A video out of South Dakota shows a man being dragged by police out of a school board meeting because he is not wearing a mask.

During a discussion about the school district’s mask mandate, local resident Reed Bender refused to wear a mask after being ordered to do so by Superintendent Joe Graves, who subsequently called the police.

Officers attempted to convince Bender to put on a mask but he refused, telling them, “You’re gonna have to drag me out, guys.”

“This is what you are doing, you’re sowing discord within our communities at every level, it’s disgusting,” Bender tells the school board members.

Bender repeats his assertion that the cops will have to drag him out while another attendee comments, “This is completely absurd…this is an embarrassment to our school.”

The cops then try to drag the man out of the library as he puts up resistance.

One of the officers then grabs his taser, to which Bender responds, “You will have to tase me in front of all these people.”

“This is insane,” another attendee comments as Bender is removed from the room.

“Never in my entire career as a superintendent have I had that happen before,” Superintendent Graves said. “The board said there is a masking mandate and everyone in the school building must wear a mask. We gave the gentleman fair warning of that and offered him a mask. He refused, so the board had to enforce the mandate.”

Police say that Bender hasn’t yet been charged with anything but they are still investigating the case.

But they didn't throw the woman filming that was wearing her mask on her chin?

I haven't seen all the KARENS that inhabit libraries and school boards, but I don't dare go in there, I know what it's gonna be like. Giant arrows on their carpet, 50 downtown bums stinking up the entrance in the cushy chairs, sucking up the free wi fi downloading kiddie porn.....

Yeah, and if BLM came in chanting, and started vandalizing and terrorizing the people with their fists up, no masks, it would be a-ok.

Take the police department out and give them a good old fashion, paddling with a flat steel paddle?

It’s all about power. Some dumb ass has some power in the town and also happens to be on the school board. He has a minion who happens to be a cop and said minion has either a power rush from school board member OR there is a criminal connection between them. So since said minion (and school board boss) can’t have power anywhere else they use it on the town they happen to control right now.

Me? I’d be looking right hard for their meth factory.

Meanwhile the town has been fooled into thinking these be fiiiine upstanding people. Look again. I’d be willing to bet they are narcissistic liars of the highest degree.

And I agree, there was no crime committed. That’s the part they cannot figure out.

Where’s their governor ?

Our governor has let the decisions for covid response rest in the hands of the local entities/government. Just because nationally it sounds like SD had no response doesn't mean we haven't put measures into place.

Every healthcare facility follows CDC/CMS requirements.
Each school district has developed their own covid plans.
Businesses vary - some require masks and others don't care.
Businesses that are licensed by the state health department have their own requirements.
Insurance companies have also required some businesses to require masks.

This school board has decided that masks and social distancing will be required. This attendee chose not to comply and the police removed him. I highly doubt he was charged as no law was broken (unless something like disturbing the peace, but he didn't seem to fuss too much). Our covid numbers are high (I guess) but our hospitalizations are down.

Lots of asymptomatic positives. The only highly symptomatic person I know with covid lives in Nebraska and he tested negative! One of my friends had GI symptoms for one day and tested positive. I've been tested 4 times - negative. Can't wait for this madness to be done.

Our unemployment rate is down to 4.8%. I don't know how the other states are faring. Except for a few masked folks here and there, life is pretty normal here.

Originally.......it was the purpose of the federal government to protect the rights of the people from state level tyrants.
It was the purpose of the state governments to protect the rights of the people from local level tyrants.

Originally, it was the purpose of the sheriffs to protect the rights of the people from ALL level of tyrants.

My, how the times have changed, and the people just go along to get along, as though nothing is wrong.

Normalcy bias......the quiet killer.

That was the governor's first mistake: letting local entities handle the covid response. You just know some people get into local government for the power and/or prestige and left to their own devices, their power quickly rises to the surface. It's the "don't do what I do, do what I say" principle. A rebel is quickly put down to illustrate that principle.

Do you think it's different for people in the higher up positions? Haha! At least at the local level, we have a chance of making changes. Local politicians have to live in the towns and areas they represent while the higher ups have some distance from their constituents, as is well represented in Washington DC. I'm not going to bump into the governor or my senators downtown at the bakery, but I certainly will often see my mayor, the school board president and our state reps.

Our governor is one of the few that didn't overreach her powers.

The cops barely show up to riots and shootings but they show up for this bullshit. WTF
And these same cops, when given orders to go house to house, kick doors down, shoot puppies, & confiscate citizens firearms, will get a woody, and scream yes sir/mam, and will charge out.

And these are the kind we are supposed to support ???

I DON'T THINK SO !!!

The good cops need to do a serious internal house cleaning BEFORE TSHTF !!!!!!

He got what he wanted. That was his plan, to get dragged out so he could make his point. Hope he is happy now. He has had his 15 minutes of fame.

I think one of the things bothering people is that, when leftist riot and burn, nothing happens. But if conservative break even the most questionable rule, off to the gallows with them. And let's not forget how the Kenosha Kid sits in jail with the leftists are planning their looting and burning tonight. Or the crimes Demoncrats have committed, but a SWAT team is set out to arrest Roger Stone.

When there isn't equal application of the law, there is no just law, just tyranny.

Sigh. What ARE you doing here? Twatter banned? Just not quite enough cray cray to fit in with the real marxists so you decided to come try your hand at trolling here?
You do seem to have the intellect of a pussy hat wearing, leftist; Incapable of reading comprehension or thoughts deeper than a puddle of ant spit.
