Multiple people were killed and several others injured, including two cops, in a shooting in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday, according to a report and officials.

At least six people were shot near an apartment building on East Grant Street just before 5 p.m. local time, KSTP reported, citing a source.

“The Minneapolis Police Department is on the scene of a shooting in the area of 15 E Grant St. involving multiple victims, including two police officers,” read a statement from the City of Minneapolis’ X account.

One cop was shot in the stomach and the other was hit in the leg, the source told KSTP.

The same source told the outlet that multiple civilians were killed.

Law enforcement urged the public to avoid the area as they investigate.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities were responding to a shooting in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday afternoon with multiple victims, including two police officers, according to officials.

The Minneapolis Police Department warned the public to stay away from the area.

Video posted to social media showed police aiming rifles upward at an apartment tower near the Minneapolis Convention Center. Officials warned residents to avoid the densely populated Loring Park neighborhood nearby.

No additional information was immediately released about the number of people wounded and their condition.
