MOM BREAKS DOWN IN COURT AFTER CRUISE ARREST
Nathalie Belizaire, 29, appeared before Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer following her arrest after returning from a Carnival cruise.
Police say Belizaire left her four children home without adult supervision while she traveled to the Bahamas. The children included a 2-month-old baby and a 2-year-old. Officers found all four children together inside a bathroom after the infant’s father became concerned and called 911.
During the hearing, Belizaire became emotional and began crying as the allegations were discussed.
Judge Glazer appeared stunned while reviewing the case, telling the courtroom:
“You cannot make this up.”
The judge also pointed out just how young the baby was and expressed relief that the children were found safe.
Belizaire’s attorney told the court that she denies the allegations.
The judge set bond at $2,500 on each of the four counts, for a total of $10,000, and ordered Belizaire to have no contact with the children unless permitted through dependency court.
The four children were reported safe and placed in foster care while the case moves forward.
