A 17-year-old black male is charged with m*rdering two white victims in Gonzales, Louisiana, and almost no one in the national media is talking about it.

Joseph Appiah faces two counts of first-degree m*rder in the deaths of Tegan Daigle, 17, and Jared Downey, 21.

Police responding to gunfire found both victims de*d near Downey’s home on East Caldwell Street.

Witnesses and surveillance showed a black BMW at the scene that left shortly after the shooting. Investigators say illegal drug activity played a role and have described the attack as appearing to be an ambush or robbery-style k*lling.

Appiah was also charged with criminal conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute, multiple counts of aggravated as$ault with a firearm, and related firearms offenses.

Two additional persons of interest remain under investigation.

Two young white lives ended in a street shooting. A black juvenile is in custody on the top charges. The story has received almost no national coverage.

When the races are reversed the cameras show up. When they are not, the silence is loud.

Definite scumbag. Couple of thoughts, though. I want to be careful because I don't want to fall into the victim-blaming trap. She actually did well with her actions post-attack. Yet, her lack of situational awareness here almost cost her life. She is very fortunate that the perp sliced her neck in the wrong spot. Had he cut her carotid artery, she was toast. You can see from the photo of her neck's ten stitches that his aim was not very good. That, and the fact that she fought afterward, is why she is still alive.

Here is the main issue from a situational awareness standpoint. She said when she asked the guy a question, something seemed very off, yet she turned her back to him to walk away. :bhd:

I personally wouldn't turn my back to a 4'2" girl scout offering me a box of cookies in that particular location.

PHILADELPHIA -- The suspect accused of terrorizing Philadelphia residents while wearing a creepy mask has been arrested in Nevada, authorities announced Tuesday.

Zymire Hughes, 22, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force at about 8 p.m. in Las Vegas, according to police. He is being held at the Clark County Detention Center pending extradition to Pennsylvania.

Investigators say Hughes chased and harassed people in Center City during the early morning hours of Aug. 15. Police believe he may have been motivated by a desire for social media attention.

Philadelphia Police Capt. Jason Smith said Hughes encountered as many as 15 or 16 people that morning.

In several incidents, police said Hughes approached victims while wearing what authorities described as a "distinctive Chucky doll-style Halloween mask."


The first reported encounter occurred around 5:01 a.m. near 10th and Chestnut streets.

Police said the incidents culminated near City Hall and SEPTA's Suburban Station shortly before 6 a.m.

According to investigators, Hughes approached a woman who was jogging near City Hall and asked her, "Are you ready to die?"

Police said the woman ran away screaming for help and seriously injured her leg while trying to escape.

"It's going to require extensive medical treatment, from what I understand, in order to treat the injuries that she has sustained," Smith said last week.

Surveillance video shows Hughes entering Suburban Station around 5:35 a.m., where SEPTA police reportedly asked him to remove the mask. Investigators said he attempted to conceal his identity while moving through the station.

Police said Hughes continued trying to frighten people before evading officers. Authorities believe he boarded a Route 33 bus at about 5:59 a.m. and traveled to the area of 23rd and Venango streets, where he reportedly lives.

Officials said Hughes also has ties to California and Las Vegas because of employment.

Police have said Hughes is wanted on charges including terroristic threats, harassment, simple assault and intimidation.

Maybe you don't care what the rules and laws are, but I do.

I may, or may not, be a convicted felon. I still have never received all of the court papers in my one time before a court, in my 67 years on this planet. I also never received a trial summons, which appears to be a necessity for a lawful trial. Therefore, I have no idea if a genuine trial actually took place, and continue to not know if I'm actually a convicted felon.

The last time I inquired at this courthouse, a clerk told me that they could find no evidence of me ever being there for a trial. From what I've read, there is supposed to be a permanent record of all trials kept at the courthouse where a trial took place. Some day, maybe I'll contact the clerk magistrate about it, if I think it will be somehow important in my day to day life. I also may try a CORI background check on myself. But even there, people can face charges if the purpose does not align with the state's guidelines.

I'm not going to carry a gun, because there would be a chance that I could be sent to jail, or possibly prison, for that.

Everyone certainly does.

I could go to jail, or possibly prison, just for attempting to purchase a firearm. I'll take my chances of being free and unarmed (I've never been accosted by anyone in my 67 year, here), than being raped in prison.

So, the way I figure it, I really don't have a choice when it comes to being legally armed. It's not possible, in my case.

Let’s check in on the Baltimore community.

Last weekend they held a sneaker-store grand opening with a $10,000+ back-to-school giveaway.

Free clothes.

Free shoes.

Free School supplies

For the kids.

Fights immediately broke out among the blacks and the event turned into a smash and grab riot.

The usual suspects swinging.

The caption says “we can’t have sh*t, all I needed was a pair of shoes.”

They were given the shoes.

They fought over them anyway.

There’s no fixing this.
