Harry is a real beauty, Dennis. I'd love to see more pictures of him!
He loves to climb onto my lap. Trouble is, a dog his size doesn’t fit. So he kinda lays from my lap to my chin. All 95 lbs of him. Has yours tried that yet?

No, she just lays on the floor. So far her worst behavior is when she's excited she wants to grab an arm or leg, not biting, but holding. Also she just started jumping in my face a bit when excited. Both behaviors are easy to stop.

I think her previous owners never did any training and she got too big and rambunctious for their kids. I know from her behavior when she sees kids that she had kids before. Too bad there aren't any here.

Last night was the first time she barked and growled when the LGD's barked outside, so she's starting to see this place as home, and ready to protect us!

Hairy does the “holding” thing with me, but of course I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old. Dogs’ mouths are their “hands.” Hairy does it out of affection, and I let him. He’s very gentle about it. He does it only to my forearm, when he leans back against the couch in a sitting position. I put my arm up beside his head, and he “holds” my arm for a couple of minutes.

But for a “new” dog, I don’t know how I’d feel about it. Hairy knows I’m the Alpha, and would clearly give his life for me. Your pup barking is a sure sign of bonding with you and your pack.
