As a kid I was required to pick strawberries and what we called blackcaps.
And said earnings went toward the purchase of my next year's school clothes.

I’m planning to start some white alpine strawberries (fragaria vesca).

Many people are allergic to red strawberries due to the protein that makes them red. Also, supposedly animals are less likely to eat white strawberries because they wait for them to turn red.

I noticed that my vendor threw in some free red kitten spinach seeds. They are good companion plants.

There's a guy on youtube that spray paints rocks that are the size of strawberries the color red and then puts them in the strawberry patch. Supposed to fool the animals so they stay away from the real thing.
