A late-night drive that began with a promise of a surprise turned into one of the most disturbing triple murder cases to emerge from the Chicago suburbs. The case centres on 30-year-old Jenna Strouble, who is accused of killing the father of her children, Jacob Lambert, and his parents.
According to prosecutors, Strouble lured Lambert out late at night, asking if he wanted to go for a drive on March 22. The pair eventually stopped at a secluded location, where she told him she had a "surprise".
She brought a massage gun with her because Lambert told that his back hurt. Lambert was asked to recline his seat, remove his shirt and lie on his stomach. She then allegedly climbed on his back in a straddling position and massaged him for approximately 20 minutes. During this time, she retrieved a Glock handgun fitted with a suppressor, which was hidden under the seat. Prosecutors claim she held the weapon to the back of Lambert's head for several minutes while continuing the massage, before ultimately pulling the trigger.
According to local media, court documents showed that after her arrest, Strouble told Will County sheriff's deputies that she and Lambert were co-parenting and maintaining "an occasional intimate relationship."
SECOND ATTACK AT HOME
After the shooting, Strouble reportedly smoked a cigarette after killing Lambert. She then drove to Lambert's parents' house. Prosecutors allege she attempted to enter using his keys before his stepfather, Patrick Forde, opened the door."As soon as he did, she began shooting," according to court filings. She fired 17 shots at the entrance. Moments later, Lambert's mother, Stacy Forde, came downstairs after hearing the commotion and was also fatally shot.
Authorities say the attack unfolded rapidly once inside the home, leaving both victims with no chance to escape.
SISTER'S CALL ALERTS POLICE
The case came to light after a 911 call from Strouble's sister, who told police she had confessed to shooting three people. She reportedly said the two did not communicate well and admitted resentment over how he treated their children. Officers later located Strouble in Indiana, where she was arrested. A firearm believed to have been used in the killings was recovered during the investigation.Prosecutors say Strouble later admitted she had planned the attack, even saying the drive was arranged so she could harm Lambert. She is now facing nine counts of first-degree murder and remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.
Prosecutors said Strouble offered only limited explanations, including dissatisfaction with Lambert's behaviour and describing his parents as "overbearing."
