Woman shot and killed by police after fatally stabbing woman, injuring man in Times Square: NYPD​

MIDTOWN (WABC) -- A female stabbing victim and the woman who was shot by police on Monday afternoon in Times Square have died from their injuries, police sources told ABC News.

A male victim, who was also stabbed by the female suspect, is in critical condition, police said.

Police said a woman who appeared to be emotionally disturbed was threatening people with two knives and stabbed the man and woman near 42nd and Seventh Avenue around 4:26 p.m.

Then the woman fled north toward the NYPD substation where police confronted her, police said.

Police say the woman refused to put the knives down when police approached her.

Police fired shots at 4:27 p.m. striking the female suspect, police said.

The incident was initially reported as a knifepoint robbery but police now believe the emotionally disturbed person had no clear motive, police said.

Police are closing traffic from West 42nd street to West 47th Street as the investigation continues.

An Atlanta couple has been arrested and charged in Florida on numerous charges of child abuse and neglect for allegedly keeping four children confined in the cab of a tractor-trailer for years, as they traveled throughout the state.


Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, along with other law enforcement officials, discussed the case and the arrests during a news conference on Tuesday.




Officials detailed years of alleged abuse of the children, including lack of food, hygiene, schooling, and medical care, among others.


Official: 4 children confined to, abused in tractor-trailer​


What we know:


Keisha Epps, 51, and Tamra Stewart, 37, are accused of abusing the children—two boys and two girls—they kept in a tractor-trailer Epps drove on routes between Miami, Orlando, and Atlanta for six years, Uthmeier said.


Uthmeier said the girls were sexually abused by Stewart, and the boys, who witnessed the abuse, were physically beaten when they confronted Stewart or reported the abuse to Epps.


"The evidence shows that the truck would at times hit a truck station where the adults would go to the restroom, they might take a shower, but they would leave these kids locked in this rolling dungeon," Uthmeier said.


The children were forced to share a single bunk inside the cab and denied access to food, showers, schooling, and medical care, the Attorney General's Office said. Two of the children were found with untreated burns that left serious scarring.


The children were between the ages of five and nine when the abuse started, officials said.


According to the Florida Attorney General's Office, Stewart admitted to three sexual batteries against one of the girls, including an incident in Orlando.


What they're saying:


"These children were trapped in a rolling prison and abused by the adults who were supposed to protect them. Florida has zero tolerance for anyone who preys on children. We will seek the maximum punishment under the law," Uthmeier said in a statement.


Suspects face multiple charges, additional charges possible​

Stewart: two counts of sexual battery, two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12, two counts of battery of a child, two counts of child neglect without great bodily and two counts of child neglect causing permanent disfigurement.


Epps: two counts of sexual battery, two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12, two counts of child neglect without great bodily and two counts of child neglect causing permanent disfigurement and four counts of failing to report child abuse.


Officials said the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be filed in the case.

Nora Rowland hadn't heard from her father for a while, so she traveled from her home in Baltimore, MD, to the home she purchased for him in South Carolina and had a caretaker hired to care for him there.

"Caregiver" Sarah Small, in South Carolina "caring" for the father of Nora Rowland, put the father in a nursing home 2 weeks after being hired. He died two months later, and even before he died she began moving all his furniture out and hers in. She'd gotten him to sign a "deed" giving her the $350K+ house to her for $5.00. The daughter can be heard in the video saying "This is MY house!"--hopefully she has deeds proving this. The "caretaker" had also bought a car already with the father's money and "gone on a shopping spree" per the daughter Nora.

It was NORA who was initially arrested--for trespassing (in her OWN house!) before the charges were dropped. She's now going to court to try to get her house / her father's money back.

Police have PRESSED NO CHARGES against Sarah Small, pictured below yelling at Nora when she came to see her father:
