It's really not fair to all other retailers that were shut down, to allow Wal-Mart to sell items they are forbidden to. They grocery exemption is for groceries. We can't shut down Mary's yarn shop and allow Wal-Mart to sell yarn!!

There’s a photo going around on FB of a sign in front of the seed rack stating that Vermont was ordering no sales of this item (seeds). Can anyone verify if that’s true?

So is Vermont just going to sit there and take it? Probably so.
Our side has ZERO fight in them and that’s why Liberals get practically everything they want as they just do it.
Pathetic.

That became obvious with those who wouldn't even join the real patriots and stop watching NFL football games ( which was under the complete control of the anti American liberals).

Was going to quarantine down by the Hudson River in hopes of landing a Striped Bass as the season started here yesterday. Went to wally world very cautiously for some specific tackle I may have needed. Get to the fishing section and here is some guy who definitely didn't look local touching every damn piece of tackle and lure on the shelves. Standing 2ft from him another couple doing the same. Guess I don't need it that bad. Picked up a couple mason jars and got out of there.

Here in the Hudson Valley there are a lot of city folk who have second homes up here. They may come a few times a year during holidays or summer Vacation to visit. I think they have all come up at once to escape the city. Some of the people around here are not too happy about it. Kind of like a Twilight Zone episode where all the neighbors with pitchforks gather in front of an innocent persons house because of their own insecurities or fear.

I read the story where some neighbors cut down a tree to make sure someone stayed quarantined. Reports like this are scary and will probably become worse and more often as this progresses. People are getting beat up for wearing masks.

The human with his sophisticated brain can be such a fragile creature at times.

I think this order was dumb but some of you seem to think that everyone has the right to bring their snot-nosed brats into a store for entertainment at will in the middle of a pandemic and everyone who thinks that is a suboptimal idea are "sheep" .

Newsflash - those store workers need the jobs, have to be there, and may be at risk or have family members at risk. Thse stupid and selfish people using the store as a Gymboree are raising that risk to these essential workers and that is simply not right.

If people would have exercised a minimum of self control, gone in , gotten what they needed, and gotten out without turning the toy section of Walmart into a trip to Disneyland then none of these orders would even have been made.

But no, our society is too entitled and selfish and entertainment-needy to do that - and then as soon as the powers that be crack down on the behavior will start mass screeching of "MUH FREEDUMB" .

With freedom also comes responsibility. If you refuse to exercise the latter then you can expect to lose the former, under our current system.

No one gives a damn about grocery store workers right now. All people care about is why grocery stores are out of TP and hand sanitizer.

Makes me sick

ARE Y'ALL BEGINNING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE CORONAPANIC IS ALL ABOUT YET? BIG GOVERNEMENT!!!

It was a neat sleight of hand for Trump to pass it off to the governors, though, wasn't it?
People will cheer for dictatorship, as long as "their" guy is dictator.

I agree, but I don't think shampoo/soap falls in the beauty category. It's usually classified as "health or personal care" and I doubt that would be on the list. I think they mean stuff like cosmetics and facial creams, etc

My area has curbside pickup for several stores, including Walmart. It is really hard to get a time slot for WM. Every time I check, it says no slots available at all. Yesterday I was able to do an order for another grocery store (Wed) and the earliest pickup date was Mon (5 days later) so who knows if any of my items will be in stock by the time they fill the order.
It does according to the OP, which admittedly could be wrong.

You're right. I know people who are using Walmart as a tourist attraction. They go there, out of boredom, just to see what all is still out of stock, just to see what's going on. Not because they need anything essential. You put all those who are using Walmart as a tourist attraction together with those who are using it as a playground, and what you have is a mess that not only endangers those who work there, but those who are elderly and at high risk, those who still have to shop for groceries.

Guys and gals, this was posted in one of my Facebook groups, and there were a heck of a lot of "here too" comments. One gal said she went into her Walmart and things were normal, but by the time she left they had done this and blocked off everything but grocery.

One never knows when one's TV will kark....... no TV for Vermonters!! That will promote violence if not solved quickly.

Sneeze shields in the store and big boxes piled in front of the cashiers so you have to lean in to put your stuff on the counter.....that means you are now standing only 2 feet from the customer in the next line.

They didn't think that one out.

Our local grocery store only has every other register open so as to keep customers away from the register in the next aisle over. Also, only one customer allowed in each register aisle at a time so as to force social distancing. It all seems logical and people seem to accept it.

The local CVS pharmacy has put a folding table in front of the counter so as to force more distance between customers and staff, and also with forced spacing for those waiting their turn.

People can say what they want but even with all of the folks from NY/NJ/CT that fled up here to their 2nd homes, thus far our #'s of infected have stayed low due to the State (Republican Governor) acting early and in a reasonably thorough manner.

I am against the government telling me what I can and cant buy.
However I also am mindful that many at these stores are FORCED to work because they are an essential service. Along with delivery by fed ex, ups and usps. Who are also forced to work. So I have shut down ALL of my shopping except super necessary things.
