recovering from cancer.
I don't remember children or formerly healthy people dying from it.

And add on that everyone's immune system has been obliterated these last 2 years with face diapers and lockdowns everyone is at risk for a severe flu season. DH got the stomach virus last week. He NEVER catches anything. The kids and grandkids got it worse.
I got not a symptom. The only one who refused a mask all this time.

Jonas, please actually look at the difference between coronaviri and influenza viri since they are VERY different viri. Heck they aren't on the same branch of the Kingdom/Phylum tree. The cold viri ARE either Corona viri or rhino viri (similar branches, with similar symptoms, and which get treated reasonably similarly).

As another member and myself mentioned privately to each other; those of you not going through this illness or caring for someone with it, the disbelief of its existence and the making fun, is saddening to us.
I wasn’t going to say anything regarding our thoughts, but we both hope and pray none of you contract it.
