Okay, we've all been hearing/seeing the "groundswell" of support around an Obama 3rd term, with stories like this one from The Hill:

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/286105-majority-of-democrats-want-third-term-for-obama

Try this on for size, as a timeline:

(Ongoing): Incessant drumbeat pining for Obama to have four more years

Sometime between now and the end of the D convention: Hillary names the kenyan as her VP running mate.

She wins through dirty tricks/October surprise/media assistance/voting "irregularities"/ whatever means

Jan 20, 2017, noon: Hildebeest sworn in
Jan 20, 2017, 12:01: Hildebeest resigns
Jan 20, 2017, 12:02: BHO re-sworn
Jan 20, 2017, 12:03: BHO issues pardon to HRC

Remember, Lynch's job doesn't go away upon inauguration. She must be fired in some way by the new executive. So at noon, she's still AG. Standing there, jingling a set of handcuffs and glaring at HRC as she takes the oath.

The 22nd Amendment states that no person may be ELECTED TO THE OFFICE of the presidency more than twice. It doesn't state that no person may hold the office past ten years. Wanna talk about loopholes? There's one big enough for....well, whatever...to be driven through it. Obama is not constitutionally ineligible to be President after this term, he's simply ineligible to be *ELECTED* to that office.

A second silver lining from BHO's point of view is that he's now unsaddled from having Biden as VP. So long as he doesn't name another one, he doesn't have to have one.

I can see this flying if it's orchestrated right, even with full knowledge aforehand of the whole plot. Too many low-information types out there who'd LOVE to see a 3rd term for that bastard. (I am using language precisely here)

Have a nice day and pass the Rolaids/Tums.

Certa Bonum Certamen
This is a pipe dream, crack pipe, that is!

Obama is not eligible to be nominated for VP. He has had two terms as president, that is the limit.

VP candidates must be able to step in as president if the current president is taken out or otherwise incapacitated, BHO is constitutionally barred from any more stints as president.

Go read the Twenty-second Amendment and defend your claim that he is ineligible. He may not be ELECTED to the presidency again. Nowhere in it does it say that he is barred from holding the office again, nor does the 22nd bar him from being a VP candidate.

Remember, we are contemplating people who haggle over what the definition of "is" is....

Thompson: A lot of the crap that's been forced on us since '08 would have been considered crack fantasies 20 years ago.

ETA Here's the 22nd. Read it with my original nightmarish premise in mind and see where it's strictly prohibited:

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section 2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several states within seven years from the date of its submission to the states by the Congress.
