TERRORISM UK police arrest several under explosives act in 'major incident' near US air base

Ah the shirtless, faceless men again. Must have been Amish youth I suppose. I always suspected the Amish had no use for the English climate.

I am wondering how soon before the English rise up and overthrow their royal overlords and send the Muslims packing. I don’t think they have hardly any more time to size up their survival chances or the betrayal of their country …
I don't believe they can make an effective overthrow with broom handles. That's about all they've got. America, are you paying attention?

MI5 on alert for Iranian terror plots in UK after SAS foiled RAF Fairford 'attack' - as Streeting says hero farmer 'doesn't have full picture'

Britain's security services are on high alert today amid fears of further Iranian terror attacks on UK soil after a farmer helped foil a plot to blow up US bombers at RAF Fairford.

MI5 and counter-terrorism police are scrambling to establish who was behind the suspected bomb plot after arresting five men believed to have been on the verge of carrying out a 'very big attack', sources said.

Elite SAS troops were also reportedly deployed to the site from Hereford, sources added.

However, suggestions that UK authorities had advance notice of the plot were dismissed, with Whitehall sources insisting the arrests were not pre-planned despite comments by President Trump and Defence Secretary Wes Streeting that appeared to suggest otherwise.

Sources said the heightened security at the Gloucestershire airbase was more likely linked to the ongoing threat facing US military installations.

The hero farmer who appears to have single-handedly foiled the major terror attack only has a 'partial picture' of the operation, Wes Streeting claimed today.

Driving home from a party in the early hours of yesterday morning, the local woman was shocked to find three large white vans blocking a road yards from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, which was used by US bombers to strike Iran.

Worryingly, the farmer claimed she saw more 'Middle Eastern-looking' suspects fleeing the scene than the five men later arrested.

She has said she is 'absolutely staggered' to have been the 'plucky amateur' who was forced to alert police, revealing that nobody answered a Ministry of Defence hotline when she called.

'Thank God we spotted them. I'm just really keen to highlight that it appears someone really dropped the ball on this,' she said, as counter-terrorism police probe if Iran is behind the plot.

Mr Streeting today praised her quick thinking and public spirit, but insisted that she had only a 'partial picture' of events, declining to reveal further details.

He said: 'She has done exactly what we would hope that someone in that extraordinary situation would do, and I'm really grateful to her.

'I think she acted, by her own admission, quickly and thoughtfully, and she did the right thing. With respect, though, she does only have a partial picture, and that's as far as I wish to go this morning.'

He was asked about why a MoD 24/7 hotline for locals to report security concerns at Fairford was not answered when the farmer called yesterday. Mr Streeting said he could not comment due to the 'live investigation' into the incident.

But he again thanked police and the security services for their response, adding that the UK must not be 'cowed by sabre-rattling from Iran' or allow the country to 'dictate our foreign policy' while stressing it was 'too early to attribute background aims'.

Donald Trump appeared to nod when asked by reporters last night whether the suspects were migrants. However, he did not answer directly, saying only: 'We know all about them.'

The farmer's arrival after a night out with friends reportedly sent the group of men in balaclavas scattering into nearby woodland and across fields surrounding the base, which was recently used by US aircraft involved in strikes on Iran.

She said she was astonished to have been the person who raised the alarm, despite President Trump's claim that the group were known to authorities and under surveillance.

One resident said of the local farmer: 'She is a hero. She has almost certainly prevented a terror attack.'

The 'masked' men were later filmed shirtless amid reports they may have been on a suicide mission armed with explosive vests, allegedly targeting a fleet of US B-1 Lancer bombers based at Fairford.

The farmer, who has not been named, was forced to stop when she found three white vans blocking the road.

As the men fled in different directions, she called 999 before sending a message to the local WhatsApp group in the village of Whelford.

Within 25 minutes, the five suspects had been rounded up and arrested by armed counter-terrorism officers, who are now investigating whether the alleged plot was linked to Iran.

'They probably thought we were the police and panicked,' the farmer said last night.

'A plucky amateur shouldn't be spotting unusual activity at 1am when the air base is on high alert. I think it's absolutely astonishing.

'Thinking about it now, and what could have happened if they had tried to stop me from driving away, I am quite lucky.'

She added: 'It is pretty incredible, realising you had a face-to-face brush with potential terrorists and may have foiled a terrorist plot. It was clear they had only just arrived. Thank God we spotted them.'

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday morning she said: 'I was coming home late from a party. On reaching our farm, I found both the driveway and the road blocked by three white vans.

'We were aware that RAF Fairford was operating at a high security level and that civilian staff had been evacuated.

'We had noticed some activity from what I assumed were plain-clothed police officers for the previous few days, so initially I thought perhaps this was more of the same.

'I had no choice but to turn my vehicle around and return back the way I came.

'On driving a short distance from the vans, I saw a large group of hooded and masked men.

'When they saw me, they ran ahead of me, some into the field and some towards the neighbouring village of Kempsford.

'I then realised that something highly unusual was taking place. In light of my awareness of a security threat to the base, I immediately called the MoD (Ministry of Defence) police, the phone rang out and they didn't answer.

'At 1.36am I called 999 to report what I had seen. Within 10 minutes, the village was full of armed police.

'I think it was pure luck that I arrived in the village at a similar time to the vans.

'I am absolutely staggered that it was left to me, as a member of the public, to see and report this.

'The airbase were operating a roadblock close to the entrance to the base, but not on any of the other roads.

'But we assumed someone would be monitoring the roads around the base perimeter and taking regular patrols in the village.

'Clearly, this was not happening, and I believe that my 999 call foiled whatever plans they had.

'Even more surprising that, following my call at 1.36am, the police were aware of the presence of the three vans, but didn't evacuate the village until 6am.

'No one from the police has been in touch to ask me anything about it.

'I think they were hyper-focused and vigilant about the base itself, and had absolutely no regard for our village.

'The vans were within metres of houses, and those people were left unaware, apart from the fact that I sent a message to our village WhatsApp group, hoping that some people would be awake and could make sure their doors were locked.

'It all happened fairly quickly. My impression was that they were fit and young, they were all wearing similar dark clothes.

'I'm just really keen to highlight that it appears someone really dropped the ball on this.

'Also, I am finding it strange that at the press conference, the police are saying they responded to a call at 12.45 about three suspicious vans travelling towards the base.

'If this is the case, why did they not know they were in Whelford when I called almost an hour later?'

Last night as he landed back in Washington from Illinois, President Trump hailed US-UK co-operation to foil the attack - and insisted that the group were known to police and were 'looking to do big damage' to US forces.

When asked if the US knew about the attack, he said: 'We know all about them. You'll be hearing about it very soon. We caught them.'

Earlier in the day he said: 'It was fantastic. Working with Britain, it was an amazing job. We had them under investigation. They were looking to do big damage to our fort, and working with the British worked out great.

'It may have been Scotland Yard, I don't know. We worked with a lot of them. We had them under view for a long time, and we got them. Thank you.'

The five arrested men are in custody and can be questioned for a fortnight under UK anti-terror laws.

RAF Fairford was used by the United States Air Force for operations against Iran. The base, which is already on high alert and had ramped up security in recent weeks, is less than a mile from the centre of the village.

Minutes after the farmer's call, armed police descended on the quiet Cotswolds village of Whelford – home to just 100 – and arrested five men. Dramatic video and pictures from the scene show the young, shirtless men sitting on the ground – arms handcuffed behind them.

The woman, who did not want to be named for fear of reprisals, said she believed her headlights had startled the men, prompting them to try to flee.

She told the Sun: 'The worst thing is that we saw more than five people and they kept saying they arrested five. They had the helicopters searching.'

It comes as Temporary Chief Constable for Gloucestershire Police, Maggie Blyth, has indicated the force is not looking for anybody else in connection with the incident.

The farmer revealed she had been driving along a quiet lane through the village while her husband was sleeping beside her as she prepared to drop a friend home.

She said the vans struck her as being suspicious because a phone number and lettering on the back of the vehicles appeared to be fake.

She added: 'I just thought what the hell are they doing… I saw a group of Middle Eastern–looking young guys running off through the trees. Some of them had masks or balaclavas on, and they all scattered ahead of us as we drove back past.

'Some of them ran into the fields, and some of them turned to run towards the air base. We realised this was something pretty serious.

'We knew the air base had a credible threat of a terrorist attack before last night. So as soon as I saw them I was worried.

'I mean, you don't see masked men running around at half-one in the morning in the countryside near a secure air base and not have concerns.

'It's bloody preposterous that they weren't on it and I had to phone up. I'd like to think it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing.'

The woman said she hoped the police 'sort themselves out and this doesn't happen to us again' – insisting there would be some 'red faces in the highest levels of command at Fairford anyway'.

One of the white vans was labelled 'FUEL 2YOU' in red lettering, with a phone number that was one digit short.

A company with the same name said it had two vans and they were both in London yesterday. After the men were detained a 400m cordon was thrown up around the vehicles – which appeared to have been laden with barrels – while police went door to door, evacuating the 85 homes in the village.

Residents told how they were initially woken by a helicopter at 1am and then again by bangs on the door before being taken away in their pyjamas and dressing gowns to a leisure centre.

Jo, who did not want to give her surname, has lived in Whelford for 18 years. She said she was evacuated from her home at around 7am, adding: 'We were asleep and they were just banging on our door. They said it was a critical incident and we've got to leave straight away, and they basically wouldn't leave the doorstep until we left.

'We just had to throw our clothes on and come. We didn't know anything. (The police) literally waited (at the door). I didn't even brush my teeth.'

Another Whelford resident said they were woken by a helicopter at 2am. They were then woken again at 6.30am by police officers banging on their bedroom window telling them they needed to evacuate. The local said: 'We'd gone to bed as normal around 10pm and heard the helicopter above the house at 2ish.

'You get used to aircraft living so close to the base, but not at that time in the early hours. So we knew something was happening.

'We sleep downstairs and heard a banging on the window at 6.30am. We must have slept through the doorbell.

'It was the police, they were armed and in masks. They very calmly said there was a 'serious incident' and that we needed to leave for our own safety.

'We grabbed some things and headed to the leisure centre. We haven't been told when we can go back. It's been a very scary day.'

Those evacuated were taken to Cirencester Leisure Centre – ten miles away – where areas are also being set up for people's cats and dogs.

Two uniformed officers had earlier gone to collect one worried resident's dog. They dropped off the small black terrier to her in the foyer of the centre.

Julian Tudsbery, who has lived in Whelford for 30 years, said: 'Evidently, they phoned the airbase police, who didn't answer the phone. It just rang out so she dialled 999.'

He said he was evacuated at 7am, adding: '[The police] were then banging on the door, so I went downstairs in my dressing gown.'

JUST IN: The five would-be terrorists arrested before attacking RAF Fairford and US troops are "BRITISH NATIONALS," counter terror police announce

This HIDES their true origin as many migrants and foreigners are simply handed British National status!

RUPERT LOWE MP: "Were they born here? Grew up here? Family ties here? Or were they simply handed a passport, and labelled 'British'?"

We all saw the photos. They do not look British.

3rd world mass migration in the UK is a threat to AMERICAN SECURITY now. Wake up, PM Andy Burnham, and stop worrying about offending people!

VERY specific and descriptive!

I'm honestly surprised that she got any useful response calling 999! From other actions I've seen the police over there take when its a choice of believing the native citizens or the invaders, she's lucky they didn't arrest *her* for Islamaphobia and breach of the peace!

That's because this is a rural area; the cops often live in the same villages as everyone else.

I have a bad feeling about this, and I have to be careful what I say for legal reasons over here, but I am even more concerned if the government(s) knew about these jerks but somehow failed to notice what they were doing at 1:00 am in the morning, blocking a village road and getting ready to pack explosives near the entrance to a joint US/UK airbase.

Where they:

1. Sleeping on the job (literally)
2. Waiting for them to do something before making an arrest?
3. Waiting for what exactly? . . . things that make you go hmmmm, and trust me, I don't like to go there.

But the UK, despite its issues, still has one of the best militaries in Europe, and we all know how reluctant the Europeans (and the Brits) have been when it comes to getting involved in the growing war in the Middle East, hmmmmm....

I have a bad feeling too. Something isn’t sitting right about the official response.

Thank God for the farmer’s perseverance.

All Five Suspects Arrested On Terrorism and Explosives Suspicions Released On Bail

British police released five men on bail Monday following their arrests on suspicion of terrorism and explosives offenses near RAF Fairford, according to Reuters. All five remain under investigation.

"To be very clear, this does not mean the investigation is over," Counter Terrorism Policing chief Laurence Taylor told reporters on Monday afternoon.

Taylor said, "They are subject to stringent conditions on their movement and contact with others. They absolutely remain under investigation as we explore multiple lines of inquiry."

"We are considering this from every possible angle," Taylor added, "including that this may be activity committed by proxies, or individuals either knowingly or unknowingly, working on behalf of a foreign state."

The decision to release all five suspects on bail is very questionable given the seriousness of the suspected terrorism and explosives offences and the investigation into possible foreign-state involvement.

All Five Suspects Arrested On Terrorism and Explosives Suspicions are British Nationals

Five men were arrested near RAF Fairford early Sunday morning on suspicion of terrorism and explosives offenses.

Reuters reports that the men were all in their mid-twenties and were British nationals living in London.

"At this time, we are working to establish the full circumstances of the activity of those arrested, their knowledge and any motivation behind this incident," Counter Terrorism Police said in the statement.

"I am very aware of the levels of speculation about the motivation behind this incident, and the geopolitical questions that are being raised. However, I ask that at this time, Counter Terrorism Policing are given the space to work carefully and clearly."

RAF Fairford is a critical node for the US military's long-range bomber force, supporting deployments of B-52s, B-1B Lancers and B-2 stealth bombers. Its role in strikes on Iran makes a conflict-related motive worth considering.

UK authorities have not publicly established that connection, but the strategic airbase raises the possibility that the suspected activity was intended to disrupt US bomber operations beyond the Gulf area.

Trump Says Suspects "Looking to do Big Damage"

Reuters reported that an Iranian-linked motive could very well be behind the incident that unfolded early Sunday morning, citing a source familiar with the investigation. Counterterrorism investigators are also examining the possibility of Russian sabotage or an Islamist plot.

President Trump told reporters earlier this afternoon that British and US authorities had been monitoring the suspects and alleged they intended to cause "big damage."

"We had them under investigation. They were looking to do big damage to our fort and working with the British worked out great ... We had them under view for a long time, and we got them," Trump said.

Police established a 400-meter perimeter while bomb-disposal personnel examined the three vans near RAF Fairford in western England. Notably, the airfield hosts strategic US bombers.

The bomb squad found large black barrels inside the vans.

RAF Fairford has become a critical node for US military operations against Iran. Tehran warned in July that airbases used to launch attacks would be considered legitimate targets.

Here's the latest from X user Politics UK:

  • A farmer driving home in the early hours found three white vans blocking a village road with no one inside
  • Suspicious, she immediately turned around before seeing a "group of Middle Eastern-looking young guys run off through the trees" in the direction of the air base wearing masks
  • One van displayed a UK number for a company called "Fuel 2You", which is not registered on Companies House. The number also appeared to be one digit short and does not ring when called
  • She immediately called 999 and five men were arrested within 25 minutes under the Explosives Act. Homes were evacuated and a major incident was declared just after 8am
  • Later today, the two rear doors of two of the vans were open and large black containers could be seen scattered around with a bomb disposal robot operating next to the vans
  • The five suspects were then further arrested on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act
  • Counter Terror Police are understood to think that a suspected bomb plot linked to Iran is the most likely scenario due to US air bombers operating from the base
  • Last night, before the incident, reports said that the base was at its highest alert with tractors blocking all gates. A local in the village said they had been stopped at gunpoint at a roadblock by a group of American soldiers, who ordered them to put their hands out of the car and identify themselves

US Stealth Bomber Base In UK On "Delta" Alert As Counter-Terror Police Make Arrests, Deploy Bomb Squad Search Of Vans

British counterterrorism police declared a major incident near RAF Fairford, an airbase used by the US Air Force, after several men were arrested on suspicion of explosives offenses. RAF Fairford was reportedly placed on "Delta," the highest threat level, according to the national news agency Press Association, now known as PA Media.

probably gave them their explosives back, too!

Unless they are releasing them as bait...trying to find the multiple others the farmer reported she saw...

Material found in RAF ‘bomb plot’ was ‘not viable explosives’ – as five Brit nationals arrested are released on bail

This just keeps getting weirder. For those interested, this is very much an "Opinion" piece from a guy who really wants to sell you gold (though he's a Brit and lower-key about it than some on the US alternative media). I thought some of what he has to say was a good summation of how many people in the UK feel about what is going on. It is about 30 minutes long, but worth listening to. I should point out that this man no longer lives in the United Kingdom, and it is pretty obvious why he moved.
Run time: 29 minutes 27 seconds

Flipping through the channels and saw this:

The five suspects, who haven’t been named, were initially held over suspected explosives offenses, and later also arrested on suspicion of preparing an act of terrorism.

Police said the men are all British nationals from London and in their 20s.

Got to wonder if they're already in possession of UK Citizenship or just Refugees or Immigrants but even those very basic bits of info plus their names are still not publicly available.

And of course there's no indication who posted bail or how much it was. Going out on a limb and predicting the bail amount will be picayune relative to the scope of the intended damage.

If it was no cash bail, just a guarantee (promise) to appear I may learn what an aneurysm feels like.

It's early.

We haven't seen any reply from the Muslim side, yet.

I keep thinking about this (bad habit, I know), and even if some of them were part of a deep-cover operation, it doesn't make sense to release them all back into the community. In the UK and Ireland, they can release people with orders to "sign on" every day at the police station, sometimes wearing a tracking device, and take other actions to prevent them from going back to doing whatever they are being accused of. They could have done something like that with special instructions to their special ops guy or something.

This is just weird, really weird.

since when does the UK's policies toward Islam and Muslims make sense?

First reports was the explosives WERE viable and chemicals were found too.

Released on bail.

It's a tragic comedy that if you made it up, I'd change channels because it's just too unbelievable
I believe there was also mention of suicide vests/belts, always believed the suicide angle, regardless of how, will be the main mode of leattack do to the crippling effect it has on the naive and uninformed general public.

If they can't get near those bases, wouldn't be shocked if they drove a truck or two into a small town center and leveled the entire area, this is coming to the U.S. and probably sooner than later.

MAJOR BREAKING: Sec. Marco Rubio announces a "FOREIGN ACTOR" was involved in the planned terrorist attack on RAF Fairford base UK — 5 of the suspects are now OUT ON BAIL

"A LOT more news will come out on this."

"I have to be careful, there are some things I cannot say...suffice it to say what almost happened in the UK is VERY serious...it clearly involves the hands of a foreign actor. I won't get into details about that yet."

Rubio says UK authorities have been "cooperative"

CLEARLY the US was heavily involved in helping catch this guy

I cannot wrap my head around why the UK released those 5 men. The UK needs to wake up, foreign actors are infiltrating them en masse!

Some very good OPSEC and analysis.
----------------------------
(S2 Underground)
Analyst Comments:

So far, an intense amount of sheer insanity has hit the timeline regarding the RAF Fairford saga, which is largely the result of the sheer lack of information and the confusing nature of what actually happened. On the one hand, some governmental sources claim that an attack was foiled by the farmer who found the individuals, but other sources claim that intelligence agencies were watching these suspects for some time. Clearly, discrepancies in the official story exist, and an objective approach is still called for to determine what is really happening...because this might not be over just yet.

Based on what little evidence is in the public eye, there are a few possible explanations for what happened:

Theory 1- A genuine terror attack was foiled by a prepared citizen before it could get underway.
Theory 2 - That this was a false-flag attack that was not actually a genuine threat.
Theory 3 - A band of diesel thieves got caught transferring fuel between themselves on a back road, and the farmer who caught them immediately thought it was a terror attack.
Theory 4 - That RAF Fairford has been expecting a terror attack since being publicly threatened by Iran weeks ago, and a band of fuel thieves being caught this close to the base triggered all counterterrorism responses and caused everyone to jump the gun, while the real threat still remains.

As it stands, determining exactly which theory bears more weight is challenging, but as noted this morning, there are a lot of data points that don't make sense if this were a terror attack. Likewise, the "fuel theft" theory might not be correct either, but this theory certainly cannot be dismissed and most of the evidence does support this theory. Also, there is a history of thieves stealing fuel specifically from American bases in Europe, with a major fuel theft ring being busted in Romania five years ago. Similarly, diesel prices today in the U.K. reached a historical record, reaching more than 199.18p/liter (roughly the equivalence of $10 American per gallon). This is merely tangential to the exact incident at Fairford, but it is important to know in a broader sense.

The release of the assailants on bail is not really an indicator of much either, as the British government probably would release legitimate terrorists and diesel thieves alike. Another non-helpful detail is the list of charges themselves. All five men were arrested under suspicion of Offenses under the Explosives Act, as well as Section 5 of the Terrorism Act of 2006. Both laws are catch-all legal codes, and the terms by which both laws are applied are extremely broad, so being held (without charge) under these laws is not entirely proof of much without amplifying information.

To balance out all factors by examining one detail which does NOT directly support the diesel theft theory, locals report that RAF Fairford was actually at a higher Force Protection (FPCON) level than normal this week. Though the exact timeline is critically important (but not confirmed yet), the base was allegedly at a heightened state of alert before the incident involving the three vans. Daring to go out on a limb to interpret this data point, it's possible that the base was quietly preparing for a terror attack, and some idiots stealing fuel just let the cat out of the bag regarding what the base had secretly being preparing for. It's possible that the base responded to this threat, thinking it was "the one" but in reality it was something unrelated. Two things can be true at the same time; the base could have been expecting a major attack, and jumped the gun on some idiots with fuel cans. The off-the-cuff statements by President Trump also support this eventuality; maybe he thought that this was indeed the attack that had been expected, and jumped the gun himself based on media reports.

This leads into the real danger with events like this: If this was not a genuine terror attack, but instead just some rather brazen thieves, any actual terrorist group that's out there just went underground and are hardening their security practices. Due to the internet getting spun up over this incident, real terrorists have learned quite a bit and they also now know just how primed society is for a real attack. Likewise, any activist groups now know that they will get their own bright and shiny news helicopter to photograph their propaganda banners, if they were to try another breach of an RAF facility, like the Palestine Action group has been known to do.

At the end of the day, the truth of what actually happened is the only thing that matters, because truth helps us to determine where future risks may lie. If this was a deliberate terror attack, a certain course of action would be indicated. If this was NOT a terror attack, a different course of action would be a better fit, because other terrorists are probably out there waiting. In the early hours after what seems like a major incident like this, no one can be blamed for making decisions out of an abundance of caution. In most cases, it is wise to over-assess the threat during the heat of the moment, and then walk back the assessment to more reasonable ground once the fog of war clears and more information becomes available. In this case, the only thing worse than catching a group of terrorists, is not catching a group of terrorists, who can then learn from the situation and alter their attack plans accordingly. With tensions palpably high throughout the continent, it would make perfect sense for this type of overreaction to take place.

The United Kingdom is currently facing many serious disasters. From the importation of millions of people who seek to cause harm, to the aging military infrastructure that has been unable to keep up with modern war in the homeland, the U.K. certainly has problems. Like most western nations at this point, public trust in government is also at an all-time low and the British government specifically has a long track record of covering up incidents like this, which might cast decision makers in a bad light. Whatever the truth is, it will eventually come out one way or another. Clearly, if the US is increasing FPCON levels at overseas bases (levels which have varied over the past few months) a genuine attack is expected. Focusing on idiots stealing fuel could be a distraction from a real attack, which could strike at any time. Constant vigilance is recommended as more generally, the western world has been primed for terror attacks for some time. The hard part is knowing which incidents are genuine, and which events are not what they seem.

50% of his theories are "fuel thieves"?

The UK security services and government are too embarrassed to admit they've lost control so would rather this doesn't go to trial? They’re all going to mysteriously disappear. Mark my words.

Perhaps maybe they were hoping that a Terr attack on a base used by the Good Ol' USA would get us "Back in the Game".

Perhaps maybe.
